lady nighthawk // User SearchA swear filter...Sep 2, 2004, 7:46pm
It's not mean to be funny, it's mean to signify the person saying it is
laughing. LNH -- [View Quote] Numbered av list...Nov 18, 2004, 1:23pm
Not only would a drop down menu be nice, but have it auto-number the avs
starting from 0 for the 1st tourist. I have #s in front of my av names but the avs change so often that it's a real chore to renumber, renumber, renumber :o/ It would be nice if aw could have a drop down list but somewhat excel style in which any used space has a # before it, and the only thing that would change would be the av names as we do now ... but at least we wouldn't have to go through and renumber them as each space would have it's default # (like a spreadsheet). The reason I # my avs is for easier finding when the list gets large ... I can tell the guys to look at avs #'d sonso through sonso, etc. Also, bots use av #s not av names so without av #s on the list I literally have to count down from 0 to whatever to get the av # I want so the bot can make the change :o/ LNH -- chat relay bot for GateNov 23, 2004, 5:14pm
Great suggests Tart ... I hope AWI takes you up on this idea! Of course,
there are those that will just come in, swear a string of words and leave before CA can eject, then come back and do it again. Rather than *changing the words to something nicer or funny* I think those words should just be blanks for which the CA sees as flooding and ejects because people that do this do it on purpose to annoy and should be ejected. So, a sentence like *^%$# &*(*^% ^^%$$&* *&^(##%$ would be seen as a bunch of blanks by the CA and the offender ejected. Then you have those that mask swearing and that would of course be harder to track down by a bot, thus GKs are still needed if they can catch the lil brats LOL. Even if they do, log off, change IP addy, log back on and start all over :o/ Which brings me back to my previous suggestion of banning people by their computer ID. Computer IDs are hard to fake. I don't mean permanently ban but perhaps for a week by computer ID might knock some sense into some and if not then ban them from awgate at least (and maybe even other AWI worlds or G-rated worlds for instance). I have two banned by computer ID and have seen them try to re-enter (I recognize their IPs which are similar but not exactly the same) and they can't get in. Banning by computer ID is much more effective than by IP which if dynamic is useless. They will literally have to be on a different computer to enter. I'd always give my online nick, not much point in having a nick if you use
your real name imho. LNH -- [View Quote] chat relay bot for GateNov 23, 2004, 7:36pm

Why not ban repeat offenders? There are certain people that should be
permanently banned, I can think of a couple right off the top of my head! LNH -- [View Quote] [awgate] flagsDec 1, 2004, 3:54am

STOP downloading...Jan 11, 2005, 8:34pm
I hate it when AW browser crashes, I restart it and then I get a mess of d/l
timeout errors when I already see everything around me. I know, the timeouts are on my OP server end ... but since I see everything it's a royal pita to get some 250+ d/l timeout errors when a simple STOP download button or feature would be nice :o/ LNH -- Properties BoxFeb 1, 2005, 11:16pm
I use the keyboard to move stuff, not the buttons in the object dialog box
.... how bout you folks ... which do you use to build? keyboard keys object dialog buttons both? Only thing in the object dialog box I use is undo for which I don't know the corresponding keyboard key LOL. LNH -- [View Quote] Properties BoxFeb 2, 2005, 1:02am

Multipath for all AWI OPs...Jan 20, 2005, 8:39am
Why can't all AWI OPs be joined for use in all AWI building worlds? Why not
allow the use of AW, Megapath, Mars, ObjectD', etc, to be shared in all building worlds? Why limit AW to just AW op, Megapath to just Megapath op? Well ok Megapath and ObjectD' aren't building worlds but they are free objects offered by AWI ... so why not allow use of all their OPs in any of their build worlds? I was building at a gift site the other day in aw and was thinking how great it would be if I could have a megapath item for use there :o/ LNH -- Multipath for all AWI OPs...Jan 21, 2005, 4:14am
Ya that's true but if it's not doubled up would be nice to be able to use it
in other worlds ... prolly too much work for them to sort em all out LOL. LNH -- [View Quote] Multipath for all AWI OPs...Jan 22, 2005, 5:34am
Well I think the reason it's too complicated is even if they did that some
of the objects have the same name but aren't the same objects. So if in alphworld I used door5 and in mars I used door5 ... but they aren't the same door, my builds using that door might wind up with the wrong door. If they rename mars to mdoor5 then all the door5 in mars wouldn't load because the door name is wrong ... or if the paths are then joined door5 from aw would load instead of door5 from mars. Confusing enough? LOL no wonder they don't bother... LNH -- [View Quote] Setting Visibility...Jan 28, 2005, 4:59pm
I'd like to be able to set a default myself and not have to be forced to
accept float and change after. I would be nice if we could set our own default visibility and have the browser remember that. LNH -- Setting Visibility...Feb 1, 2005, 11:14pm
Well I didn't mean just for one world I mean just have a preferred default
for all worlds, you can always up it once you get to another world that might require that ... I would want my default at 60 (instead of float for me which currently is more like 110) and then if I want to raise my vis I can do that later. LNH -- [View Quote] Sectioned Drop Down AV list...Jan 30, 2005, 4:44am
Would be great to have a drop down av list but also one that you can
conveniently add subtitles to without the browser looking for an av where there shouldn't be one. Categories that you can name yourself would rock! Then you could organize your avs into sections under each category for male, female, private, for sale or whatever :o} LNH -- Drop Menu Sequences?Jan 31, 2005, 8:04pm
Great suggestions you two!
It would be nice to also sort *paid for* seqs from freely gotten seqs. I know, anyone can get any seq, doesn't make it right tho ... especially if someone took the time to make it and sells it. Some people ask for someone to make them seqs exclusively only for others to see them and help themselves. There should also be a way to protect seqs if you have paid for them, without exposing your op pw in the process :o/ LNH -- [View Quote] Drop Menu Sequences?Jan 31, 2005, 8:58pm
Sure, but pw'g it leaves it open to hacking if it can be viewed as a text
file, or so I'm told ... that's how OP pws are stolen is because people pw protect their seqs :o/ If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will *correct me* or even elaborate further. LNH -- [View Quote] Drop Menu Sequences?Feb 1, 2005, 1:46pm
Ya but aren't they read in text format from a seq or some other text
readable file? LNH -- [View Quote] Terrain options...Jan 31, 2005, 9:05pm
It would be nice if we could do sets of terrain, I know we get 0 - 64 now
but I find that I've used up most of those just on one theme (ex: summer). It would be nice if we could have sets of terrain files 0 - 64, maybe four sets, one for each season. So instead of just 64 total we could have up to 256 terrain files but still only use up to 64 within a set. Then just pick in world features which set we'd like to use and have them change all at once. For that matter we could include the skybox IF someone wanted to change that to match the season terrain they're using. I can see one problem with this idea and that is areas in a world that have terrain manually changed. Like my world, most is a summery kind of look but there is an area that is full winter all year round. In that instance I'd probably have to go back to that area and manually change that back to winter. Unless some sort of *leave manual changes as is* is built in to your seasons set changes. LNH -- Terrain options...Feb 1, 2005, 3:20am
Ya well that's my beef, you gotta rename or move the old ones so you can use
the next set :o/ I think we should have more and in sets to start with, so we'd tell the world we want to use set 1 which is 0 - 64, or set 2 which is 65 - blah blah blah (too tired to do the math LOL). Right now it's a whole lotta copyin over, just saying a few more sets of 64 would be nice :o} LNH -- [View Quote] Contact lists...Feb 1, 2005, 7:51pm
I believe it's already been requested to categorize this but what really
urks me is to have to keep people on my contacts that I want no contact with. A separate *block em every which way from sunday / mute on site* feature would be nice. The list would be kept separate from *normal contacts* and you can either show these people or not, but I'd be willing to bet that most of us would prefer NOT to see them! Once I block someone in that way I likely won't ever want contact with them again ... but should I change my mind at some point future there should be an *undo* feature. LNH -- Bring back docked tabs window!Feb 23, 2005, 9:06pm
I have my tabs window the full length of my screen and to the left of my
main aw browser window. I leave it open all the time and were it not for it being an actual window of it's own it pretty much looks like it use to as far as where it *sits*. It's also the full height of my browser and about 1-1/2" wide, the browser window takes up the remainder of my desktop view to the right of the tabs window. I don't use aw's built in web browser cause I don't like how it takes away from my view screen so I view webpages outside of aw. Perhaps instead of treating it like a separate window ... set it up so that it is close to what it looked like before like I've done? LNH -- [View Quote] Auto-AFKMar 14, 2005, 7:39am
And also maybe a few diff reasons why your away? Like a drop down box with
Busy, BRB, Phone, etc LNH -- [View Quote] Auto-AFKMar 21, 2005, 7:20pm
It's a ? so you can't tell whether the user is online or not online. Has
nothing to do with AFK. Those putting their online status of ? generally don't want some or all users to know if they are in aw or not. Personally I'd just as soon see a block user feature in which you don't have to leave those ya don't want contact with on your contact list. LNH -- [View Quote] |
