Some people believe these UFO sightings are really not UFOs at all, but
rather manifestations of the spirit world. Why they become visible to the
human eye at times like this is odd.
And then the reason the government is likely blacking out all UFO reports is
probably because of their top secret research facility Area 51. Odds
indicate that scientists there have been experimenting with new aviation
technology for the past 40 years or so. I'm pretty sure that they don't
want the Islamic Jihad or Saddam Hussein to get ahold of one of those
babies, so the safest thign to do is black it out.
Now, consider the case of Salina, Kansas in the 1950's or 60's. I can't
remember which decade. :\ Interstate 70. One night a strange set of blue
and white streaks move quickly across the sky from the west horizon to dead
center over the overpass of I-70 and I-135 near Salina, KS. All vehicles in
that area go dead, presumably from Electro-magnetic pulse. They hover there
for a moment, still emitting the EMP. Cars won't start. But then they
streak off toward the east horizon and disappear in 10 seconds flat. The
drivers can start their cars again.
So are they UFOs, spirits, or a secret government project? With a truly
open mind to these phenomena, you will see that all are equally likely,
simply because the event gives no proof to any of these explainations. This
is not the case with crop circles. People have proven that man can make
crop circles. So that makes the hypothesis of crop circles being man made
more likely than aliens creating them.
Hmm.. maybe I should change my name to Spock. :)
Yours ever logically,
SW Spock.

I thought Visual Basic depended on runtimes found in windows to translate
the commands written in VB-code to 1's and 0's? If this is true, then an OS
written in VB can't run without windows... unless he's somehow programmed
the runtimes into the OS. And I don't think that is possible. How odd.. a
VisualBasic OS. hehe. Ask him to send me a copy.

I think we're having some problems with the definitions of the term
Operating System, Shell, and what Windows really is.
DOS is an operating system. Windows is built upon DOS. You can bypass
Windows and boot to the command prompt (DOS). You can shut down Windows and
return to DOS mode from Windows. Windows ME runs a DOS emulator, not DOS
itself, although they are essentially the same thing.
I think Windows is not a shell because it is built upon DOS. Windows does
not run inside of it, like x-Windows for UNIX or Linux. However I don't
think it is an operating system either, because it needs DOS to run.
So what is MacOS 10? MacOS 9 is an operating system, because it wasn't
built upon anything and doens't need another operating system to run. But
now MacOS 10 has a command line. :) However it's still an OS for the same
reasons Mac OS 9 is an OS. Simply because you can run DOS or exit to DOS
from inside Windows doesn't make it a shell.

Oh geez lane, it's not a question of what it physically is... it's a
question of terminology. It always has been. We are all operating on
different definitions of the terms Operating System, Shell, and GUI. So if
you are so all-knowledgeable, please, tell us.... what are the official
definitions of those terms so that we may correctly place Windows into its
proper category?

> Unfortunately if you have an employee - he represents your company
whenever he talks in public. There is a very strict rules for an employee
what he can and can not tell on a public forum and the employer IS
responsible for his/her actions. It is the employers responsibility to keep
his/her employees within a well defined range in public relations.
Does this include even when they are off the clock? Because if so, you
could have a major repression of (here it comes =P) Freedom of Speech on
your hands. And then there's the legal possibility of suing a corporation
because an employee backed into someone's car in the company parking lot.
:) In the broadest sense of this meaning of course...

Try to go into yoru System Control Panel--> Device Manager to see if there's
a Yellow Exclamation point beside either your NIC or Soundcard.. whichever
one isn't working. If there is, it's probably an IRQ problem that you can
fix right in Windows by going into its properties--> Resources and changing
the IRQs or Basic Configuration around.
