I think his ISP charge him based on bandwith or something, so it'd be
best to mark HTML posts as such on the subject line

This comes close enough.

Help a new mac baby

May 31, 2006, 5:50pm
Time to prance about like the TUAW reader i am (The Unoffical Apple
Weblog, not the University AW ;) )

2 words: Parallels Workstation
Virtual PC and GuestPC are dead, seeing as they're only for PowerPC.
Using them on Rosetta = emulating a mac emulating a mac emulating windows
But of course, you still need windows XP, but with parallels, you can
just create a disk image from your old windows installation

But, if you don't want to go through that, then the only other approach
is doing it the linux way: Wine
Or, more specifically, Darwine is a great site for technical resources

And finally, welcome aboard. The following sites are great for mac
resources: for your daily fix of mac cult goodies, along with software
news for a great up-to-date application library for your apple humor ;)

Emergency exists can be found with me or MrMeh

Stop right there, first you thought you could just download windows from
the offical site. Don't go off on any other silly things.

And yes, filesharing ftw (bittorrent)

Particle Emitters and Movers

Jun 1, 2006, 12:23am
Please, stop saying V4 Objects, thats confusing. Its V4 Object Types :P

AW still hasn't caught up. However the other building worlds such as
A!!CTHQ2 and AWTeen have zones and such on
Starting up a playground with all the stuff i mastered back in dotsoul
at AWTeen 2547n 1078w

[4.1 Build 949] Goobzilla

Jun 11, 2006, 9:53am
- Max Flying altitude is 1200m (If this isn't the bug, what the hell is
with this yet another oversight?)

[4.1 Build 949] Goobzilla

Jun 11, 2006, 11:55am
- The underside (invisible) area of 3D terrain has collision when you
approach it forward. When going backwards into the underside of the
terrain back to the surface, there is no collision.

[4.1 Build 949] Goobzilla

Jul 6, 2006, 5:12am
I modeled a new dell monitor with png textures and i have found two
annoying bugs:

- For textures, if there is no extension defined in the RWX script
("texture delldisp" instead of "texture delldisp.png") the browser will
only look for the jpg version of the name (for "texture delldisp", it
would try and download delldisp.jpg). It should look for other file
formats with the same filename and try to load them.

- PNG implementation is ugly! The colors are reduced to just 16, ahh at
how ugly my monitor looks. Try object gndellmon1 in a MODEL type emitter
to confirm.

Did You Know?

Then thats your problem, you have dos screens up, when the world server
uses a console.

Are you talking about the world server? Hell if we know what you're
ranting about.

I used to have a bad opinion of Dell, with its stereotypical asian
support centers and crap bloated systems. Especially since my Dell
computer came with fucked nVidia drivers that basically killed Windows.

And then i got this Inspiron laptop <3 Dell are becoming more innovative
i guess, more like Apple (not to mention the fact that they're pushing
to have OSX licensed for them), plus their displays are grand.

I especially like the technology they're starting to put into it, such
as the battery's inbuilt charge indicator and the most genius thing, the
ability to boot to a second partition with the mediaDirect button.

Agreed though, they do tend to take away the customaizationability ,
they're too arrogant about their own mods.

Update AWTeen's registry already!

Well woot, AWI do read the newsgroups

So while everyone is busy talking about unrelated Second Life business
tactics, your friendly AWTeen OP manager wishes to make a formal request
to AWI:

Update the registry with the new objects already >_<! Jerme has sent
them twice, has he not?

(the tone of this message is a joke, but an update would be nice =P)

Is it alright if you could give us some information on this planned
World Plugin server? Its been said that AlphaWorld won't have 4.1
objects enabled for it until a "plugin" is written for it to limit the
potential for abuse.
