We are moving our servers!!

I notice they also will not tell anyone the area of the new servers.

Ummmm a question? How does this pertain to most of the NG's you crossposted
to? It should have been put in WORLDBUILDERS and thats it!

*grins at wings* I have to agree I belive it was all blown out of proportion
as well. Barsoom has it's password, and I will be hornswaggled if I am going
to spend another 2 weeks uploading files just to change it unless I "have"
to.

does anyone have an xelagot build grading script

May 3, 2002, 3:01am
Actually I am suspecting that they mean a votign script for people to be
able to come grade the build and have the bot track the "grades".

This if ever added should only be available from the Users setting menu.
Lots of people would like soemthing like this, others would hate it.

They seem to be working on this one.

Can't this already be done with a drag on the window frames of the AW
browser? I did it.

Good idea! I like it.

Interesting concept, only drawback I see to it would be a sky build.

Another idea I like, however it would cause a few nightmares for world
owners who would have to update their paths yet again.

Not for me, but I know quite a few who would love it.

You can already do this. Just not with /me instead just bracket your action
with soemthing. I myself do things like this...
*runs to the door*

> 11) Action Tabs - Some models have several actions associated with them,

Excellent idea here, and one I wholeheartedly support!

> 12) Face animations - I'm not talking about the blinking eyes, moveing

Hmmm, I suspect the implimentation of this one would give Roland fits, but
it is still a good idea. Although as someone who makes avatars I cannot
think of how to pull it off, and have it user activated all off one avatar.
Unless of course the mouth of an avatar were to be made with lip clumps and
custom SEQs written for talking etc.

> 13) Character states - I want my character to sit in a chair and stay

I like this idea, and I do not see any reason it would crash anyone out.
Heck in a frozen state the avatar would lessen lag I would think.

> 14) Particle affects - Players want fountains, let them make fountains.

This would be a bot thign to be honest. I know you may not want to hear
that, but it is the fact. Unless you plan on being at your world 24/7 to
recofig the settings when the times happen.

> 16) Doors with locks - Make it a keypad next to a door, user clicks it,

Great idea!

> 17) User object browser - I have build rights into a world, GREAT! Now

Most worlds outside of the "official" one provide their builders with a list
of objects, be it a txt file they send to them, or a webpage depends, but
they still provide one.

> 18) Line of sight or obstruction block for speech - It's annoying when

This could make for more realisim in our virtual "reality".

> 19) Player Radar - Show me all the indivdiuals in a X radius around me,

Useful if you have to hunt someone down, although I would think it a spoiler
for any gaming world. I would want a world CT setting to not allow it for my
world.

> 20) Built in Random Number Generator - For the DnD people :-)

*smiles* Well I myself do not see AW as a game in and of itself but a nice
chat that ALSO allows those who want to game a way to do it. I know
paintball worlds are (or were) popular, and a more "game" style layout may
prove popular. However I also do not think that a full "game" interface
should be done if it will hamper those who do not play the games. Not sure
how it could hamper, but you know someone will tell how.

Excuse me? I never said it was one or the other. As a matter of fact I
implied it is BOTH! Now lay off I have not tried to stomp on your opinions,
try not to stomp on mine.

Z and X axis rotation buttons in the object properties window

Dec 4, 2001, 4:16am
Problem is the create rotates can create some pretty high lag at times.
Haveing the object rotateable on all three axis without the extra command
would be nice.

ActiveWorlds needs a bank

Dec 8, 2001, 9:42pm
The only use for a bank in AW would be for those engaged in role playing of
one form or another.
When you need to buy gear in game then you need cash.

Hey Roland

Dec 21, 2001, 4:04am
Heres something that is LONG overdue. How about a setting to will turn
the world symbol on the worlds list yellow, meaning open to anyone with
an AW citizenship, but tourists not allowed.
It would sure save on bandwidth for runnign bots to keep tourists out.

Hey Roland

Dec 22, 2001, 11:05pm
I do not forget I was a tourist at one time, however I also ordered my cit# my
first day as a tourist.
But with the RPG we are beginning on my world and the fact that our bots for
said game only react to avatar clicks on people with valid cit#'s tourists just
get in the way of it all.-

Hey Roland

Jan 2, 2002, 4:56pm
Well no one gave me my cit. But as for allowing tourists to just hang around, we
have done that for the last two weeks and it has been nothing but disruption, so
no dice.

Avatars

How about the avatar.dat not being cached at all so it will update
itself more? Kinda gets old havign to tell everyone to do it.

Avatars

Dec 23, 2001, 10:23pm
I know about doing that, but for alot of hosts doing that causes the
bandwidth to double and triple. Been warned about it by various OP hosts I
have used. Some of them get so touchy afterall when it comes to bandwidth.

AW why?

Jan 3, 2002, 3:51am
There is a third option data. A price increase that is FAIR. If it is a fair
price people will still pay it (most of them anyway). I suggest $30 myself,
but I would be barely able to go as high as $40.

out.

Amen, of course for role playing game worlds that would be a godsend.
