Well it is after all, only virtual. Don't expect everyone to be so
forgiving if you get tangled up in something like this in the real world though. ;) SW Chris [View Quote] I'm out of this war zoneNov 9, 2002, 5:53pm
So it's the wants of the many that outweigh the wants of the few...
Technozeus I believe you have my comments on the issue, about everyone being able to participate if CY's are PG rated (but not recieve an award if their content isn't appropriate), but kids not being able to participate (period) if they allow adult material to win awards. I think that says it all right there. You guys must choose the lesser of two evils and define what the CommunitY is; worlds or people? SW Chris [View Quote] I'm out of this war zoneNov 9, 2002, 6:04pm
Absolutely not! In Adult sites the content is right there in your face.
This is true with the 12 or so adult worlds. The rest are G rated. AW is NOT an adult world. I hope you will get your friends to stick around so they can at least see if the CY committee does the right thing in their eyes. It hasn't been decided yet. They have a say in this, too. While they are not elected officials, the committee is representative of the people. So you should at least encourage your friends to air their thoughts and concerns with them and not leave AW in a huff because something is being debated and/or they don't like what is being debated. SW Chris [View Quote] I'm out of this war zoneNov 9, 2002, 6:13pm
Explanation: Because of the mess, ENZO decreed that next year the CYAwards
world will have a world rating as its highest rated nominee. This has forced the CY Committee to decide whether to limit the world rating of those entrants being nominated to G or PG and possibly even R or allow all worlds and risk two things: 1) That some to most kids will not even be able to visit the CY Awards world, much less participate in the CY's, depending on their want to participate and their parent's involvement in their surfing habits. 2) Many adults who would not agree with the decision will not participate in the awards in the future, and as linn pointed out possibly leave AW altogether (the latter of which is only a foolish display of martyrdom). SW Chris [View Quote] I'm out of this war zoneNov 9, 2002, 6:18pm
Clarification on the first option of limiting the nominations: X and
possibly R rated worlds would not be able to receive or be nominated for an award. SW Chris [View Quote] I'm out of this war zoneNov 11, 2002, 1:16am
The problem is the worlds that are akin to Hannibal in your illustration
don't want to be left out. And that's what's making it so hard. Yes I agree, it should be simpler. SW Chris [View Quote] AWDebate - Upcoming Events.Nov 9, 2002, 5:56pm
Yes, that might be the best course of action. Unless you can mute everyone
in world and just selectively call upon those who want to speak, a CY debate would be all out chaos, even if it gets the message out there to everyone else who doesn't read the NG's about what's been going on in here. SW Chris [View Quote] AWDebate - Upcoming Events.Nov 9, 2002, 5:57pm

Hiya Bro. Haven't seen you in awhile. Jump on in! The waters (and the sharks) are fine! :D SW Chris [View Quote] Getting AlongNov 11, 2002, 1:25am
Who's hating who? I have heard no mention of this... At any rate it shows
that the community does care about this. SW Chris [View Quote] My thoughts...Nov 10, 2002, 2:34am
I agree with you. Except on the Eric is God part. How can someone younger
than me be God? How did I get here if God wasn't around before then!? :P As you can see we are already taking steps to work this out. I'm sure that the heads of CyCom are checking daily to see what we are discussing. For the most part, since Enzo has kindly stepped in, we have been getting together and talking about the issue in a civilized manner that this newsgroup really hasn't seen in quite awhile. It is now getting to the point however where most of the arguments on both sides have all been presented, and we are now starting to repeat ourselves. In my view the only thing we can do is to wait for CyCom to decide what they are going to do. SW Chris [View Quote] My thoughts...Nov 11, 2002, 1:25am
My thoughts...Nov 11, 2002, 1:37am
Um... yeah. LOL.
Both Muslims and Christians believe God existed before he was "incarnated" into Jesus or Muhammad. So Eric's little theory is wrong. :) But I'd still be interested in hearing what it is. *ferral grin* SW Chris [View Quote] What would be the funny things for community members to say...Nov 13, 2002, 9:47pm

Typically people don't call em plugins unless they work within a browser.
=P To use the AW Plugin you have to download the AW browser... er... well... something like that? Chris [View Quote] NewAW Flyover!Nov 19, 2002, 6:19pm
