And your point is? SM cannot be an accessory to crime...think of it this
way. This guy hangs out in a coffee shop, he pays for meals and coffee etc.
but one day he walks out across the street and shoots a guy. Is the coffee
shop an accessory? NO. Better stop screwing with SM or its owner will
probably sick lawyers on you. Horny ones at that!

NO im not going to play post search here, you are harboring criminals, you
are action to a lawsuite, you do not know me or what money I have and
lawyers usual dont care about that part, because when I win, they win.
This is not a threat or bluff.
Peaple in AW have bad opinions of me because they DO NOT know what I'm being
put through here but trust me my friend its sunday night, when Activeworlds
opens for business tomorrow morning, the whole story and truth will be
revealed to them!
You all can think what you want bad about me here, but if it was you and no
one as a community wanted to listen to truth and facts or if it was your
stuff. Youd think differently and stop calling me a cry baby. Because maybe
there is something to cry about.
Im leaving AW regardless, its this crap why i'm leaving!!
Trust me many more will leave. A!!CT wis destroyed, the ones who did it did
not hurt me, they hurt active worlds!
Just one last note..A!!CT world consisted of only 2% of my personal builds,
98% of the builds there were made by the public.
If you have any Heart in your sole at all, think of those 98% who just came
back to find their builds gone forever.
Dont balme me for being a terrible world owner, I try to run my world
respectfully, its jealous Pions who have to come around and start trouble
and run anti-a!!ct posts and AWNEWS articals that start trouble and people
from other worlds who come to act out acts of terroistism to discourage
others from even wanting to be in this program.
One last note, A!!CT and 12 other worlds were destroyed, I would never in my
wildest dreams, ever wish that to happen to Spiral Matrix!
Mayor Taz is a criminal, I assure you he will be banned from the AW universe
as of tomorrow. Dont harbor him, because you will be an assessory to his
crime.

Maybe it doesnt, but this criminal is guilty of hacking AW related software,
which also licenses Spiral Matrix's software.
Therefore its up to aw to act and being that its their software and hes
being harbored there they can act.
This goes beyond anything to do with A!!CT.
Upto now M A T T never really did anything to A!!CT.
His crimes were against AW its self.

M A T T: I hacked Mods computer.

Dont put words in my mouth. Ill fuckin set lawyers on you then.

[View Quote]"mrbruce" <MrBruce at a1ct.com> wrote in message

Mod lets start at the beginning here, all i did was post a fricken post
showing all of you what kind of people the ones chatting in a chat text were
saying and doing and I have the proof that it was not just talk. those
people are the same people in AW such as Ep0ch, Anthony ect ect. If i edited
out all the spiral mextrix quotes I might as well added a few M A T T: I
hacked Mods computer. Ep0ch: Yeah so did I hahaaha.
I delibratly left the text UNEDITED and undoctored so no one could lie and
say it was a fake doctored version.
Does AWI threaten to sue if you post a chat text that starts out with
Welcome to Alpha World, the biggest world in cyberspace?
If echo wants to sue me for that let him go ahead, because he was NOT
accused by ME in any way shape or form, nor did I ever say his universe was
a hacked one or say that the intent of the post was to ruin his universe!
he's the one who drew that absurd conclusion, so stop sucking up to him. He
was wrong!
So he chose to post that I was banned from there and was only there to start
trouble for him, but fails to read a chat text from his own universe and
fails to realise by reading it that the people in his universe are guilty of
a crime.
By the way, dont think for a minute that M A T T can not read this new
forum, he was quoted things that were newly posted as you can plainly see in
that chat text.
Point here is if M A T T and those others were not there bothering me via
attacking my mail server, I would never have gone there in the first place.
Now that Echo has read that chat, instead of posting "Thanks MrBruce for
pointing out this matter to me it will be looked into", he instead posts a
threat involving law suits! So sorry read more closely before you post.

True...very true. If A!!CT doesnt have backups, I laugh at them. By default,
all of my world servers back up their data every 30 minutes, then every day,
cron (scheduled commands) backs up the world server directory (i keep it in
/world) and makes a tar.gz of it. I was even thinking of having it email
me/ftp backups to another server, which is probably a good plan.

I believe if you look closely at the events in AW and in this news
group, you should have learned the following:
|
1) Some people crave attention so badly, they'll stoop to any level to
get it - even when it makes them look like total fools.
2) Evidently, there are people that like to prey on the appearance of
"cyber terrorism" to in and of itself terrorize the AW community.
I do not, for a moment, believe a world was deleted without backup
copies of the data existing somewhere. I do not, for a second, believe a
world with talented individuals as A!!CT has wouldn't take the simple
measures of backing up their data regularly. This simple point aside, I
believe this soap opera gives us an opportunity to review how we can protect
our worlds within the limitations of the AW browser and world servers
available to us.
If any of the world owners out there are concerned about the security
and stability of their world builds and object paths, there are several
methods that can be taken. First and foremost is a REGULAR backing up of all
world data. This is easily accomplished either by using bots to back up the
data, or by having the world host do regular prop/at/elevdumps. This helps
protect against innocent accidental deletions, along with deliberate
malicious action. Second is to protect the security of the object path. This
can be accomplished in a couple of ways. Make sure you place blank
index.html files in the directories of the object path. I built some booby
trapped Flash pages for that purpose. 5 seconds to get out, then a mass of
popups, calling URL loads of - you guessed it, more booby trapped Flash.
What can I say, it's cheap entertainment.
Also, the zip password is important to maintaining the security of the
object path. I honestly do not believe any object paths that are being
compromised are being "sniffed" to have the PW derived from browser
communication. I believe it is far more likely that common AW objects in
object paths are being used for comparison, cutting down on the time to
crack the password. If you are able to provide a special program an unzipped
example of a .rwx file, then give it the zip with that file inside, password
protected, it takes FAR less time to crack the password than with a "brute
force" crack. I believe Andras has come up with a tool for inserting comment
lines, to take the text of .rwx files inside zips to a non standard file VS.
the stock AW objects downloaded.
Can anyone think of any points I've missed? And ENZO - I don't envy you
the job of cleaning up this mess tomorrow morning - :)

I have done the nessisary "poking and prodding"
The files from the Tunnel Exploit are as follows
C:\WINDOWS\msagent\msnmel.com
C:\WINDOWS\system32\dxdgns.dl
C:\WINDOWS\system32\msbbfe.com
These files are the virus Backdoor-AMQ
According to a McAfee virus listing, it is quite easy to remove.
http://us.mcafee.com/virusInfo/default.asp?id=description&virus_k=100037
I checked my virus quarentine box's registry, i saw no registry entry.
But i believe he may have gotten the source or modified it some way.
I am writing this post as i gain more information. So far, i have
removed C:\WINDOWS\msagent\msnmel.com, but the other two are having a
pissing fit. Right now the best thing you can do is goto
http://www.kerio.com and block the virus from being accessed. The
connections are being made through Windows Explorer
(C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe) replacing this file WILL NOT HELP. I will reply to
this post when I am able to remove the virus from the quarentine box
successfully.
-Ep0ch, and finally a christmas gift from him!

Killing winlogin.exe will allow you to delete dxdgns.dll and msbbfe.com. I
apologise for the wrong filename on dxdgns.dll, but typos have a way of
creeping up on you.

Yes, after I did the following -
Deleted C:\WINDOWS\msagent\msnmel.com, then killing the process winlogon.exe
i was able to delete C:\WINDOWS\system32\dxdgns.dll and
C:\WINDOWS\system32\msbbfe.com quite easily. Afterwards, I just rebooted the
box it works fine, and no virus. Matt is an insufferable git with a large
ego. The virus he used is quite simple to remove. Hes just a script kiddie
using tools to do his "Social Engineering".
