What about this is sending my bots into fits of repeating and repeating and
repeating? I literally have to turn the program off to get them to stop :o/ cmd={} hear=translate say1=Online translators http://www.tranexp.com:2000/Translate/ or http://www.google.com/language_tools or http://babelfish.altavista.com/. X1 wish list...Jan 12, 2005, 5:20pm
It would be nice if each bot within x1 could have their own dialog script
instead of all three using the same one. Also, I would love to see each bot be able to save Show Absent if you check it, meaning once check it stays on until you uncheck it ... I use this feature alot. As a side note, I'm having an aweful time with the newest version and running existing scripts like my weather script and a couple of others. Anyone else having a problem with it? I've copied all scripts to the Users folder but some just don't seem to work or don't work right :o/ I've gone back to 506 and 605 for now. LNH -- X1 wish list...Jan 12, 2005, 5:40pm
Yep they are, there are only two files, the realweather script and the
lightdata script ... both are in the User folder. However they do refer to web urls to get weather data ... perhaps that's where the snag is? I see only one file in download when there should be three as the weather script accesses three txt files on the web but only one is showing up there :o/ LNH Thanks for your reply! -- [View Quote] X1 wish list...Jan 13, 2005, 4:45pm
Thanks for the reply, this might be somewhat over my head but I'll check
into it. LNH -- [View Quote] Bot hostingJan 14, 2005, 12:40am
I'm looking for a hosting company for my websites, but would like to
consider including bot servers on my domains from whichever host I change to soon. I'm not looking to pay for bot hosting as a separate feature but as part of whatever hosting package I decide on. Thanks for your input tho. More to the point for me is that those who hosts bots ... who is THEIR hosting company LOL. LNH -- [View Quote] Bot Newbie Worker HereFeb 25, 2005, 6:28pm
That tutorial is great, I also did one ... not sure if it's as good but I
follow it LOL http://aeon.dwdc.net/web/XelagSurveys.html LNH -- [View Quote] Bot Newbie Worker HereFeb 26, 2005, 2:34am
Thanks! Kewl there too hun, nice job. That was just a tutorial link tho the
main page is here, check out the Gallery under Navigation bar for my free stuff :o} http://aeon.dwdc.net/web/index.html I'm currently feverishly working on my *new play site*, you can take a peek here ... http://dwdc.net/nuke/index.php ~ yes ... PHP, what a chore this is to use LOL wweeeeeeeeeeeee! ~ LNH -- [View Quote] Tourist AvatarsMar 28, 2005, 4:48pm
Far as I know tourists only have a choice of the first two on the list, you
can change those two to whatever you like. I'm not aware that tourists have any other options. I've tried to use my X1 to change tourists to other avs but it doesn't work, and even if it did I'm pretty sure the tourist isn't able to see other than the 1st two avs ... I believe it has something to do with them logging in as a "tourist" ... somewhere in that part of the program is the control for what they can wear. LNH -- [View Quote] Bot for locating objects causing error messagesApr 12, 2005, 7:47pm
I'm pretty good at finding these offenders if you can get me near where you
think it is LOL. And with bot access you can do a survey of the area you think the offending object is and find it that way too. LNH -- [View Quote] Bot to Protect Private AvsApr 17, 2005, 5:23am
Actually it's four special seqs per special av ... AW's info here
http://www.activeworlds.com/help/aw36/special_avatars.html LNH -- [View Quote] Bot to Protect Private AvsApr 17, 2005, 7:23pm
I don't have special in my av list, I do however have five special avs as
shown on that webpage and all five show only to those that are PS (public speaker, bold). I don't see that what you say is the case since I've not specifically included special avs in my list but since I do have them in avs folder they are showing up. And yes, I do agree they are 251 - 255 (for bot purposes I understood), this I've seen when using my bot but the #'g isn't something we do but aw recognizes for *special avs* right. Other av #'g starts at 0 and 1 for tourists. So I gather you can have 0 - 250 *normal avs* then 251 - 255 bot or special avs. Can you explain or put up some example text of how one puts specials on the av list? Do you agree that there are still four seqs allowed for these special avs? If so, what would be a sample av dat with four seqs included? If more than four seqs allowed how would one put those on av dat? Thanks, LNH -- [View Quote] Bot to Protect Private AvsApr 17, 2005, 7:29pm
Where did you get this info? Now you got me curious LOL. Someone apparently
needs to update their webpages :o/ Can we put the special avs anywhere in the list except the very first two spots 0 and 1 (which are tourists) ... or do these specials have to be the last five on the list? Curious ... since I cannot find anything to confirm what you are saying. Not saying yer fibbing, I'm sure yer not ... just wondering why AW hasn't put this info up *somewhere* :o/ LNH -- [View Quote] Bot to Protect Private AvsApr 18, 2005, 12:57am
Day/night bot?Jun 17, 2005, 4:43am
I use X1 bot with panther1403's script (very complicated changing the
settings tho, messed up my world alot while I was first using it LOL) ... you can d/l them from the link on x1 scripts page links section. LNH [View Quote] Missing topicsJun 20, 2005, 10:40pm
Actually the server was offline during some of that time I think ... not
this past week but the week before or the week before that? Was down for about a week. LNH [View Quote] BETA TESTERS needed for Xelagot 3.613Jan 20, 2006, 5:56am
I think I saw it suggested to drag the bot's icon into the startup menu on
yer puter ... not sure how that worked out tho. Also you can add a command line in any script, called *run*, it goes directly below the [Settings] section like this [Settings] Origin=0.000n 0.000w 0.00a 0.0 run Then whenever the bot looses it's connection, and as long as a script is loaded with run command there, it should start up. Give those suggestions a try :o} Good luck! LNH [View Quote] X1 avatar lists for caretaker botsDec 20, 2005, 6:26pm
Did you only change worlds, or did you change universes? If you changed
universes you would have to reflect that change in your bots menu. If you only changed worlds then your av list might be different than it was. If your bots were wearing *special* avs, the #s for those are: 251-255, rather than a regular # like 10, or 25. Av lists start at 0 & 1 which are always tourist avs, then from 2 through how many ever avs you have, except specials which are as stated above. I've made all my bots as specials only that way only they or CTs can wear those special avs. LNH [View Quote] X1 avatar lists for caretaker botsDec 23, 2005, 11:53pm
Well I see no one else has replied so I'll do my best to help ya. I've got a
couple of dumb questions first: 1) For your avatars on BOTH worlds, did you make a separate op (object path) for each world? ex: World1 folder with avatars, models, seqs, sounds and texture folders; World2 folder with avatars, models, seqs, sounds and textures folders? 2) OR, are both worlds sharing the same op? 3) Did you zip each avatars.dat file before u/l each to their respective avatars folders? LNH [View Quote] How bots see avatarsJun 4, 2006, 7:42pm
Actually it's like this,
It's really not necessary to put a subheading before your tourists since they are automatically the first two on the list. Tourist One (av #0) Tourist Two (av #1) *Guest AVs* <<< do NOT have geometry= line here at all, just av begin, section name, av end If you have geometry line here then aw thinks it's an av, not a subheading :o} Your Guest (av #2) Your Guest (av #3) Your Guest (av #4) *PRIVATE AVs* <<< do NOT have geometry= line here at all, just av begin, section name, av end If you have geometry line here then aw thinks it's an av, not a subheading :o} Private AV (av #5) Private AV (av #6) You can't actually wear a subheading if no geometry line used so it's not actually an av anymore (like it use to be). Specials can have a subheading but like Tourists they will show directly under the subheading on the main list, not under the subheading section. LNH [View Quote] logging in the botsJun 5, 2006, 10:30pm
X1 bots are currently not able to log in that I can tell. I have the 60 SDK,
etc, but can't get my X1s in yet. I have gotten both the Preston & Magsbot in, as well as my own bot creation working fine :o} I think XeLaG is still working on his bot for 4.1 release. LNH [View Quote] logging in the botsJun 6, 2006, 3:45am
YAY, *had faith* ... but in all fairness the fact that the others have
released theirs has given me the opportunity to try them out ... have been an X1 gal for the most part LOL. I have to say, that Magsbot has ALOT of features, but abit complicated to learn (for me anyway) ... like I have yet to figure out if it logs IPs ... although I do love that it does *log chat, etc*. Great bot, having lotsa fun with it! I need to figure out how to run it off another cit. And Preston ... I love the Dictionary part ... I love that this bot will teleport anyone in my world (within range of the bot that is) that says the right *trigger words*, kinda like an automated tour ... I'm learning alot about this bot and having a great time with it too. I need to figure out how to run it on my *other cit* also. What I miss that my X1s give me is that it logs IPs in a log window. I miss the comfort of the known! I miss that I can log three bots in at once, all on the same cit (or another cit). These two both probably log IPs, I haven't figured it out yet LOL Hats off to you Magine & Ima :o} I am also making my own bot from scratch (Dev-C++) and hope to eventually have it do all the things I'd like a bot to do. I'm still using the Dos console window, cause I don't know how to make a log window yet LOL. Lots to learn! I can only hope my bot will work as well as these others *someday* :o} LNH [View Quote] My home made bot's av gets bumped outJun 7, 2006, 5:05pm
If I loose my connection to the world server, my bot's avatar disappears,
however the bot (MS-Dos console) is still running even tho I don't see the bot's avatar or name. Does anyone know how I can have the bot attempt to restart after a disconnect ... or program her better so her av shows again after a disconnect? Andras helped me with alot of the programming, I think he used C to do it in. I'm using Dev-C++ tho. Thanks in advance. Lady NightHawk Eclipse Evolution (Build 269)Jun 22, 2006, 12:18am
You can now put global sound in an object (or objects) in your GZ, mind you
this won't make noise if the person enters another area (where you don't have a global sound) ... but it works pretty good as I've been using it. Do action something like this ... bump noise yoursoundhere global I use it in GZ at Aeon where I have a rotating object on the floor of my GZ .... once the person bumps the object I hear the sound (so will anyone else in world) :o} LNH [View Quote] SDK Developers : Pissed OffJun 20, 2006, 12:23am
*Waits for the DevTeam to decide to remove the awsdk.license* ... it's a
dang nuisance for bot programmers & users alike ... if someone abuses their privileges in aw just ban em, don't make us all suffer ... please??? As a *new programmer* that license has given me more fits with my poor baby bot than any other single issue! I thank God for Andras, and the other programmers that help me sort it all out! Another huge annoyance, is the chs###.tmp files that ZoneAlarm keeps warning me about ... it now only does it for bot use which I'm sure is somehow linked to that goofy license!? Every time I start my bot I get the chs file warning and after a couple of days when I look in ZA there a zillion of those stupid files in there that I have to delete. Can't you just make one file, or better yet ... NO FILE? Thanks for fixing the box issue tho, that rocks, and it is appreciated!
