Could there not be a situation of enroachment somewhere though if you had
started building before a registry was implemented and then later the
registry was added and the objects that were enroaching were never deleted
or corrected and still would continue to enorach? I haven't played with
registries in a long time either, but wondering if this might be a situation
MrBruce might have ran into? Just curious....it's food for thought anyways!

They need to just get rid of the stupid bot. It does not stop exposure of
explicit language from stuipd morons who cuss and talk dirty all the time at
AWGate. The bot is totally ineffective. In chat environments where there
is not a bot, you do not see this type of stupid activity, it is purely a
game to those who like to test it and they personally don't care if they get
kicked or not. This is why they have Gatekeepers, if they can't do their
job and monitor and eject on such activity then they don't need to be there
or have a bot do their job for them. Build into the CLIENT a filter that by
the OPTION of the USER (option could also be under a parental guidance
control that's password protected so parents who persistently let their kids
on attended or unattended can enable this filter and their child can't turn
it off) on whether or not to allow any recognized cuss words display on
their screen. It would cut out this nonsense childlishness that goes on at
AWGate of people constantly trying to be cute and play with the bot. These
kids know that it's going to make the bot owner add more phrases to the bot,
and therefore cause more problems. So why fall for this stupidity. I've
suggested this feature a 100 times, and of course nobody likes it
apparently, but i guess Activeworlds loves making innocent and new people
mad at the gate when they are kicked for saying something they have no idea
why they got kicked for and do not bother coming back again.

As far as the exe thing..people just need to use common sense. Don't
download any EXE COM BAT or SCR file from anyone! If you are not sure, then
don't download it!

No, ABN TV is not shutting down, so unless you know the facts and work for
ABN TV, don't post stupid crap on this NG about it.

Winner1 is not in charge of job inquiries, so there's no point in gramming
him. Quite the contrary we have plenty of people on the team, but they just
are not doing their jobs. Winner1 is a camera operator. Telegram Gamecube
if you are interested in a job. He will let you know if there are positions
open or not. Do not gram me because I don't know what help management needs
or not at any given time. Only gram if you are serious about volunteering

Not to criticize your idea, but you would be better off if you have remote
access to a server to do some scripting or php as mentioned earlier on the
server end to rotate files. That way your files can be stored on the server
to eliminate repetitious uploading of the same files periodically, reduce
bandwidth, and have an overall more stable system (not to mention it could
run all the time as long as the server was up all the time). There is a php
script someone wrote, I forgot if it's public or not and where it was, that
let's you do this from the server end. Maybe someone knows what I'm talking
about and can help you further with this idea if you think it might be
something you would like to do :) Obviously this idea wouldn't work on a
service like geocities, etc that was intended for webpages only, so this may
not even help you depending on where you are uploading to.

Why? lol....Hangout failed when Ablivion guild broke apart due to the
Activeworlds price increase. If you have money to invest in a 3D community
I would not recommend spending it on the recreation of Hangout.

Anyhows, why would you want to recreate Hangout? You do realize it was a
p-100 world and how much that would cost? Has other people expressed in

I think people should use common sense and instead of ejecting people for
saying any word, simply add a cuss filter into the client. That way if you
dont want to see it, you dont have to, or to keep children from seeing it.
People cuss for kicks at these worlds, and therefore children are therefore
exposed to the language as it is now, so the bot issue isnt really
effective.

Of course you can argue "people will just type in pr1ck" or something to
dodge the filter. In response, so?? Same happens with the bot. Ultimately
a living breathing person has to moderate the topics in the world anyways
and eject those that talk about unacceptable subjects. I can understand not
wanting people being vulgar and talking about things that might detour
newcomers fromcoming back, however having bots eject on cuss words is simply
silly.

a1cttourist5...I see nothing wrong with your post and I do understand how
your question relates to AW even though it was about other software. Just
ignore a few here that like to preach NG etiquette on a daily basis in every
post. Most others already do :) If you ever need any help and can't get
it here on the NG, then feel free to telegram me. I will try to help
