I am not sure this community is dying actually and I also think that to gather people is
more effective to be positive and give new ideas or talking about something concrete to
build. Arguments are stressing and do not lead to anything more than other arguments.

I would like to thank Roland, HamFon, Facter and Lu, actually the only persons I
know of the aw staff, for the time spent with us and for their work and
improvements to the browser and support. No one is typing this and have never,
only whines and cussing. I am not sure they ever deserved it, so I just wanted
to send a few lines. It hurts me to hear 'they are annoying', hurts more when it
is even swearing. I get better when I think the most are kids round here. For
phsycological support I would suggest another universe to the folks that are not
taking advantage of the huge free one offered by aw staff (lol)

Well, it seems to me one of those poor NGs..you know...the Human Charity... kind
of The Naked Feet of the Poor Charity Community NewsGroup, poor thingie, where
you can't post attachments because users would crash on their elaborators (not
computers yet, precursors) and , I won't mention html that would take the
resources of 10 computers..at least.. someone told me even 100...for the d/l...

I have some news, ..and some cannot support html because they do not have any screen
atm, the only use the keyboard and some kind of telephone connection, they call a
friend on the telegraph or use the pigeon (let him fly early in the morning to get
the answer back in 3 or 4 days if it doesn't get shot from hunters) and ask <what
are you seeing on your screen>, this is the lag
The other point is that the most are looking for food here so last time I asked <do
you enjoy html> and he said <is it a fish? is it a fish? gosh is it a fish?> <no
it's not a fish> I replied, he said <can my 8 kids eat html?> I didn't know how to
explain...oooh guys I need to go now before it gets too dark, I forgot the stick to
keep wolves away

Nobody is using Netscape!? I love it, especially for reading NGs. In
Europe it comes for free like IE. You can post whatever in all the ways
you like, settings are easy. With a modem 56K connection all downloads
are very fast I even tried an old 33.6K no problems, no problems with
old Celeron Pentium II. If you do not like HTML you just post in plain
text and choose your favourite fonts. Now I have a dsl connection and a
PIII so I am fast but I just did that about 4 years ago, I rember
posting pictures and HTML in 1988, probably 1997.. I was fast...I do not
understand. Probably it is a question of server? We always messed with
big files and the activeworlds seems to support, they didn't seem to
have many problems with it.
Actually we didn't hear AW about its own NG rules, we had a charter but
I am not sure anything was mentioned, all Newsgroups have own
netiquettes, there is somthing in common they share but not truely
everything and sometimes they even seems to be a little outdate to me,
the technology is growing fast...some were written in 1997
it's only my opinion

Actually Adobe would like to have only the 0.0001% of AW features but
they have not. Do not mention Adobe in the AW NewsGroup it isn't wise.
If some companies do not care investing in AW, we are very sorry, there
is not only money in this world, and companies are so many, they open

something unique is very rewarding and this company seems to care also
for this.

very vrml looking like both for the d/l time needed, and the possibility
to move inside the environment
the rendering of pictures is very good, the rendering of models and the
technology used is very objectable

Hi Henrik...did you check if despite error messages your world was
actually renewed? I had an error message while renewing my citizenship,
and while loggin out the error message window I was charged again, so I
was charged twice, one for the error and one for loggin out the error :)

Probably it is question of some errors in the webpage database, but
Tomorrow will be renewed, they just probably need to configure it
differently, as it is an old world probably they want to unify them all
with new types, you just probably need to send an email to AW, they will
change it, what do you mean 'Tomorrow' won't be up any longer! NO, not
Tomorrow, with all the worlds that could actually be dropped, NOT
tomorrow, not definitely...
The standard now is a P10 40,000 sq meters 5 users (smallest)
