Well I wonder how much they really know about programming... If I was
running a company id take the programmers, people that actually know what
they're doing, advice seriously.

This is all it says inthe help:
"An ejection by computer ID makes use of a unique hardware ID number that is
available on many, although not all, PCs. If a user is ejected from the
world and a computer ID is available for their PC, an ejection of this type
will be added automatically. A computer ID block will prevent that user from
entering the world even if their IP address changes, and regardless of
whether they are a citizen or a tourist."
so i dont know what they mean by "computer ID"

They cant just go to another computer becuase it ejects using this id, ip,
and citezin number so unless they changed their ip and used another computer
and account they can't get around it. No one would go though that much
trouble anyway and if they did so what you can eject the other account just
like that.

If you were walking slow and it wasnt rough your shoulder might slide along
it when you turn a little. Thats more realistic then your body sticking to
the wall unless you turn all the way around or back up. This isnt real life
anyway.

Basically they wanted to make ejections permanent and the programmers do the
absolute minimum to accomplish it. This does result in fatly thought out
feature and I don't really think they care if its the quality that we
deserve as long as it works. Well I've learned that threes nothing I can do
to change this and it seems like the management isn't thinking to much about
us. I mean, they don't really care so why should I.
And I think Roland is getting sick of it. You can only work at a company
like this for so long then you cant stand them anymore. I could be wrong but
I can't blame him for leaving if that is his reason.

Well this was on the feature list before 3.3 came out so i knew they would
change. It didnt tell us how to fix them though so yes that wouldve been
nice. I cant do two gestures at one (that was reaaaally funny) and my walk
gesture looks robotic and the sleep one makes the legs go up and his head go
into his crotch for a second until he lays down. Fall looks like the guy is
slamming his face into the ground etc etc....

Glitterbug:
"An amusing thing I found today was someone who swore blind that after
updating to 3.3 everything looked exactly the same. I spent a great deal of
time trying to understand how he was getting everything as it was before the
upgrade. He kept saying it was my system (and everyone elses that was wrong
..... 9 in 10). After about 20 minutes he discovered the upgrade had not
worked and he was still in 3.2. This is beyond my comprehension but
nonetheless occured .... it at least gave me a smile for the day."
thats my reasoning...so anyway if they work fine for you then thats good.

I hope the walls are an OPTION (default is off)....becuase i do see the
reason in them and they are helpful in some cases. Say you turn on terrain
and people keep falling off the edge of the world. They are good in that
case but bad when you have a repeating ground and want to be abel to walk
past it. Perhaps its an option but caretakers can go by it regardless.

What do you mean the option? The local path? That is still useful especially
when im testing objects and id rather test before uploading them. Just
becuase it might be created fpr that CD doesnt mean its the only use for it.

I couldnt find a site for computer gaming world (or anything int ha mag) but
heres a contact page for PC World
http://www.pcworld.com/resource/contactus.asp
Thats all i can think of for now.
A suggestion is that you should tell them about the SDK and that users can
create games and other things. That would appeal to gaming magazines
somewhat.

I heard how to upgrade to build 417 by typing Start>run "c:\active
worlds\upgrade.exe" objects.activeworlds.com/upgrade kit416.rtp aworld.exe
Why isn't AW automaticly upgrading to this version?

Well i dont think they need to wait a week for such a tiny update...the
terrain looks fine...a few bug fixes....btw Brant was saying how to do this
in AWTeen so a lot of non-beta people are using this already.
