This problem has happened a few times throughout the year, and when it
happens, it happens frequently. This has only happened on the active worlds
browser. I can only fix it by reinstalling AW. It's a real nuiscence at
most. It just starts randomely happening one day, and gradually gets more
frequent. Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

I have do not know anything about the AW SDK, so I have no idea if you are
just BSing me or not, John. Did you actually give a valid solution to the
problem? If so, then I have no idea what you are talking about.

official hype from the company) about AW 4.0 as well.

It would be a great Christmas gift to allow tourist building in Alpha World
again (forever). This would be one positive change that would appeal to
everyone who is concerned about the preservation of Alpha World's history.
Dec 9, 2004, 9:23pm
Yes, there are many different tourist worlds in Active Worlds, with you
neglecting to name some more of them, hinting at merely advertising your own
world, but nothing will compare to Alpha World when it comes to the original
intent for which this program was made. Also, tourist builds are
unprotected in Alpha World, so they will still have the desire to register
as citizens to get protected builds. Your "tourist" world does nothing but
hurt the situation by giving tourists incentives to not subscribe. Not to
mention, you completely avoided the point Color made regarding how tourists,
intermingled with citizens, would make Active Worlds a funner experience for
everyone, tourists and citizens alike. Take your advertising elsewhere.

Yet again someone misses the point. Despite its size, AWTeen is still very
crowded, with ugly terrain spikes/walls all over the place. Plus, a citizen
can simply use a seeker bot (I've still seen them used even though they are
banned) and massively delete tourist buildings. It would be much harder in
Alpha World.

I just went into Broadway world to check out the ball drop. Everyone was
there. Then I get that random whisper after saying hi.
pics.swcity.net/tallan1.jpg
Tallan2.jpg shows the following telegrams shortly after ejection. I have no
idea what TaLLan wishes to tear down, though.
pics.swcity.net/tallan2.jpg
Jan 1, 2005, 8:15pm
Seems that TaLLan (GKDJ when he's a GK) is getting the ETLs involved for an
unknown reason. TaLLan is sure sending out a good message. Is this the
type of person that is allowed in the GK organization?
http://pics.swcity.net/tallan3.jpg
Jan 2, 2005, 6:31am
Well, Lady Nighthawk, in reply to number 1, I encourage TaLLan to post what
I said to him that day, in these NGs, in order. Also, there's no way of
proving that I said anything to TaLLan, since I can't screenshot my own
telegrams, so that will be up to TaLLan, if he wants to be fair about it, to
post what I said. The only telegram that could be considered "provoking"
was the last telegram I sent to TaLLan, which was something regarding his
maturity saying such things to me. TaLLan, please, post what I said to you
that day in these NGs. Screenshots would be good.
In response to your second thing. TaLLan is a GK. Though he was not acting
as a GK, it was just noteable that someone acting as such would be allowed
in the GK organization. I recall someone being kicked off the PK
organization because he was conducting some minor griefing, if you would
even call it that. (I will not give the name of the person. He may gladly
post here if he wishes to reveal himself.) Anyway, it seems that the GK
organization, as such, is much more lenient in who they allow to join.
Don't you think it's important to have a strict filter on who you allow to
join an organization which represents all of Active Worlds from the
newcomer's perspective? I think so.

It better not be ignored this time -_- Also in reply to Nighthawk's post,
TaLLan was using the same cit during GK as he was outside of duty. And,
yes, even if he did use his GKDJ cit, he should be associated with other
actions. Just because it's a different cit doesn't mean that the same
person should be dismissed.

350% Increase in price, and I still want to see AW like it used to be in
2000-2001. For me at least, it is not worth paying over 3 times the
previous price. That's why I have only payed $20 for this cit.
I was expressing my concern in AWGate, along with others, and chrispeg was
just ignoring me, and others, joking around with Veger (despite Veger going
apesh*te on everyone a minute before.) He said it was my tone of voice/word
choice. Heh, right. Tone of voice in text form. It seems that veger
calling people "FAGOT" in all caps was the right word choice to get you,
chrispeg, to listen?
Seems that AWI just hangs out there, and lurks around elsewhere. When
chrispeg specifically said "No, I can't, sorry," or something along those
lines regarding whether he was going to hype up 4.0, I knew that AWI was
doomed. They have no idea how to run a business.
Here's the simple question: You're paying 3.5 times the price. Is Active
Worlds really 3.5 times better than it was?

Lighting has been at 10 meters for years. During those years, people's
computers have only been getting faster as technology advances. Why reduce
such an old Active Worlds feature? It makes no sense if it has been up for

One of my larger builings that I took years to make has completely lost its
impact now that the lights shine only 3 meters. It's all dark inside now.
Better compromise? Why do we need a compromise? I haven't heard any
complaints about light vandalism. It's been fine ever since it was
released. What about AWTeen? People aren't packing up and leaving AWTeen,
and I need not tell you how many features AWTeen has that could be abused :P
