Wow, there's a lot of sound effects and such in there. Great for button
clicks and elevator dings!

How do the note numbers correspond to actual notes? Any way to get it
play a song without a ridiculously complex astart adone thing?

To be fair, if they never updated the program and it still only ran on
win95, they'd have a lot less cits than the few they lose on major upgrades.

I built a new gaming machine to play oblivion.. it was about $500, $200
of that being the video card. The rest being a motherboard, cpu, and a
nice new HD.

I honestly don't trust people with all the privacy features turned on.
Either you're a hermit and hate people (why are you on a social program
then!?!?) or have poor social skills and have made a huge batch of
enemies, or have poor communication skills with your friends and can't
tell them "I'm busy right now"

People tell me "I need them, I have people that harass me! I have
enemies! It's not my fault."

It's pretty hard to make enemies in AW, you have to go out and chose to
do it by being a huge jerk or over-reacting to a jerk, both poor signs
of character. I can be a bit of a jerk at times, been here almost 9
years, never had to mute, eject, or telegram block anyone, ever. It's
not luck. Crazy people harassing you doesn't "just happen".

So when I see Mr. or Mrs. "hide my world, hide my status, approve
everything, block everything", I just think, "social retard not to be
trusted"

The best is coming on to find like 12 holiday tele's for a holiday that
isn't even heard of in your country, or celebrated on a totally

I had to pretty much delete and re-do my entire world after the last
couple upgrades, but that's the price for out shining progress. Keeps
us on our toes!

I've been working on a game for ages, finally finding a programmer who
will actually do the work, I've now been told he won't work on the
project because it's just too much of a pain to program it without being
able to debug things.

Looks like another project down the drain.

Well, talking to maki via telegram I find he sent me two, ah that
happens, sometimes the send hangs and you click again and crazy stuff
happens and poof, 2 telegrams.

The strange thing is that I also got a telegram from "" containing the
text "" (without the quotations marks of course)

Yep, a totally blank telgram from no name. Wierd. Then maki reported
the same thing from me, 2 telegrams and a blank.

What's going on???

If you absolutely need a sound to know when people come in, why not
create a sort of loading/welcome area that traps the people when they
load. Could even set up a no chat zone around them. Then have a lovely
door they need to open to go through into your world, and have a global
sound attached to do the door. Can be a one-way door too to prevent
people from playing the door like a piano ha.

The other day some poeple were talking about buggary without incident,
and when I talked about the peacocks and minature asses at the petting
zoo??? ejected.

It's a little ridiculous. Why not just a word filter like every single
online program with chat? Just a simple text file the user could edit
or add to (or turn off for those of us not in the us) that would blank
or bleep out words that offend your delicate ears.

Imagine. no bots, no ejections, no harsh feelings.

Exactly, they could actually just help and solve situations of abuse,
not try to play censor on top of the bot.

And its fairly obvious that a lot of people only cause trouble since
they know there will be such a violent reaction. A lot of people the
moment they know there's some draconian enefficient punishment for 'bad'
language love to get them selves ejected. And you can say anything you
want, for at least one line. An actual chat filter rather than
knee-jerk ejects... would be lovely

Sounds like he needs to fiddle with the web options in settings.
Perhaps he's got ie so screwed full of spyware and junk like ie tends to
get, it's not opening correctly. And it's often heavily tied to media
player too, which might be screwing up the media openings? I don't
know... just a guess. have him try setting it to use his external
browser, or to download a different browser and use that and see if it
still is broken.

Do activates for non-web stuff work? Like an activate sound or a door?

Right click on the user on your contact list and click on "Send
Telegram", I think that's what you ment to do. It's ok, the NG's are
often confused for personal telegrams.
