Excluding people from rights

Jul 10, 2001, 7:31pm
Maybe the world server can be made so that you can have everyone except for
a few people have a right. This would make it possible so that mass vandals
in a world could chat, but not build and vandalize.

AW GUI Idea

Jul 20, 2001, 3:37pm
This idea, even if it was implemented, wouldn't work very well or would be
widely used. I can barely move when the window is as large as it can get.
I get less than 4fps when I notmally get 20 in a slightly smaller window
with my 1.5ghz machine. This is just more work for aw to implement it when
only a few people can use it. Its not worth it for them, and I have a big
doubt that they will do it any time soon. (Not like they would listen to us
anyways.)

Instead of priviledge passwords

Jul 31, 2001, 3:12pm
I thought of an interesting idea just now. We could save ourselves a lot of
problems with giving out priviledge passwords and keeping them secret by
doing something else. From your citizen attributes box, you could enter the
citizen number(s) of the person(s) you want to have your priviledge
passwords. Then, when the person wants to use your priviledges, they just
enter your cit number and use them. This enables aw to use no ppws and to
make it so that no one else which other than the citizen numbers you
specified can use your priviledges. Also, no one has to remember any ppws
and you never have to change it. You can even make a checkbox where you
make a list of people you can acquire the priviledges of and check the one
that you want to use. This idea would save a lot of time and hassle, don't
you think?

Instead of priviledge passwords

Jul 31, 2001, 3:42pm
Possibly easier, but definately not more secure. With the idea I had,
everything has to be approved by the citizen to get the rights. There is
only one way to get it without asking the citizen with it. The only way to
to steal the person's account.

Why doesn't the browser resize to fit the screen if you move the taskbar in

Why does everyone hate html format messages?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------=
-------

I think that its mostly because of a few reasons.

1. Many people have nothing better to post about
2. Some people like to start useless off-topic discussions
3. People dislike downloading three times larger files to get ten times =
better looking posts
4. People are reluctant to new ideas

And if there are "viruses" in almost every html post, I would recommend =
that anyone who takes too much caution stop visiting any websites.

Disabling HTML in Outlook Express 5/6

Jul 16, 2001, 12:09pm
If it costs so much to download an HTML message, then why do these people
even use Active Worlds? You have to download and cache an entire object
path and all the locations of each model for each world. That alone is
megbites upon megabytes of data, or for people who don't pay by the megabyte
but by time online downloading, a lot of downloading time. And even then,
you have to clear your cache once in a while making you download even more.

"renewed all" on the IP address box as a tourist in AW, and I jumped to
being back as my citizen self somehow without logging in as a citizen.

How is this possible?
