That seems a bit steep compared to what the other major host such as
Chicago3d.net are charging. Paul [View Quote] I wish AW was still ....Dec 5, 2005, 3:26am
Bell has her own Galaxy now and a lot of the "old timers" still come there
although it's been pretty quite this past summer. But we still see Yosemite and moonie and Sir Ron and Sir Ivan and Blaize and LadyJane and Lady Asia and Eagle and Christopher and KayBerry and Ladychats and others. You can download Castles at www.belladora.com Bell has a Christmas Sale going on with her Paintings at 50% off. Paul [View Quote] I wish AW was still ....Dec 6, 2005, 3:40pm
Blame it on AWi for charging $70 for cit accounts and not allowing tourist.
That's why Bell left. She used to have tourist and cits come in Castles all the time to chat and also to buy her paintings. She was also responsible for a lot of tourist becoming cits. It just became a lot more cost effective for her to buy a Galaxy. Paul [View Quote] Farm Equipment modelsDec 20, 2005, 3:00pm

It seems like myactiveworlds.com may have been shut down. The domain name
still resolves and my friend's FTP to her OP is still active but the myactiveworlds.com web site won't load nor will anything in my friend's world. The only other world I know that is using myactiveworlds.com for it's OP is Freebie2 and it doesn't download either. Is anyone else using myactiveworlds.com as their OP host and finding your world isn't loading? I know that was Count Dracula's hosting service and no one has heard from him in a long time, but the service has been running up until last night. Paul New Fantasy Tree setFeb 26, 2006, 3:20am

I still think myself that AWI should consider lowering prices for cits and
worlds. I know 2 people now that had worlds in the past - and would like to have worlds again - but have limited financial resources (like many of AW's users do) and so far they can't afford it. I also just heard from Ivie (cit # 7600) the other day that she can't afford to renew her world and will have to let it expire. And other people are dropping the number of the worlds (plural) they owned AW may still be getting new users - but they are also losing and have lost many users because of that $69.95. Some serious problems with 4.1 build 949Jun 3, 2006, 3:30pm
I haven't seen any problem with CPU usage.
At AWGate n 3.6 I get approx 40 - 55% or so in AWGate 4.1 I get about 50+% or so My frame rate is only about 12 in AWGate 4.1 while it was about 20+ in AWGate 3.6. I assume that's just because of the different stuff they have at AWGate 4.1 Paul [View Quote] Did You Know?Jun 5, 2006, 2:21pm
I don't think that can monitor the graphics chip unless it's one of those
that's build into the motherboard that supports it. I wish there was an easy way to monitor the video card heat/fan - the fan quit on my $250 geforce ti4400 and I didn't know it until I happened to shutdown and open my computer and found the fan was frozen up - tried to get a replacement at local store and the guy had to take a screwdriver and play and pry and eventually get the glued on fan off the gpu. Put another fan on but when I put the card back in the PC I had glitches all over the screen at power up. So had to buy a new video card - FX5700le which should be better than the ti4400 I guess and it was about $120 locally. But that was expensive considering the $250 for the ti4400. Also, warranty means nothing. the PNY ti4400 has a Lifetime Warranty. Right, I had it 2 or 3 years, and they wold not honor the warranty because the ti4400 is "obsolete" thus the "life of the product" has expired. That sucks. Paul [View Quote] 4.1 texture/mask bugJun 8, 2006, 2:33pm
If you have problems with a mask not loading I suggest you try this first:
Load the jpg and it's mask in PSP or whatever program you use. Then just Save them and rezip the mask and upload both the jpg and mask. Set world refresh to 0 and bounce and see if that doesn't fix the problem. There were 2 trees in Spice that weren't loading the mask and that's what I did to fix them. Both mask were greyscale mask (and still are). Paul [View Quote] 4.1 texture/mask bugJun 8, 2006, 5:33pm
I have 256bit greyscale mask that are working fine.
In PSP greyscale = 8bit / 256 color all shades of grey. Paul [View Quote] ras viewerJul 12, 2006, 2:25am
The only problem with that Andras is it seems to make it easier for those
who want to do so to be able steal custom textures easier by simply going into the cache on their PC after visiting a world ? Paul [View Quote] |
