Dear Activeworlds Community,

This year we have had very few entrys for the Cy Awards:(
Due to this lack of participation, we regret to inform you that we will
be cancelling everything including the September month of Cys.
Some of the problems are my fault also, due to family matters that
required my attention.
Should it work out, we might host the Cys in May of 2004, adding the
Lifetime Achievement Awards. May is the original month of Cys btw:)
Those of you that submitted your entry form, please make sure you
resubmit them for the next awards event.
I am truly sorry that this has happened, but I refuse to allow the Cys to
go on if they aren't at thier bestest in all areas:)
Take care and hope to see ya'll next year.

Well...we have tried the judging aspect and caught flack for that twice.
I just need to do some heavy thinking about how would best serve
everyone...which probably isn't a reality.

I would like to put an idea out there and see what ya'll think:)
What do all of you say we allow Linn to take the Cy Awards this year and
organize them?
I personally would like to see how she can improve on them and make
everyone happy. And if she does well....maybe I will just release them to
her:)

I just got awcc corner cleared and we can start the Cy Walk of Fame
really really soon!:)
Have a few items left to clear etc, then we can look at the layout, make
some models and be on our way!

Ahem......

I want to express myself on one issue in this thread, if ya'll don't
mind:)
My youngest daughter did not have the perfect figure. She was tormented
by bullies at school because of it.
I was as skinny as a rail and also tormented.
Bottom line....both of us (and I can assure you millions of other young
folks) go through ridicule like this daily, and it really has a sad effect
on their ego.
Please can we not fight utilizing people's looks etc?
It really can effect people's feelings and cause hurt:(

FYI...the Cys are "F" rated for fun!:)

I came up with my own world rating for the Cys actually...pretty cute eh?:)

Anyways, the Cys guidelines are based on AWI's Guidelines listed at
http://www.activeworlds.com/community/terms.asp

We are a world residing in AW Universe and agree to thier terms.

I have spoken to numerous Adult world owners and have been told they would
appreciate it if the Cys didn't allow Adult rated worlds, as they don't want
to be combating the "under aged users" that would be tempted to see what had
won.

I had also been told by some Adult world owners that are IRL parents that
they would be concerned also if their children were tempted to adult worlds.

Two things I would like to bring to light here.

1. Insanity, you and some of your world owners and builders make very
beautiful things and are very deserving of a thousand Cys! I don't care what
your preferences are adult material or not....ya'll are AW Masters at some
things. (Note:not referring to Gor Masters:)

2. Daphne, I wish you were privvy to the concern of the Adult world owners
and could respect them for sharing your identical concerns:)

I was accused of being one of those "certain people".
I personally didn't care that I got pinned with that accusation (since I
knew better:), however I was concerned that a person would think more of
being in AW than for their own health, and well being.
I recently heard of another AW citizen that AW caused to be in the hospital
cause of the stress.
Dumbfounds me to no end.
