Augh this drives me nuts. A friend of mine sends me these "silly images"
everyday or so and they are always buried wayyy inside an attachment. I
opened one once (don't try this at home kids) and will never open it again.

Yea, many users have asked to use server space on oriox.com (I use it for
the SW City Forums since it supports perl and cgi) and Gamer has given it
to us without any problems since he trusted the people. It could have been
anyone on there. How about we wait and see who it is before accusing

I got a strange email from "cof" that contained the file rock.exe. Not sure
if its a virus but it says its from cof at activeworlds.com but I know it
isn't. I checked the source and it said something along the lines of
chris at legalassistance.co.uk or something....
Not sure but since it was from someone that knows about COF and directed it
to me, others in AW could be affected.
Any info on rock.exe? Thanks.

Hmm....I looked through my registry and everything and there is no trace of
a virus anywhere. (looking on that site that Kit gave us)
BUT...SW Comit and OniLink...two AW friends of mine, got e-mails from me
with subjects saying "sos!" which is part of the virus. Is it possible that
it can send itself automatically? O_o

I meant is it possible that a virus can send itself without being executed?
Seems weird but I have no trace of the virus on my computer...nothing in
registry or anything..no WINK#####.exe files or anything. But it did get
sent to SW Comit and OniLink from me.

I think they have a pretty good beta team right now anyway...people like Ima
Genius, Mauz, Faber etc. I think they pick based on who shows up to the
tech talks, who is well known in the community (being a Cy award winner
helps :-P) and who helps the community. Maybe you should release some of
your bots and your chances of getting on beta should go up. :-) Young
Shamus hosts tech talks at the same time Roland did, I believe, so attend
some of them and show off your skills.
oh, and I think anyone who wanted to go onto a 2.x beta.. :-P

Using software mode, eh? Try repairing your directx dll's and used DX
mode...or if you are using DXmode just repair.
Start >> Run >> dxdiag
If that doesn't work and your a real AW addict, buy a new video card...that
seems to be the main problem with 3.3, it works best with the new vid cards
unlike 3.0 and 3.1 which can work problem free with older cards..
