awst gavroche // User SearchIs this REALLY a free VB-esque compiler??Dec 17, 2001, 12:59pm
Hey Grimms,
I wrote my first programs in Envelop. Not a bad package, shame about the lack of support. It handles OCXs fairly well, but I wouldnt build a mission critical app with it. If people cant afford the real thing, I would recon they try Envelop if they dont want to go down the C/C++ route. Not going C/C++ before VB was IMO a mistake for me. -Gav [View Quote] SDK for PocketPCDec 17, 2001, 12:55pm
Sorry to put a downer on things.
One cant just make it themself without knowing the source code to the current SDK or the AW protocol and encryption. One option however is to use the PPC Winsock control which then communicates with a translator sever on a PC. A lot of extra work is envolved in creating an app then, but it would work. I personally could create an SDK for the pocket PC and any other platform for that matter (yes, macs and intel and non intel versions of Linux / Unix) but I dont think it would be worth my time and I would not want to step on anyones toes. 8^P -Gav [View Quote] Log Bot v1.0Dec 17, 2001, 12:47pm
Hey Gamer,
My bot does pretty much the same thing and log file encrypting, and several other features: www.awst.net/dimmbot/ Let me know what ya think and if you want to half inch my code, let me know and I will send you the source without the CRC generating key (to prevent people from making false logs). -Luke [View Quote] DimmBot 1.1.2 - A free cit to the breaker....Dec 24, 2001, 7:22pm
DimmBot 1.1.2 is a chatlogger that prevents the tamering of the log file.
www.awst.net/dimmbot/ I am offering a free citizenship to anyone who can falsify a log. The challenge is to submit a chat between AWLD, Roland, Eep and yourself. Something that I know would never happy in any real life instance. :) Would also be interesting to see the "key" to the hash :) Good luck. Gav PS. Once I get a bit of time, I will finnish work on the logfile reader but at this moment in time I am sulking because I lost the entire code. :( DimmBot 1.1.2 - A free cit to the breaker....Dec 24, 2001, 7:25pm
oops, forgot to mention... you can send the results to my email if you
prefer: awst at awst.net Thanks go to a special Swedish guy who gave me the inspiration for the bot... -Gav [View Quote] VB QuestionNov 19, 2001, 8:17am
Well, actually yes.
You dont even give us the error. How can you expect help? And what the heck is the "same thing" supposed to mean. It could be anything. -Gav [View Quote] Log Bot v1.0Dec 17, 2001, 12:47pm

which is exactly my point. so any log with the AWLD account can only be
false. what part did you not understand about my post? [View Quote] Hmm, anyone else crashing?Oct 8, 2001, 5:45am
I would be slightly worried by someone using Windows 95 also. But I guess,
its useful on the AW Beta since I doubt many people are still on W95. As long as you are aware that Windows 95 is only a stable operating system upto 500MHz. Unless a patch is installed, but I have no idea where that patch is nowday. 95 is pretty stable tho, but only on slower machines. If you have a faster computer, NT/2K is best. NT for the non gamers / D3D users, 2K for the gamers. XP is looking good, seems very stable, even Visual Studio 6 ran ok on my copy (RC2). Looks hopeful, but I suggest that you dont by the professional version unless you need the extra features / complexity. Home edition seems more than ok for most people. -Gav [View Quote] Hmm, anyone else crashing?Oct 9, 2001, 5:27am
Just as soon as I get my server back up and running you will be allowed in
anyway because I lost the ejection list.... [View Quote] Log Bot v1.0Dec 17, 2001, 12:47pm
