Sometimes the best thing to do is ignore it. If everyone gets on board and
ignores whoever you're talking about, they will fade away. The second best
thing to do is to send an e-mail to our friendly neighborhood admin.

Many of you have probably already received notice of this. However I am
posting it here as the announcement will have something to do with the
community.
A group of citizens have formed an organazation and will be announcing a
large-scale event that will occur later this summer. This is big news as we
hope to have communities and worlds throughout the universe participate.
You are cordially invited to attend this conference at AW GZ at 9pm VRT on
Friday, March 8 by the ten members of the VOC.
We're aware that Honeydukes' service is at 8pm VRT that day, so if you
cannot make it, and are still interested, please e-mail me at
chrisw10 at skywalkeronline.net and you can receive a chat log of the press
conference later that night via e-mail.
Thanks for your time.
Cordially,

It is indeed the Virtual Olympic Committee. We will be announcing at GZ
when the date of the games are and where you can fill out an application to
have your city or world host the games. This option is for the city and
world owners only. We'll also tell you where your city or world can sign up
to participate in the games.

For those of you who couldn't make it, the press conference went off rather
well. Here are the highlights:
1. Host City/World Applications are online at
http://voc.skywalkeronline.net/
2. City and World signup applications are also online at that website. If
you're a city mayor or world owner, sign up so your city can be represented
at the Olympics!
3. We have 19 approved events so far with more on the way. Events range
from the usual (Chess, paintball) to the not-so-usual (Wacky Races, relay),
to the just plain original (Day Fly, Skydiving).
4. A full events list will be up shortly on the website.
5. A transcript of the press conference will be up on the website shortly,
as well.
6. And if you have any questions or comments, email them to me by hitting
your Reply button. :) Or just ask any member of the VOC. A list of members
is available on the website as well.

You are a little misinformed, I think. They're not planning on rebuilding
the WTC anytime soon. In fact, most of the $10 million + in donations goes
to the victims of the tragedy, not to some government.
In fact, please, quit complaining about what you're not getting. Even a
country as large as the United States doesn't have enough resources to aid
everyone at the same time. I find it interesting that everyone complains
that the US isn't helping them when they do the most aid and relief than any
other country in the world. The US is the most generous country, but you
are right. Some of us are high on ourselves. :)
