lol, tree7m? :) well, atleast you didn't look up, and try to get the

Well me personally, never had AW dreams, but when i first got Halo 2, and
Xbox live, i had like, 3 days of non stop playing, i couldn't get it out of
my mind, in my sleep, while eating breakfast, even in the shower! i'd just
keep on thinking about it, about wht i'd do if someone did one thing or the
other. wore off after a week or so though :) but everytime i close my eyes,
halo!

Curious

May 4, 2006, 2:46am
hmm, bored, well, in my case:

1. A czech friend of mine read about it in a newspaper, then one day, we
were bored sitting in my dad's office online, and decided to download it and
try it out.

2.at first, i didn't stay long, because well, i hated being a tourist and my
dad didn't let me use his creditcard, but what triggered me to finally
register is when my dad agreed to let me use his creditcard. i can't stand
being a tourist and such, so what actualy persued me to become a citizen was
my lack of desire for being a tourist.

3. Well, my first cit was around grade 7 or 8, so around 1998-2000, not sure
exactly. then ever year i would get a new cit instead of renewing, until
about 3 years ago.

4.best feature, being able to own and create worlds. otherwise i'd have no
reason to stay, as was the case in There and SecondLife.

5. I occasionally start working on worlds, but never really get very far,
always start new themes, then quit after the second day of working on it.
But ya, guess a couple of models in Tikiland is the only thing i created.

6.Enjoy either modeling things for AW, then putting them into my world, or
occasionally just chatting. As for building, not my thing.

Growing Up AWstyle

May 5, 2006, 11:55am
well, seeing how i joined when i was around 13 i think, guess this includes
me! :)

1.Well, for the year i was addicted to it, turned me into a shy loner. i got
over that though thankfully. but got to a point of so bad that i couldn't
even look people in the eye much anymore. other then that, didn't really
affect me, but definatly turned me into a bit of a computer geek.

2.Other then my year of being a loner, nothing. real-life fun/social stuff,
always comes first.

3.Nope, just made me more shy then i already was.

4.Well, gained some computer knowledge i guess, and lost nothing really. was
either AW, or watching TV, and i think i managed to balance those 2 quite
well. Oh, homework and studying, lost that, but ever since 2nd grade, was
never too big on either.

5.Didn't really, though in AW i might hang around with people far younger
and far older then me with no problems, in real-life i wouldn't. well, maybe
with someone who's 2 years younger, or 4 years older, sure, but wouldn't be
talking to 14yr olds, and wouldn't be as open with 40 yr olds. So, as for
real-life, AW barely influenced anything.

I agree, sure it's a popularity contest, but things get popular because
they're good.
it might not be perfect, but you can be sure that whatever wins will most
probably be one of the best.

CY nominations SOON!

May 10, 2006, 2:22pm
would never work.
The reason Movies and Games can be rated by a committee is because they give
them the final product, and though they can take things away from it later
on, they aren't allowed to add anything (well, i believe they're not allowed
to add anything not pg). Don't remember how it worked exactly, but was
something like that.
In the case of AW, worlds are ever changing, so something can be PG rate
worthy one day, and X the next.
As for how you can tell, i believe that you can download a bunch of movie
guidelines, don't remember how it works exactly, but you're allowed a
certain number of things overall, depending on the rating, and if you have
too much, say, blood, you'd get bumped up to the next level. Remember
something about Blade 2, where they had to cut off a few scenes of someone
smoking a joint so that they wouldn't be bumped up a level. Just look up the
guidelines anyway.

But that brings about another point, is rating really that big a deal? Just
rate it as whatever you want, and if anyone has a problem, they're free to
leave, it is after all your world, why give a shit about other people being
offended?

Well, most people do world hope, and lots join other people, so quite often
people get around and see worlds.
I can also name several good worlds, which is my point exactly, most good
worlds get a lot of visitors.

CY nominations SOON!

May 10, 2006, 6:24pm
Well, the way it works in the UK atleast (or so i believe):
Male and female ass 12,(not too sure about that one)
anything with female breasts is rated 15,
anything with the parts below the waist, 18.
Anything showing penatration: R18, not allowed to be broadcast, but allowed
for purchase.
Least, thats how i think it is.

lol, don't know how it worked for you, but AW definatly didn't keep me away
from pissing quite alot of money on alcohol, clubs and such. kind of gave me
a reason to go actually, i'd be online, bored as hell, so i'd phone friends
and get them to go out.

But congratulations! So, how long until you start your jet engined training?
:) i
pretty slow of me, but i think i just got your name! Fly Yukon, heheh,
like, when they say Fly British Airways and such. i think anyway? just,
who/what's yukon?

Podcasting Community Into 3D Chatting - But IS NOT Doing It On ActiveWorlds...

May 23, 2006, 3:26am
figured i'd comment, anyway:

Well yes, ofcourse they didn't just walk away and give up, it's a business,
you don't give up on a business that's making you money.

As for stagecoach and such, from what i can see, AW did pretty much sell
out. it switched it's priorities, it is now based completely on pleasing
businesses, not the normal private customers, but then again, it's a
business, please whoever makes you money. But fact is, they did change.
And why, in my opinion atleast, stagecoach moved to the AW platform? well,
it's more flexible. not in the sense of the client itself, but in the sense
that any features they might require, AW is willing to program for them.

But seriously, look at all the features, it really is very business user
themed.

But yes, it's a business, to stay afloat, you've got to simply do what makes
the most profit, otherwise you're just being an idiot. so, who can blame AW
for wanting to make higher profits?

i agree, what you guys don't realise is that by flamming each other, you're
hurting yourselfs more then you hurt the person you're flamming.
not sure about everyone, but for me personally, i always believe that if
someone hurts other people, be cautious because you are no diffrent. Like,
if a friend started talking shit about another friend of mine, to me, i'd
suddenly start liking him less because i know he'd be prepared to go around
and talking shit about me too and chances are, he may have already done
that.

Anyway, just saying, you guys should of just kept it at "Seaside is closing
in 2 week".

Looking nice. anyway,
not too sure, but i think he was asking about like, the playability
features? if he wasn't, i am anyway.
So, will it be just like GTA, where you go around beating people up,
shooting people, and such? or will it be more multiplayer based, teams,
gangs, and controlling turf type stuff?

Grand Theft Auto Project

thats the original one, and second 1 only. you can no longer even sell cars,
and everything now is based on money, not points.
But anyway, don't mean to turn this into an insult america post, which it
isn't ment to be, but violence in video games isn't the cause for children
to go out shooting up schools or killing random people. that stuff only
happens in america, and can only be put down to 2 things, either fucked up
parenting, or a fucked up society, not video games.

Grand Theft Auto Project

ya, i remember being 17, and i was well more then mature enough to handle
playing a game with that much violence.
hell, my 9 year old sister is mature enough for GTA (appart from sex scenes
i guess), and i would have no problem with her playing such games either.
then, i also have a bro who just turned 16, and he's pretty much the one
who's been buying the GTA games sicne GTA 3. and he didn't turn out to be a
serial killer.
fact is, as i said before, it's not games, it's parenting.

Grand Theft Auto Project

May 19, 2006, 8:12am
it wasn't actually offically banned, they just refused to rate it, as in
australia there is no X/Adult rating for games, if i remember correctly.
Anyway, 21? that would mean even i couldn't play it. if i'm old/mature
enough to drive, drink, have sex, live alone, and control my monthly
spending, i really doubt i wouldn't be old enough for violence in a video
game. Video games do not cause people to do violent things, i don't see why
people blame it on games.
i mean, the killing and blood isn't even realistic, it's simply fun, and i
honestly still think that if someone is dumb enough to do what they see in a
game like GTA, then it's simply they're psycopathic/retarded, or/and bad
parenting, definatly not video games.
As for draggin women out of cars, well you can drag men out of cars too,
just depends on who's in the car you're jacking. Would be a little sexist if
you only drag men out of cars don't you think?
And you dont run over pedestrians for money, it's simply that when you do
run them over, you're free to take any money they have on them.

Help a new mac baby

May 30, 2006, 8:17pm
So, anyway, i was in selfridges(mall/gallarie type thing here in london)
today, looking for a laptop for me and my sister, when boom, i saw it,
the MacBook pro, and see, i'm like, the definition of impulse buyer, so
make a long story short, i'm now on a mac laptop, trying to set
everything up before i travel to libya this thursday.

Anyway, so anyone know any good news readers? can't find any! they all
suck! and anyone know anything i can use to run AW? i have bootcamp, but
don't have a copy of windows xp pro service pack 2, so need a temp
solution. anyone know any good like, emulators or whatever? just for a
temp solution.

as for the newsgroup reader thing, using netscape currently, but from
what i can tell, it's shit. doesn't even group the damn messages >_<

oh, anyone have any mac tips? new to it :).
and is it just me, or is everything so much prettier!
