Help!

Jul 25, 2002, 12:22pm
You have 2 choices:

1) Lower the ground object .2 meters, or
2) Survey the world, clear it, then rebuild it .2 meters higher, using the
transform tab.

Scripting question -

Nov 7, 2002, 6:25pm
This idea is prompted by a thread over in wishlist, and deals with the
current limitations in the amount of data that can be held on each line of
the worlds rights list. The question would be if it would be possible to
script this solution, using current Xelagot capabilities.

The bot, of course, would be logged into the world using CT rights. It
would be running a script with the following specifications:

1) CT user (owner) would be able to add or delete entries to a master
list, of all people allowed to add/delete building rights.
2) Individuals would be able to come up, and add or delete their own,
individual build rights by talking to the bot.
3) Another possible solution would be to time stamp the entries, and
purge the individuals build rights after a set period - say a week.

Is this possible? Thanks for your time, Mongo (348628)

Scripting question -

Nov 7, 2002, 9:32pm
Not exactly - the idea is to have only the build rights able to be
altered, and to have the individual able to add/remove themselves to the
build line in the worlds rights list. This idea is to get around the size
limitation in the worlds rights page, while protecting the other areas of
the worlds rights list. Sharing a CT PPW would have a similar effect - the
idea is to strictly limit what can be altered on the page, using scripting.

Terrain Eraser!

May 3, 2003, 9:28pm
Easiest method I've found for resetting the terrain data is using a Xelagot.
Save the world terrain data in the terrain manager. Then upload the data,
setting the maximum height and minimum height .01 meters apart (like .01 and
0 meters, or in my case -6 and -6.01 meters). This way, you don't have to
worry about corrupting the data on multiworld server setups, by deleting the
files.

Multiple Citizens

Dec 5, 2004, 11:49pm
Use 2 different AW chat clients, installed to 2 distinct folders. Each one
can hold the login/password of the account you wish to use. I suggest
labelling the icons for the 2 AW programs appropriately. Of course, you'll
only be able to run one at a time.

Trojan warning

Jan 19, 2002, 9:25pm
And then - on a company owned and operated private news group, this MORON is
stupid enough to post that "they" are deleting the citizen records of a
pirated uniserver, indicating administrative level control of this
uniserver. Talk about a smoking gun - I have no law degree, and I could
present a reasonably solid case of criminal intent based on that information
alone. Do yourself, and your parents a favor - shut up.

Jeez - you best hope someone isn't of a mood to forward this back to your
web host. A 15 year old, allows 2 or more people to access his webspace -
then believes his being a juvenile, or not knowing of the nature of the
file, limits his liability? <shakes head>

I've had excellent results with Xitami myself as a web server.

technical skills

Apr 23, 2002, 7:18pm
You're using a VERY similar setup to what I'm using - I was up on win
98SE, now I'm up on win2000. G6 for FTP, and Xitami for the webserver. Your
OS is? Better yet, get ahold of me inworld - I love getting down and geeky,
but I don't wanna bore the heck outta everyone else.

OK, as far as opening ports on ICS <I'm assuming this is what you're
referring to, and this tells me you're up on win98 SE>, go to
http://practicallynetworked.com/ics . This area deals with a slick freeware
port mapping utility.

Does anyone have an xelagot grading bot script

May 1, 2002, 9:44pm
You're talking about subjective judgements there - something that isn't
easily scripted. Now, if you want to back up your build, Xelagot is the
right tool -

May 7, 2002, 3:04am
Read the signup page, moron - you get a free month if you pay a year in
advance. From what I've seen of their service, they're definitely worth the
$3/month.

Off topic: Direct Connection between win98 and win2000

Jul 29, 2002, 2:19pm
What you need is a DOS level version of LapLink3. If you boot into DOS off
of floppy, the installed OS is a moot point. And the versions of Laplink
I've seen are reasonably decent to set up -

[View Quote] Elven -

Some things are universal, regardless of life experience, background,
sexual orientation or fate placing souls in the wrong gender at birth. The
one thing I enjoyed most about Activeworlds, or any online chat medium for
that matter, is that I could be judged strictly on the basis of my actions
and words. I am 6 foot tall, and well in excess of 300 pounds. Believe me,
in NO way am I equating our two conditions in life. The point I'm trying to
make is simple. I approach my experience online bringing to my keyboard my
core values. I am honest to myself, and those I interact with. When I
interact with someone online, I am painfully aware of the fact that my words
can cause pain, as I have felt this pain myself. I don't like it when it
happens to me, so I do not do it to others.
In the impersonal, cold, callous medium where words and text alone can
engender SO many intense, wonderful friendships and relationships, one has
to be careful what one says. I know precious little about you Elven - except
for what I've seen posted in these news groups. I care little for the
content of the posts and issues surrounding you. Any judgements I make are
strictly on the tone and timber of your replies - and they come up lacking.
And believe me - you are FAR from the first person to ever cross dress an
avatar, or an online persona. The ideal, the self image you have for
yourself is easy to perpetuate in Active Wolrds. However, this is far from
fair to those you interact with, especially in am emotional context.

Thus sayeth Mongo.

1) Make sure one of the offensive persons posts are highlighted.
2) From the top drop down menus, select message/block sender.
3) Answer "Yes" when asked by the prompts.

I post this on behalf of Sassysha, who does not currently have an installed
news reader:

From Citizen name: Sassysha

This M a r c u s, explicitly posted this conversation here without My
consent, I told him clearly that I did not want to be part of his crusade.

However, if you will examine the words closely, you will see that I told him
clearly, My pictures were not porn, but art, in a basic little house with a
fire, the decor based on a science fiction novel that I admire.

I apologized for offending him personally and changed one that He had some
problem with, because I am curteous, and dont wish to upset people.

Now, this person, broadcasting My private conversation and name publicly has
angered Me, especially the names of two other people, who have nothing to do
with his "problems".

M a r c u s, I agree there are children in AW, and like with television or
browsing anywhere else on the internet, it is up to their parents to take
care of them ultimately.

I understand your concerns, and enjoy your little battle, build yourself a
house with a nice artwork framed on the wall, and keep Myself and My friends
out of it in future thankyou.

I am not here to be a politician or to have arguments, here to enjoy this
beautiful program in peace thankyou.

Sassysha.
