Hi,
Try setting your Windows Color Depth to "Medium (16-bit)". Windows XP will many times auto-set that to "Highest (32-bit)" and I've found that I experience ocassional crashes in AW when I use that 32-bit setting. Haven't crashed once since setting mine to 16-bit : ) [View Quote] Re: New World - Now Hiring Lead Programmer(s)!Nov 3, 2005, 12:54am
Well stated, Andras! As a matter of fact, within a week of my finishing
reading the novel "Snowcrash", I then found AW back in early 1998. It really made me think about how the internet will evolve in the near future. I really believe that withing the next few years, 3D virtual reality will be the way most users will surf the net. A game, some say? How boring! Games are for gamers, virtual reality is for the future! [View Quote] Who owns...Nov 4, 2005, 2:56am
Back around mid-1999, I met the original owner of Narnia world, Anonyma. She
was a very nice person and was in the process of recreating the world described in the classic fantasy novel " The Chronicles of Narnia". She was making models of the different creatures and beings from that story and always welcomed my visits when I went in to see how things were progressing. Alas, she met an untimely death in the summer of 2000 and her world was never finished as far as I know. I seem to remember that someone else took up the care and maintenence of her world for a time but I have lost track now in the intervening years. It's been closed for a long time so I have no way of verifying just what state the world is currently in now. Anonyma's favorite public building world was Yellow and her friend Valaria created a memorial build for her in there at these coords: yellow 58N 137W for anyone who like to visit. Bravo to the Off Worlds Team and their "staff"! The all day party yesterday
(November 5th) was a rousing success. They had an unbelievable turnout, so much so that it resembled AW GZ back in the old days. Lots of great chat and joking around and the DJ music was Top Notch (thanks Tallan and Rain Beau!). I had a great time hanging out there and I even was able to chat with a few old friends I've known for years. Oh yeah, the Off Worlds city ain't no slouch either, heheh ; ) I wish AW was still ....Dec 4, 2005, 12:48pm

Hiya Strike,
Thanks for this very interesting teleports listing site. This could turn out to be a pretty nice project in time. I had a question about the website: I have some saved teleports of places not created by me and I'd like to know how to list them without it being documented as my own creation. Is there or will there be a section of "recommended" builds to visit? here we go againMay 30, 2006, 11:42am
Someone sent me this not too long ago when I asked about the minimum and
preferred system requirements for 4.1: 4.1 Minimum System Requirements: Pentium CPU 300Mhz or equivalent 64MB Memory Microsoft Windows (98, Me, NT4, 2000, or XP) DirectX 7 or later Windows Media Player 6.4 or later D3D video card with at least 8MB and the latest drivers However, for the best possible experience in Active Worlds 4.1 we recommend the following: Pentium III CPU 750Mhz or better 128MB Memory / 256MB Memory for XP Microsoft Windows 98, Me, 2000, or XP 500MB free disk space DirectX 8.1 or later Windows Media Player 9 or later 3D accelerated video card with at least 16MB and the latest drivers Sweets' WorldJul 15, 2006, 12:20am
Hey sweets...whenever I come into AW, I don't see your world on the
Worlds list...it's Taurius, right? Harold & ActiveworldsJul 20, 2006, 12:03am
The site got that right...Protagonist will NEVER return to AW.
