ooh, forgot to tell you. :)) Alliances are GREATLY welcome here and such,
but put it down in writing. By the end of the game or during a good point in the game, email me all your "secret" conversations with your fellow tribe members and the community and I'll compile them into the website for some extra dish. :)) Nornny [View Quote] [NG Survivor] Let The Game BeginMay 13, 2001, 9:32pm
oh, quick site update, a poll is set up for you all to get your first
impressions out. How you vote in these polls affect how gameplay will continue. Example, say Contestant A doesn't post at all this week. Well, I won't be able to make a weekly summary of him based on pure fact, so I'll fake it all for him. ;) But, it can work against him also. If his standing in the polls are quite low or exceedingly high, I'll make him/her do something stupid like backstab his tribe somehow in the summary. If he's okay, then he can only do good things. So, vote carefully. On tribal council days, the poll will be THE vote cast by the community. Person casted is the one with the most community votes. Nornny [View Quote] [NG Survivor] Let The Game BeginMay 14, 2001, 8:43am
Ahh, trying to sucker me into your alliance eh with that Cy stuff...well,
you just better watch your back. ;) Nornny [View Quote] [NG Survivor] Let The Game BeginMay 14, 2001, 7:35pm
You do nothing kellee. :)) Just post like your regular self whenever you
feel like it. :) The game will play itself out on its own. :)) *eats roast lamb* Nornny [View Quote] [NG Survivor] Let The Game BeginMay 15, 2001, 8:38am
It's random. :) Do we really need more than one poll at a time? Actually,
bravenet polls don't allow me to have more than one in one page, or at least I don't know how. But it's not like we need more than one. It's not you Casay, don't worry. :)) Nornny [View Quote] FYI NEWS ARTICLE: Recently in the news concerning 1st ammendment rights of USA CitizensMay 15, 2001, 10:27pm
I thought I'd be reading something intelligent when I saw this post, but it
would only be wasted. ;) Nornny [View Quote] FYI NEWS ARTICLE: Recently in the news concerning 1st ammendment rights of USA CitizensMay 15, 2001, 10:32pm
With freedom comes responsibility, silly. You're responsible for ALL of your
actions here, and you're responsible for ALL the stuff that comes back to you, as we're expressing it just as much as you do. How one-sided are you anyways? You give men a bad name, really. Btw, how dare you waste and take for granted your freedom like this by starting flame wars and long threads. You give Americans bad names too... And you ARE bound under strict rules, here in AW. As if you haven't noticed, we're NOT in Kansas. You follow the same beaucratic headaches as we do, as you're a customer in a corporation, not a human being. (well, kinda a human being, but not in the big picture). You follow the rules, or else you'll just be disregarded or thrown out as trash, as you have. ;) Nornny [View Quote] [NG Survivor] Diary 1 - The Start of StupidityMay 15, 2001, 8:56pm
--Nornny's Entry--
The first days... Well, before the Survivors can even settle into their new tribe camp, they are reminded within a day's time of the harsh land they preside in. Thanks to n a y r, an annoying newbie who has entered this range with horrible timing, the contestants are bombarded with shameless plugs and HTML posts. Life isn't so easy now, is it?? hmm? Lucky for me, I've just saved myself $100s of dollars in bribing people to do the same thing. ;0 However, stupidity can be said for our Survivors also. In the midst of their anxiety, the Typo tribe has arranged AW meetings to discuss strategy and to build shelters. Why they couldn't just email is beyond me. Plus, this IS newsgroup Survivor. You don't build goddarn AW shelters, it has nothing to do with the newsgroup! Oh well, their loss, lucky for me, I've placed myself in the Factor tribe (not FactEr, although named after him). I can say that these contestants have redeemed themselves a little. Already, hidden strategic alliances have started. Nice to know that this newsgroup plans ahead. Private meetings are taking place in AW from almost everybody in the game. Too bad Casay and Wing can't get their email to work, and that Bit seems to like betraying her fellow Factor members. Personally, I've already got a strategic alliance with a member or two, but keep that on the downlow... And what the heck happened to the OTHER half of our players?? Dead, most likely, those newbies and eeps are ravages, I tell ya. Among the missing (which I really don't care to find in this harsh terrain) are s p a r k, leaf, and KAH. Even SW Chris is gone, although he seems to have made a good impression on the group before getting here. Personally, I think he's hiding in the bushes somewhere. Well, the first challenge begins tommorow. It will decide the first immunity from FRIDAY'S vote. Immunity means that ONE tribe will remain with its full 8 members until next week. The other tribe will vote off one of its tribe members. By Saturday night, the final ballots will be cast and the voted off will be asked to leave the newsgroup immediately (only temporarily though. hehe). What is the first challenge? 8 questions will be listed, the answers in which I don't even know (trust me, I don't, they came from this Q and A site, and I've yet to see the answer page. ;) ) Anyways, each Survivor or member of the community will be able to answer ONE question. If they're smart, they'll work together, as anyone who ansers a question that is already answered will not only NOT get the point, but also NOT get another chance to answer a different question. The tribe with the most answered questions will win. Ah, but yet another twist. The rest of the newsgroup. Yes, they'll be able to answer too. But, rather than putting down their name, they will put down a member of a tribe that they would like to answer the question. If they like a member, they'll answer it correctly. If they don't, they'll throw that tribe member's answer, leaving the member WITHOUT another chance to answer the question. How cruel, eh? Anyways, I need to swat some newbies. Nornny signing off... --end-- PRODUCTION NOTE: Anyone can write a diary entry, but email it to me first at nornny1 at home.com so I can post it on the site. :)) well dlpMay 15, 2001, 10:26pm
Please, can we send an abuse report or something? Seeing that this twerp
never confronts us face to face (which IS kind of smart, but he/she wouldn't know it, as it saves some flaming threads), we really need to warn him about spamming the newsgroup and how to CORRECTLY post. Nornny [View Quote] [NG Survivor] THE FIRST CHALLENGE! (for immunity)May 16, 2001, 11:31am
The challenge is simple...
As you will see... Answer the most questions... And in the game you will be... Don't get enough... And Tribal Council will ensue... Where 8 will become 7... And one will already lose... The Challenge: A series of 8 questions have been listed below. Survivors: the objective here is to answer more questions correctly than the other tribe. Each of you is given ONE chance to answer a question correctly. Go to http://yourdock.co.uk/nornnyweb/survivor/ngchallenge.html and answer the question through the form. The first answer under your name will be the one taken. The rest will be discarded. You may also answer for a fellow tribe member, or on the opposing tribe. But, you will be taking away their chance to answer another question. If you answered a question already answered, your answer will not count and you have lost your one and only chance to answer, so communication is key. The first 8 responses on each tribe will be the only ones accepted and counted also. The rest of the community newsgroup: YOU TOO can also answer these questions. But rather than putting your name on the answer form, you put the name of a contestant who you would like to answer for. You will take away his/her chance at answering also. You're VITAL to the success or the demise of the castaways so have fun with it. ;) As for me, I will sit out this challenge and hope my fellow Factors can succeed without me as I DO know the answers to some of them (although not all). However, anyone else CAN use my name to answer a question for me, as you can for can anyone else. Again, the url for submitting your answer is http://yourdock.co.uk/nornnyweb/survivor/ngchallenge.html and you have ONE chance, so make sure you're right. ;) The questions are: Who was the dictator of the Dominican Republic from 1930 to 1961 ? What were the full names (first and last) of Gilligan and the Skipper in the show? On what date did the first regular episode of Gilligan's Island appear on tv? Name the first 6 castaways to be voted off in the original U.S. Survivor series (pulau tiga). On what special "Sunday" did the first episode of Survivor 2: The Australian Outback air? Name ALL the official AW newsgroups. How many posts has n a y r made this week (starting Sunday 13th)? According to the Survivor poll, which NG Survivor contestants have NO votes cast for them as most likely to win (both on the Typo AND Factor tribe) <production note> A new diary entry has been added to the site, courtesy of Leaf, who is still alive apparently. Tell me also if the answer form isn't working or if you have any problems. Tribal council starts on Friday night, most likely. [NG Survivor] THE FIRST CHALLENGE! (for immunity)May 17, 2001, 8:35am
All the Survivor questions deal with the U.S. Survivor series. :) They're
all on the web if you do a search for them on the regular yahoo search engine. :)) As for the Gilligan one, I believe it is the U.S. date that it premiered. :) They are also listed on websites if you do a search for it. :)) Nornny [View Quote] *Sigh* Tourists...May 17, 2001, 11:12pm
Herrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre's Johny!!!May 17, 2001, 7:32pm
I also no "off-topic" is a recently invented word. I don't need to read off
Ancient Greek literature to figure that out. ;) Besides, who said Euripides (who wrote in Greek most likely) or the translator made a typo? But how you brought this up in the middle of nowhere is beyond me. :) Nornny [View Quote] [NG Survivor] My Diary..May 17, 2001, 7:28pm
Okay, this is getting bad, you guys. ;) Game is game, but don't post whole
newsgroup pictures in here. Even diary entries take up SOME space. Just email them PERSONALLY to me at nornny1 at home.com . That includes pictures, diaries, chat logs, anything you want to show to the community. I'll put them all on the site that day. Just don't clutter this newsgroup as it is already. :)) This is a bandwith-minimum game I'm trying to play here. ;) Nornny [View Quote] [NG Survivor] Challenge 1 resultsMay 17, 2001, 11:19pm
Before I begin, let me make it clear that you guys can respond to MY
threads, as anything I post retains to the game. Things like diary posts, pictures, chat logs, and other Survivor manipulation tools should follow my latest ng survivor thread IF you ABSOLUTELY need to post here. Otherwise, EMAIL me the stuff and I'll put it on the website ASAP. Anyone interested in the newsgorup survivor game will have to go through the website one time or another, so it will get read. ;) However, I must admit, you guys are doing quite a fine job making entries. If you haven't noticed already, they are a GREAT source to manipulate your tribemates into good or bad people. Lie if you have to, we all know its a game. ;) Anyways, the results are in! A lot of action has already begun within the first footsteps of the game. The newsgroup has invited the castaways with unrelentless force, but each survivor is just about ready to complete their first week. They've got down building the shelter, making fire, making alliances, and winning immunity, but one tribe must learn the terrible steps of Tribal Council. For one contestant, it will be his/her first AND last week in NG Survivor Game. Oh how horrible! Well, the team trivia challenge was meant as a challenge for teams to learn to communicate, and to get some strategy out of it. And, by the countless amounts of wrong answered forms, the teams are either strategizing well, but late, in figuring out that you can create a wrong answer for an opposing tribesmate and sabotage his ONE answer ballot. Or, one person could've answered all 8 questions collectively under 8 different aliases of all his/her teamates to get consistency and nonrepeating. My prediction was EVERYONE was too dumb to strategize in ANY way, though. Here's the recap. Although you might have NOT participated in this challenge, someone might have done so for you, so let's hope your tribemates trust you enough if you should answer a question wrong. ;) Leaf would be the first to start the challenge, and correctly answering his question of choice for Factor. Typo dominated from there, sending in the next batch of answers. Tony and Casay correctly answered their questions correctly. Chuck, however, answered his question wrong, guessing the dictator of the Dominican Republic was David Jelse (it's really Rafael Leónidas Trujillo Molina). Agent followed, however with a correct answer. Unfortunately, Wing answered his question correctly, but replied to the question Agent had already answered, which means it doesn't count and he loses his one chance. Factor took it from there. In between the Typo advantage, Gamer had correctly answered a question, but Leaf had answered it already, making it not count. Syntax, Nornny, BirdMike, and KAH would rebound and get their questions correct and different from the previous answers. Also, it seems sabotage COULD'VE been played at this point of the game. Agent, Casay, Wing, and Chuck answered AGAIN AND INCORRECTLY to questions. Luckily, all 4 had already posted their answers, making those incorrect answers NOT count. Nice try, though. That's what I like to see. S p a r k, in the midst of this, would also come back from the idleness and get a point to the Typo tribe. Ananas would be the second and last person to not get a question right, as Ananas replied to a previously answered question. BirdMike and Bit would seal the final two correct answers for Factor, ending their challenge. Typo would need the rest of their questions correctly, but unfortunately, SW Chris, in a massive attempt to save the team (he replied 4 times) could not provide for his teamates. He incorrectly answered that n a y r had posted only 3 times to the newsgroup since Sunday. BUT WAIT! Chris might not be the blame for sending Typo to Tribal Council (yes, you're going there Typo). This could be THE ultimate sabotage by the community or Factor. chrisw10 at email.com was the first email recieved by SW Chris, but it is believed that chrisw10 at nckcn.com is the real email of SW Chris (as 3 of his 4 answers were sent from that email address). We'll let Typo work that out with Chris though. ;) Tribal Council instructions will follow tommorow or Saturday. Factor, congrats on your immunity. Typo, it's time for one of you to go... <production note>Now's a good time to get some diary entries in. ;) It might be your last week on the game. Plus, the fun begins now. </> Nornny [NG Survivor] Challenge 1 resultsMay 18, 2001, 8:48am
Newbie Guide to the Newsgroups: Take 2 (VERY long!)May 18, 2001, 8:51am
kellee, we can use. But Just In doesn't even come in and post unless you
provoke him. :) He's never participated in the newsgroup really, even before you guys came along, I believe. :) An occasional help to the newsgroup, but not a serious player. :)) Nornny [View Quote] Old reviewMay 20, 2001, 12:03pm
Hmm...my story is pretty simple. I can still remember my first day in AW. I
was part of a gaming community for the game, Creatures (hence where my name comes from). It was an artificial 3d life game. anyways, someone from the community, a very respective head, actually found this place and lured most of us into Mars to make a settlement. From then on, only myself and a few others have actually stayed and prospered in AW. :)) Everyone else went back to Creatures. So, in reality, AW caused the downfall of interest in my favorite game ever... Nornny [View Quote] [NG Survivor] Time to Vote...May 19, 2001, 4:48pm
Hey guys, sorry for the long wait for tribal council. There was a router
problem in the server where Survivor site was hosted on. It's still not up yet, so I moved the whole site to a new server. :)) Everyone, it's time to vote. Typo tribe members, you have until Sunday to email nornny1 at home.com with your vote on who goes out of the game. Again, you're NOT voting for who you want to stay, but who should LEAVE the game. Put "My Vote" in the subject line to make it easier on me too, please. :)) Person with the most votes cast against him/her leaves the game There's a twist in this tribal council, and all the other ones also. Everyone can vote, but all the non-tribal votes are combined into one vote. Confusing? It's really not. Everyone who is a non-Typo tribe member can go to http://www.active-worlds.co.uk/survivor/ngcouncil.html and click on the "Cast Your Vote" button. You will be directed to a poll. Choose the member of the Typo tribe you'd like to see leave. The results of this poll are hidden and EVERYONE is only allowed one vote. I'll look at the results and the person with the highest percentage of votes against him/her will be the name cast in the "community vote". Here are some things to take notice: - In the case of a tie, there is a revote against the two contestants who have tied to be voted off. If it again falls in a tie, the person with the most amount of previous votes against him in earlier councils will be the loser. - I doubt you can make alliances with the community, or as I like to refer to them, the t.v. audience. ;) - Alliances help!! - Those mini polls, the challenges, and your posts to the community affect waht is said about you below. This is called the "Council Factors". They will help your fellow tribemates and community cast their vote. - kellee DID NOT answer any of the challenge questions. She's also very confused about the game - SW Chris cost your tribe the game as he was the last to answer a question, and got it wrong. - Wing and Chuck also got their questions wrong or repeated in the challenge. - Chuck isn't well liked among tribe members and the community. Do I need to explain why? - Casay feels extremely vulnerable, to the point where she has to bribe. Maybe you should put her out of her misery? - S p a r k is quiet and confused, but is still there physically, not only in spirit. However, lack of participation in this newsgroup could cost Spark. - Agent is the only member to create a diary on Typo. On one hand, he's playing the game, unlike the rest of the tribe. On the other, he could use his diaries to manipulate his fellow tribemates and could be very strong. - Tony is very under the radar at this point in the game. You know how far those under-the-radar types are... Good luck on your vote. Results will be announced when all tribe members have voted or by Sunday or Monday night. [NG Survivor] Time to Vote...May 19, 2001, 4:59pm
Oh, also, Typo members, if you would like to include a few words on the
member you would like to see go, kinda like a confessional, you're VERY welcome to. Of course, you know I'm going to reveal them on the site, so be careful. Nornny [View Quote] [NG Survivor] Time to Vote...May 19, 2001, 7:31pm
You guys are welcome to telegram me in AW. :)) My form skills aren't that
great, and ballots could be fixed easier with forms. Don't really want sabotage, now do we? :)) lol. Nornny [View Quote] [NG Survivor] Time to Vote...May 20, 2001, 1:54pm
Hey guys, 6 Typos have already voted. We're only waiting for 2 more. That's
you Tony and Spark! But, while we're waiting, vote off a Typo member at http://www.active-worlds.co.uk/survivor/ngcouncil.html by clicking on the "cast your vote" button and picking someone who you want to get a boot. Community vote is pretty thin right now, so you can still save or destroy a life. Results will be announced tonight however, as I think everyone will get their votes in. Well, it's finally time to do this. All of you on the Typo tribe, with the
exception of S p a r k, have casted your vote. To remind everyone what has been going on this week, everyone here has been pulled under by the stresses and stupidities of this newsgroup. Wing and Chuck's Party have still unsettled their differences, and it's been costing the team a lot of morale and valuable building time (regarding the Typo shelter). SW Chris and kellee costed the Typo team from an immunity idol, leaving us here today. Casay has been feeling the pressure and vulnerability of this game, and Spark is presumed dead. Well, let's tally the votes. Whoever has the most votes must leave the newsgroup immediately. (production note: you don't HAVE to leave, really. It's just a saying) Scroll down : : : : : : : : : : 1st vote: Chuck's Party : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : 2nd vote: Casay : : : : : : : : : : : : : 3rd vote: Chuck's Party : : : : : : : : : : : : : 4th vote: Chuck's Party. Chuck, please hand me your torch. *smothers flame* Proceed off that cliff over there and jump to your death. But before you do, please present us with your final words. It can be about ANYTHING regarding the newsgroup and the game. Alliances that were broken, fights that had occured, team disunity, your tribemate's characters and actions. It's your last chance to wreak havoc on or praise the team that voted you off. That's all. Typo, good luck on the rest of your game. You can head back to camp. Another challenge awaits everyone in the coming days. <production note> Diaries would be good right about now on any alliances if they were already formed, life without Chuck, why you voted for Chuck, and anything else.
