Yeah, as nice and helpful as preston has been lately, I'm finding myself
waay too limited by it's programming capabilities.

I noticed a crash only when I attempted to close the project and it was
still running a test compile.

I tied my destroy instance to a logout button, as well as when you unload
the form, no errors for me.

The universe port for 4.1 is 6670, 5670 was the old uni's port number,
that number won't work anymore.

I believe that a value of 1 equals 10 meters (at least in altitude) I
think that it's just a standard 1meter ratio with the other coordinates,
someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I know that there is some way to load a prop with a preston, but I don't
know how. I'm sure there are others, but I think it is a good thing for
developers to create something new, even if it has already been done.
Throw a feature into it nobody else has. If someone doesn't like your
bot, they don't have to use it. I would say nobody will complain about
it, but I'm sure someone will, I've seen a lot of complaining over
stupid stuff on the NG's lately.

Even though you know his real name is Alex, you don't know his citname,
and I'm sure he doesn't want to get 5000 telegrams about the xelagot.

You can also check out http://www.linuxiso.org, they have all the
popular distrubtions of linux, as well as some of the less popular ones.
Right now the site is down but hopefully it will be back soon

Two things:
Firstly, cameras should be visibility independent...instead of relying
on the fact that the browser can see the object, instead base it on
position of the object in the prop dump file....have the browser search
the world server for the position of that named object and then jump the
browser 3d window to that location..That way you can have cameras all
across the world controlled at one point.
It should be fixed for both uses of cameras:
1. Simply a named object with another object having activate camera
location=name
2. Actual camera objects activated by a zone are also visibility
dependent. This should change.
And secondly, camera objects should be able to be activated the same way
a named object camera location can, instead of require a zone to view
it. (And maybe add a little icon in the menu bar that indicates you are
viewing a camera, and give the user an option to click on it to go back
to their normal view.)

Make an option to log chat by date, so everyday at midnight it changes
the number on the end of the chat log text file and starts a new log file

It's kind of like being on a contacts list. Being on certain peoples'
contacts list automatically enters me into a "I'm going to spam you
every time I think I have something worth saying" junk list. Generally
you can just email or telegram the person back and say "Please don't
send me stuff anymore, I have enough to sort through as it is, thanks."

And that works most of the time. You should try it.

If that does happen to fail and not work, I know that Thunderbird has
the nice ability to blacklist email addresses.

I am so sick of this CRAP! This is the community newsgroup....where the
community should have fun, not bash each other...Crap happens, clean it
up, throw it away, and get over it instead of spending the next six
years talking about it on AW newsgroups. If you don't want any more
emails from her, put her on your spam list. You need help doing that
let me know I'm quite proficient in Outlook and Thunderbird. I'm sure
that getting her banned from 20 worlds isn't going to affect her that
much. I doubt that the world she spends the most time in is one of
those worlds anyway. See when people carry on like this, they aren't
really affecting the other party at all, instead they are simply allow
it to seethe inside themselves and eat them away. Psychology 101 for
you. Bottom line is I'm tired of this junk, I come to the newsgroups to
ask questions, provide information, and have a good friendly chat. I
guess that's not what they are for anymore though.

I'm not the one whining about a stupid email, I'm sure that many others
in the community would agree with me.
