I know exactly what OW was and who created it. I understand your side of
that whole situation, but don't agree with some of the actions you took and the lengths at which you went to. I never said you acutally created AW software, but you damn well tried. I don't think Gav would mind me mentioning the dubious amounts of money you offered him to move to the US and begin work on a new project for you. Although I admit I don't know at length the details of the project you had planned. What I know for sure is that you make accusations like you have in this string referring to unsubstancial and/or non-existant evidence. You are very quick to demand evidence when people make accusations against you, but y'know I would be more interested in seeing what you have to offer in the form of solid evidence that Gavroche has done any of the things you accuse him of. -Robbie [View Quote] RPGFeb 15, 2002, 3:55pm
You know, I started a Bot called NoxBot 3 months ago. At present it takes
character admin, users can select their race, path, religion, klan, etc.. and can also maintain public bios....I am planning to release it this summer....but if you need any help with the programming of your bot and your doing it in Visual Basic.....gram me :o) -Robbie [View Quote] Spy botFeb 21, 2002, 5:36am
oooh, omnimous. perhaps someone should contact AWC and ask why them why
their searching through wrolds? Its not an issue until we find out what, if any information its taking from each world. -Robbie [View Quote] New AW Object Set Up For Download.Mar 2, 2002, 5:09pm
Hey, not sure how recently it wa but the download page for Alpha's, Mars',
Meta's and Colony's Object Sets has been updated to include the new objects for AlphaWorld. If you have your own OP or build a lot in AW I suggest you go check it out, lots of great new things have been added like an animated US flag, the teleport swirl used in 3D homepages and tons of nic nacs...not sure how people are going to like downloading and uplaoding 14 meg texture sets though, LOL. -Robbie WhinersMar 2, 2002, 8:38pm

Gavroche died in a car crash at 5.15pm on Tue 26 Feb 2002. Please remember
him for the good work he performed in the community. We will all miss him. Although I know he had his fans and his enemies, remeber his work was all for the benefit for all of us. Without the small people, Active Worlds wouldnt be what it is today... -Robbie Gavroche has died.Mar 4, 2002, 4:53pm
I haven't lied at all. May I see you evidence of this phone call Calpanera?
I'm disgusted that you would lie about somthing like this. I understand that people don't trust me around here which is why I had originally asked soemone else to post for me. Calpantera is either a very sick person or just dosent have any kind of respect for a delicate matter such as this. :( -Robbie [View Quote] SunOfSolaris' Street Cred had died.Mar 4, 2002, 7:24pm

Gandalf is out for a few weeks.Mar 5, 2002, 7:13pm
Gandalf just rang me to tell me that his friend was attacked by her
boyfriend with a knife and Gand tried to intervene and was stabbed in his right arm. He got home from the hospital this afternoon and is currently on Morphine. He'll be on occasionally to check grams, etc... but wont be able to much else for at least a week or so. -Robbie *Heh, Rhys can't 'you know what' now ;)* Gandalf is out for a few weeks.Mar 5, 2002, 8:14pm

Now I know I haven't made the best of contributions to this community in the
past, but let me take this opportunity to give you an well experienced illustration as to the origins of that file Dark Mod has been flaunting about and the legal implications its creates (of which are few). I take neither side. Insanity is a man who has put a lot of hard work into his object path. He takes great pride in his service and would be none to pleased when it is all placed up for grabs so effortlessly. Dark Mod is a guy I once considered a friend who more recently has become a reckless fool. He has spent the last few months trying to gain some kind of respect as a hacker, when infact his actions taking the credit for the distribution of this file will only land him in trouble with AWCorp. First, the history of that file. The file would have been created using software with which Mod was not authorised to use, most probably it was investigative work created by the AWST, which has been known for its problems but has done a lot of good for this community. If not for the AWST, people would still be running around with their little cracked browsers and AWHacks. It is true that the program Mod used was most probably a browser that has the ability to decrypt a world password. But this software is now unusable and I doubt he even had it in the first place, most probably someone else compiled that list of worlds and passwords, although I would like to stress now that I severely doubt an AWST member would have done. Looking at this situation legally, I severely doubt Insanity has involved the FBI, if he has nothing much will come of it. I would be lying if I were to say I haven't had encounters with the police of matters involving the internet and one which related quite closely to this situation. And people have looked at fines of no more than $100 for much more serious crimes. When such a case reaches the courts, the damages Insanity would claim would be quickly whittled down to speed up proceedings and end up costing him more than he gains. As for charges, Mod himself hasn't committed a crime as such. Especially since I doubt the police will find evidence of him collecting those passwords. As has already been mentioned, him providing that text file is like warez.com providing links to other warez sites; its the actually downloading and usage of the files that *could* be developed into a criminal charge. The distribution of that file would carry a miniscule charge. I don't doubt that information that Insanity has on is correct, but by posting it he IS committee a criminal offence, especially if it is correct. Again this charge would not carry a substantial sanction, but it would certainly not help Insanity's damages claim against Mod because he could potentially be causing damages to Mod, as ones IP address and real name can be used to track down phone numbers, dental and medical records and numerous other private documents on the internet. Mod could easily argue in court that he only caused damages to Insanity on a commercial level whereas he has caused damages on a personal level to him and other family members. It seems to me that both sides are at fault in different ways and that all world owners should change their OP Passwords if included on that file and get on with life. It seems a lot of people have become involved with this situation who know little or nothing about making themselves looking stupid with the things they have posted and creating a lot of misconception among onlookers. I hope this clears this whole thing up, if anyone has any questions about what I've said I'll do my best to answer them. My suggestions to Insanity is to cut his losses and re-password his OP and redistribute the password to all his customers, I doubt that many have even downloaded anything using the passwords in that file. My suggestion to Mod is to either completely change his attitude and become the productive sociable person he used to be or leave active worlds. At current his sole intentions seem to be to cause controversy and make impressions, he doesn't realise nor care what this community has to offer nor the hours of work people have put into Active Worlds that he intends to make in vain. -Robbie robbie at oriox.com I apologize...Apr 2, 2002, 9:39am
You and PC Hamster give the judicial system too much credit. Dark Mod may
have causes usch and suchs amount of damage to your business on a commercial level. But YOU Published his real name and IP Address also committing an offence on a personal level. His offence of providing those passwords is barely a crime, distribution of information like that is of the lowest of internet crimes, its the adoption of that information for unauthorised use that *can* be prosecutable. I've said all this before, I'm not sticking up for Mod...but Insanity and Film, you two need to stop trying to take this to a legal level, becuase you will NOT be able to send Mod to jail, nor sue him for enough money to make up for your losses (if any). This situation is one that AWCorp needs to deal with, I think his apology is respectable and at least we should tolerate him for long enough to proove to us that hes going to change. Its aggrsive personal attacks drive these people away. And there have been many people (e.g. Azslande) that have completely turned around and become friendly, productive, sociable people. -Robbie [View Quote] I apologize...Apr 3, 2002, 8:27am
Correct Ananas except Dark Mod didnt steal those passwords himself and I
doubt even 20 police offciers would extract the actual culprit out of him. I agree that even just passing them on is an offense, but when it actually came to court, how much could Insanity really charge for Damages? How much damage has really been done? And how much of it can he proove? Also Mod and Insanity are several states apart, and Mod is only a teenager. The courts would be likely to award no more than a few hundreds dollars, especially taking into account Mods parent would be footing the bill and Insanity would of paid more than double that to pursue the case. -Robbie [View Quote] I apologize...Apr 3, 2002, 1:31pm
When your arguing with someone, by laughing at them and smiling in the same
sentence where you insult them, you come across as very patronising and vain. Almost makes you look as bad as the person in the wrong since your making such a point out of arguing your case. -Robbie [View Quote] I apologize...Apr 3, 2002, 7:21pm

Hello there A1CTTourist5. Now you know what you could of done with these
three posts you've posted? You could of put them alltogether and given the post a more generic title. Then you could of tested that you can post and addressed the matter of the world signs and your (very good IMO) videos. And save a lil server space. I personally don't mind but some folks get a little irriated when people post several messages in succession. Just a tip :o) Welcome Aboard, -Robbie [View Quote] A1CTtourist5 VideosApr 27, 2002, 7:48pm
no. once you have posted you cannot change it. when you post somthing, the
messages you create are not called newsgroups, they are called threads. a newsgroup is the name for each "forum" (i.e. bots, community, etc..). hope this helps, -Robbie [View Quote] Build along the AWTeen Freeway.Apr 28, 2002, 3:21pm
If your looking for some land to build on, come and build along the new
AWTeen Freeway. You can branch off your own road or build right next to it. And theres miles of road so everyone can get a space. Checkout 1080s 1920w and read the signs there...then go ahead and grab some land! My aim is to populate the road with interesting builds, towns and cities so that people can follow it one day exploring all the great work. :o) -Robbie Flawed Logic?May 6, 2002, 5:23pm
Active Worlds is by no means the "leader in 3D internet commincations
technology". You shouldn't belive everything you read on the first page of activeworlds.com. And As we've seen on a number of occasions before, The AW Management don't have a clue about running a 3D Communcations Technology Company themselfs! This merger is a perfect example. If anything we can hope that Alladin have a better understanding internet business and change AW for the better. Alladin is a small net company who authored a program called StuffIt which is a semi-popular compression utility that is better than Winzip & co is many aspects. Both Alladin and AWCorp are floundering in the Stock Market at the moment and have come to an agreement whereby the two companies can keep their heads above water by merging (i.e. in the NASDAQ) and possibly even improve eachothers technology. Seems to me like another lame business move to try and delay their slow and inevitable death as a company. Where AW went wrong has been debated so many times, but IMO they coould still save themselfs. They need to advertise. A small time Ad Campaign on British television for example. Packages are cheap with channels 3, 4 and 5 and now that UK Teens are slowly tiring with Habbo Hotel, I'm sure they'd be looking for a new alternative. But then, what would I know? I'm just a 15 year old kid... -Robbie [View Quote] 3.3 Feature listMay 10, 2002, 6:24pm

Hey all,
I am creating a new website much like objects d'active worlds where people can submit objects and avatars which will be put up for download. However, rather than do everything manually I was wondering if there are any PHP programmers out there with the experience and time to donate to creating a simple SQL system for searching, adding and viewing items. The result? A simple yet useful website allowing object creators to submit content, for world buildrs to search through and download completely free. If there are any programmers out there that have the time and are willing. E-mail me at: robbie at oriox.com. Thanks, -Robbie Calling all PHP'ers...May 24, 2002, 11:48am
Can you do SQL? The 3 main functions will be view.php that views an object,
add.php which uploads a zip, jpg and adds the object the database along with its info and search.php/results.php for searching through the database. -Robbie [View Quote] |
