<-------applauds and agrees ;-"D. I seem to remember a lonnnnnnnng time
ago, Alpha Bit suggested a gathering place at AWGZ for all the people that like to hang out at the gate area. I loved that idea but for some reason nobody utilized it. GZ is usually empty, as are a lot of other worlds. With so many cits not able to afford to renew, and for a time AW didn't allow tourists, it made sense for those expired cits to visit the gate area to visit their buddies that they knew hung out there. However, now that Alphaworld allows tourists once again, I think this idea should be reconsidered. Let's face it, GK bashing at the gate does not leave a good impression on potential customers of AW. Nor do people assuming they can cyber with anyone, not realizing the ages of the folks there. Nor does any kind of beligerent behavior or "adult" type of conversations. Debates sometimes turn nasty or may insult new people who hold different opinions. Why should we scare away potential customers and then complain that AW is dying? Doesn't make sense. If we want things to improve or possibly (remotely) rates to come down some, we need to look at the consequences of our actions. I think that EP has a great idea. the middle of a set of signs that post the rules and expectations of the Gate to all who enter it. This would make it much simpler fo rthe user to see and hopefully read and understand. Could be in Eng/Span/Jap/Ger/ and even Russian, so that it would cover a wide range of users that visit from all over the world.<<<< All AW needs to do is post a bunch of signs in several languages explaining the basic rules in the gate area and perhaps how to get around in that language. Most of the time the poor GK's have no idea how to instruct someone who needs help in another language. Especially if it is a language using different symbols such as Arabic. ;-"D [View Quote] GK'sDec 18, 2003, 1:51pm
For some people that 7 bucks (USA) a month, is affordable. For people like
me it is not. For that 7 bucks a month I can feed my family for 4 or 5 days .. And when I was unemployed this past summer, believe me, that 7 bucks a month really went far. ( I had anemia because I didnt' eat any red meat for over 5 months because we were THAT broke!) For some other people who live in other countries that 7 bucks a month is even more. I can't quote you the figures in their currency cus to be quite honest I don't wanna spend the time to look it all up to make my point. And no, I wasn't recieving Unemployment benefits or food stamps while I was unemployed. We were barely scraping by and I literally depleted whatever we had in our kitchen cabinets just to feed my child first and then us. Yes, I have a job now. But now that money is being used to eat better and for Christmas and to get caught up with bills. So you see........ not everyone can afford 7 bucks a month for a chat program online. We were lucky to afford to pay our electric bill and cable, rent and heat with the little bit Lion earned. You should not assume everyone has it as good as you dear. ;-") [View Quote] Happy Holidays!Dec 19, 2003, 4:44pm

OMG!!!!! Please tell FF I also support him on this matter. I had noooooo
idea till last night. FF is such a special person to us all and I'd hate for him to be hurt. The poor guy. All he wants is love and acceptance and is so trusting, or was. Breaks my heart to see something like this happen. ;-"< [View Quote] btw, EP >: /Dec 21, 2003, 1:09pm
This is not hate. This is outrage at your deceptive behavior towards someone
with special needs. Online relationships are hard enough. It's difficult to judge what gender we are really speaking with online, let alone whether they are telling the truth about marital status and age also. In FF's case, I'm sure things like that never even crossed his mind. It probably never occurred to him to verify whether the person he was falling in love with was being honest with him. How dare you turn this around and try to make US feel guilty for trying to help him understand what is going on and for supporting him??? You had plenty of opportunities to tell him the truth and didn't. You think he wouldn't have found out eventually? How long were you going to let this go on? Were you planning on keeping this relationship a virtual one? You do realize of course, that FF would have gone out of his way to meet you in person and who knows what would have happened after that. How long were you going to lead him on? When were you going to tell him the truth? After the two of you got married in RL? A true loving relationship needs honesty to last. I have no hatred against T/S or T/G's. I have met a few of them in my lifetime and they are great people. It's the online deception of a special needs person that pisses me off. Do FF a favor and leave him alone. Go find someone who will accept you without all that online baloney. Yes its ok to find someone to love and who loves you back. But at least be honest about it if yer gonna do that online or all you will find is misery. [View Quote] [NG Survivor 2] We're still alive, at least 12 of us are..Aug 6, 2002, 11:15pm
Ok, so I was "ticked off". Doesn't mean I'm giving up on the game. I'm sure
I'm not the only one who got ticked off about something during this contest. Lately there's been a lot of vandalism in both the camps and everyone has different schedules in real life. It is difficult to get everybody in at the same time, especially I think because the majority live and work in the states and the challenges we need to show up for seem to be scheduled for a weekday evening while most of us are at work. Let's face it, it is nearly impossible to schedule something that is convenient for everyone since we all live in different time zones and some of us have job and family responsibilities. It certainly didn't help when the object path went haywire and a lot of our objects went missing (And no Nornny or other caretaker to oversee the vandalism) Of course we're getting frustrated and disgusted. I knew the biggest challenge I would have to face would be to balance my time tween home, work and Survivor, especially when I can't be in more than one place at one time. But I'm far from "giving up". ;-"/ > > [NG Survivor 2] We're still alive, at least 12 of us are..Aug 8, 2002, 12:15pm

Dearest Diary,
What an interesting week this has been. On Monday I sent Nornny an email telling him I would probably be there for "the Twist", but on Tuesday I recieved a call at work telling me a good friend of my family died unexpectantly. The last thing on my mind was anything online except to try to get a hold of some people via email to let them know of the funeral arrangements, etc. Needless to say I missed "the Twist" and didn't get back online again until Thursday evening after the funeral. Imagine my surprise at being picked for Newebi!! LOL. Although I was a bit shocked at having to switch tribes, I thought of it as a new challenge and a good chance to get to know Mongo. We didn't really get much of a chance to talk before, when we were on opposing teams. Even though my heart just wasn't into competing, I tried the River Cross game. The first time I played I got no farther than the 5th level and scored 1460. The second time I played I got over 4000 and made it to the 7th level. The third time I played I thought to myself, "why am I going past the second level? That's the easiest one." I stayed in the second level and managed to score 5328. I tried about 6 more times and couldn't get any farther than 3000. So I sent my saved screen shot to Nornny with the 5328. Then Saturday morning TheLion (my husband) was playing and scored over 6000. Figures. hahahaha. When I entered NGS2002 on Thursday evening I found our new camp easily. It was very bare, except for a lot of signs, Ambie's pillow (?), a tent, some flames and torches, our flagpole, and some circular wire.rwx thing that I'm told was on the ground for my tribemates to put their luxury items on. Somebody had also found my lake and placed it nearby. We had plenty of water since our camp was just over a hill from the river.rwx. I noticed our camp was also right up against the tribal plateau. We could certainly use that as part of our shelter. I explored a little bit to see what the other tribes looked like. I easily found what was left of Robego, but it looked stripped bare, and was deserted. I also found the other camp of Tiveac which was surrounded by trees. Ambie sure was busy trying to organize things for their tribe, and she did a great job of keeping it safe from predators and trouble making birds. It looks wonderful ;-"D Yesterday I went back to our camp a few times to look things over and try to get some ideas on what to do and how to do it. I figured we could have a garden with all that water nearby. And since the ground there is damp, trees would have no problem growing either. Before I set to work, I grammed Eric and Mongo to see if they minded me building our camp shelter. I certainly didn't want to create any ill feelings this time around. Mod wasn't logged on, so I couldn't ask him. I set to work immediately after getting the ok from 2 of my tribe mates. I planted trees, and lashed together some palm trees to form 2 walls for our shelter. The only thing that wire.rwx thing is good for is a gate. I planted some cattails around my lake to keep the bugs away, and they're good eating too ;-"). I found a couple of apple trees, which will come in handy for snacks. And of course some grapevines to provide us with fresh fruit and also raisins ;-"D. I placed the signs on the outter walls of our shelter for us to use for messages and whatnot. We also have 4 picture objects. Hmmmmmm......maybe we can use those to post our pics? Will have to discuss that with my tribe mates. All we need now is a roof, which somebody else can do sometime or i can do tomorrow. I'm pooped now. Time to get some sleep. I found a cozy little niche tween one of the trees and the tribal plateau cliff wall. hehehe. Nitey nite everyone. ~ ;-"D > From the Newbie's Guide to the AW NG: > > "Nornny11 - The original wishy-washy man, this one can actually insult you > and compliment you in the same breath, and in the end say absolutely > nothing! To quote a line from one of your other posts, Nornny, you said, "You can have 30 unique objects, or have more than one object. "..................................... Also..... > Lioness and maki showed signs of betrayal > against their tribe, > I think its time to clear the air AGAIN, Nornny! Maki and I did NOT conspire against anybody at ANY time! There was NO betrayal. Just some misunderstandings and miscommunication on my part. I have not, and will not conspire against anybody in this game. Nornny, you not only have a knack for making people look bad, but also for misunderstanding things. Glad I saved chat. And no hon, this isn't altered in any way. We did not agree to all fall off and vote off one of the four who couldn't attend. We were not picking numbers. Sorry hon. At first I thought to myself "this seems reasonable", but since I
have been playing by the rules from the get go, and have been playing those challenges honestly and will continue to do so, and since I refuse to change my morals just because I am "playing" a game,..... I have changed my mind. I'm afraid that if we do something like that, then everyone and their brother will be doing graphic tricks to make their score look impressive. It's not fair to those of us who are too honest to do that. If Jerme did cheat, it makes me extremely upset because I watched my daughter try her best to get that high score and she is the one who got our original score of 538 (honestly) without any fouls and without copy and pasting a cheat score. I will NOT sacrifice what I feel to be right just to allow someone else a better chance at "winning" this game or any game. It's not how I was raised and it's not the example I want to set for my daughter. And if I am the only one left who feels that way, so be it. And if ya'll want to cheat out everyone else to win a virtual world, so be it. Just goes to show what our world has come to these days. No honesty left. ;-"/ [View Quote] [NG Survivor 2] Cast your vote!Sep 15, 2002, 7:49pm
Dear Diary,
Wow! What an interesting coupla weeks this has been. Out of the blue Gandalf telegrams me to ask me to form an alliance. This is the first time he's made any attempt to get to "know" me better or even "speak" to me. Even though my instinct warns me not to, I gram him back to say yes to his suggestion. I wanted to give it a try, despite the warnings others have sent me about trusting him. Eric confides in me. I promised not to tell anyone what he told me. And I felt a bit sorry for him and knowing he has so many votes already cast against him, I vote for someone else in my tribe who doesn't have as many. Sad to say, Mongo somehow gets voted off. I never expected anyone to vote for Mongo. He's such a great team player and very nice. (sigh) He's carried our tribe through more than any of us did. Guess he was too much of a threat to my tribe mates. I'm still not sure how I won the Immunity Challenge. One minute I'm standing on top of my pole like everyone else....I take a moment to look at my daughter while she's speaking to me, and "Wallah!" ....I'm instantly transported back to where ever and my daughter is asking me what happened. Everything happened so fast, I spent the next 10 mins scrolling back on the chat to see what happened. It was great to see everyone working hard on moving our objects to our new camp. Ambie sure did a great job picking our name. Maybe one of these days when I log into the world, Nornny will have left the lights on so's I can see what I'm doing in there. I'd love to be able to help my tribe mates organize our camp...or at least get some of those trees out of the clouds. :-"/ The challenges have been fun so far. I have to admit I was shocked to learn of the possibility that some of my tribe mates have been cheating. And I was shocked to learn that it is accepted. (shakes head). I don't blame BB a bit for resigning. One spends hours trying to beat his personal best on a game and for what??????? When I think of all the times my little girl tried her best at those games....just so she can feel included in this contest.......JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZ it burns me up!!!!!! BB I will miss you and I understand why you did what you did. But as much as I support you on your decision, I feel the need to stay in this game and go as far as I can playing honestly. I don't play "hardball". I truly believe in letting people "hang" themselves so to speak. Give em enuf rope....... hehehe. ;-"D Today was interesting, to say the least. I was a bit surprised by the turnout at Tribal Council. There were more people there today than have gone recently. The outcome was shocking too. But not the betrayal. Funny how Eric voted for Maki for something that I supposedly did. Eric felt betrayed by something I said, and voted Maki off to get back at me I suppose. Seems like a cowardly thing to do in my opinion. Why didn't he vote for me instead???? Why Maki??? Is he THAT much of a threat???? Some people seem to have the wrong impression of me. I DON'T have any alliances. I have friendships and respect for certain people. When I went into this game there were a couple of people I met before, but really didn't know well. Most of the people though I only knew from seeing their names in the ngs. Over time however, and through getting to know each other I have gained respect for some individuals. If someone goes out of their way to get to know me or anyone as a person, they have my respect. If they exhibit an interest in playing this game fairly, they have my respect. If they truly care about the other players in this game, they have my respect. If friendship is mistaken for an alliance, then that is the misconception of the person who feels threatened by it. Maki was one of those people, who not only tried to get to know me, but he participated in more challenges and helped more often in camp than some others in this game. Maki never asked me to form any alliance and I never even thought of asking him. And I won't ask anyone else either. Is Eric going to vote off another person that I respect just to "punish" me for saying something he disagreed with?????? If so.....he will hang himself in front of not only the ng readers but also in front of the newly formed Jury. It is an immature thing he has done. And cowardly. Next time Eric, vote for me. I'm a big girl. I can take it. And by the way Eric.....I STILL have not disclosed to ANYONE what you confided in me.....although now it is very tempting to do so. Hmmmmmmmm...... ;-") [View Quote] [NG Survivor 2] No shades of greySep 20, 2002, 3:34am
NGSurvivor has been an emotional roller coaster for me. Voting people
off is like voting off people from your own family. It is a painful process to try to figure out who is more deserving to be voted off. You have to weigh the pros and the cons and try to forget how nice they are. Personally I think Tribal Reckoning was easier on the heart. It's a shame I never got to know pixelot. In fact, I'm not sure anybody really got to know him. I wonder if anybody had the chance to talk with the guy. Same with Shorah. Did Shorah even say hello to anyone? I wish I had the opportunity to do more than send a telegram saying hello. I was a little surprised however when Joeman was voted off. He seemed like a nice enough fellow. Jerme and I had the opportunity to joke around for a little while one night, not too long before he was thrown off the plateau. He seemed like a team player, eager to help, and nice to everyone (so it seemed to me). I hope it's true that he didn't cheat on the spear throwing challenge. ;-"< I already miss Mongo. He and I hit it off pretty nicely when we first met. After chatting with each other one evening, I found out he lives only an hour from me. He worked hard on fixing up the camp and tried to make it to as many challenges as he could. I want him to know I did not vote him off that fateful day. I literally picked a name from a basket because I could not decide for myself who I would vote for. Unfortunately Mod's name was chosen. I will miss Mongo's presence in Camp CaCa, but thank goodness I still bump into him once in a while. When Maki was voted off I almost cried. Here is a guy who made it to more challenges than some of the rest of us. He participated in building camp. He even located some "missing" objects one day, which someone had hidden under a hill. He minded his own business. He never got in the middle of any disputes. But it seems there was a posse out for him from day one. I STILL can't figure out why he was so much of a threat to some people in there. Is it because he refused to join the "Gandalf Alliance"???? ( Brrrrrrrrrrr.......just the sound of that phrase feels evil and gives me the heebie jeebies. ) ;-"/ ...At least he is now the first person on the jury. He has a good head on his shoulders and I respect his judgement and opinion. Eric confided something with me and I promised not to tell anyone. We did not have an alliance, but I do consider it a pact between the two of us. It's a shame he does not have the ability to honor what others say to him as well. No integrity at all. Funny how he easily turns things around when he "snitches" on what others say to him. And I think it's amusing how he has to follow the "leader" and does not seem to be able to think for himself. But, hey, on the other hand...how can there be a "leader" if there are no followers??? ;-") I have visited NGS2002 several times this past week to see if anyone has done anything creative with our camp. It seems Ambie, Mod and Builderz did some organizing and building. I noticed some of our trees are still floating in midair, along with some jugs and signs. I ached to put it right, but it was so dang dark in camp. If only NORNNY would turn on the stupid LIGHTS!!!....so someone could see to build in there!!! I only wish I knew who forgot to put out the fire in the fireplace in our cabin. When I got there on Tuesday, some of the hot coals spit out onto the wooden floor and were smoldering away. The interior was filled with smoke. I ran quickly to the well and filled a jug with water to douse the potential sparks. There is now a large burn mark on our floor as a reminder to be more careful. I still am not in an "alliance". I am however developing a friendship with some of my tribe mates that I hope will last a lifetime. NGSurvivor isn't JUST about Outwit, Outflame and Outlast. Nor is it about winning the prize (although that is an incentive) It is about the thrill of the "chase". It is about learning more about yourself and your inner strengths. It is about learning how to get along with other people in a competitive environment. It is about consideration of others. I want to finish this game with, if not the prize, then my self respect. ~ Lioness ;-"D [View Quote] [NG Survivor 2] No shades of greySep 21, 2002, 12:45pm
