You might not realize it... But your software if it is the Microsoft
Outlook Express newsgroups reader might have a filter in there of say 100 downloads at any one time. Some NGS readers do that & some don't. When I used to use the default Microsoft newsreader of many moons ago it had that feature in there so you don't over fill the smaller hard drives. You can set that up to whatever your limit is and the default limit is 9999 posts at any one time. And so far i haven't seen 9999 posts of anything in any NGS areas i've ever gone into yet... syli <rflorez at mindspring.com> wrote in <3afd9a26$1 at server1.Activeworlds.com>: >wow.....i've been waiting for an opportunity not to look like an idjit on my >first ng post...i guess this is as good a time as any...lol. This time i'll let it all stay in here for a point...
I TOO could send in all of my copied messages... But if i did that... I'll sure to BLEEP everyone off again. As all of the ones i've been saving are from Just In & my replies to Just In... And i don't want to make Kellee BLEEPED off any more than Kellee is or make Just In any more BLEEPED off any more than he is.... But if you BLEEPING people want to see all this BLEEP again.... I can be very willing to do it all over again... SO with this nonsense... I thing we should help to clean up the NGS by dropping with the saved messages.... It's sure to make us all alot more BLEEPING happier. m a k a v e l i <tupacisdabest at aol.com> wrote in <3afe019b$1 at server1.Activeworlds.com>: >Sorry :-) > >This is what I replied to. Well... This just prooves one thing... The reason that there so many
DMMIES in here that don't know how to post correct. That was a SIMPLE TEST. simple and very effective. I could have said This Is A test Of The JFK Music Services News Reader... But i like short & very sweet tests... And "..." is really short and really simple. I do tests to see the results when doing resettings. Many people don't do it and they get into problems by asking DUMMIES questions... I do it smartly... TEST POST to see if things come out correct. So... This prooves another thing... That all of those making the complaint and one bunch of BLEEPING BLEEPING BLEEPING BLEEPS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I watched my mouth for any little tots that might read this... And believe me... I'll be the first one to PROCLAIM here in the newsgroups...
I have to thank Kellee for helping to finally ending that Just In thing here by offering to tell us waring people the true story about Just In. [I'm the Rick Avatar just under the Win A Free World Click Here sign] last night on Dreamland Park Universe. You might also say that there is a PARTY world there so if anyone wants a Birthday Party... You can have it there... You could also say that Dreamland has a DJWORLD and is the home of all of Dreamland Park Univers's DJ's and special bulds in there for the more famous of DJ's [I know one person that should be entered in there allready.... Danny 2k]... You might also say that there are several OPEN GENERAL build worlds there [Open General means CIT & TOURISTS can Build]. You might also want to inform the people here that Dreamland Park Universe has the 3.1 browser & uses the 3.1 browser commands... You might want to tell everyone here that the worlds cost the same as AW's and you can buy them at any sizes all the way up to what AW has & at AW Prices... Yippie..... I can become the Moderator. Moderators job can be fun in a way...
You can even EJECT the people that are making trouble... You can even help clean up their nasty messages.... [Hmmmm..... I don't know of anyone in here that would ever do that. lol]. you can even repremand those that tend to use the CUSS words... SO.... I am putting everyone on notice hear and now about using CUSS words in an adult NGS.... As far as cleaning up the nasty messages.... hmmmmm..... Well..... Starting with myself... [How many moderators would ever think about starting with themselves... As they are considered the GODS OF THE MODERATED GROUP].... I would have to clean up at least the past few months of my posts... Same goes for Chucks Party.... And likewise to many more people that posted bad things in here..... NOW as far as ejecting people for really being BAD.... I would have to start at the other end of it.... {You'll see why in a moment] SO that means Chucks Party gets the boot FIRST..... Followed by me.... THAT IS RIGHT..... I just gave myself the BOOT for all my nasty things in here.... But then since i just booted myself out of here..... hello Moon Glow... I love DLP too. It's so homey feeling. Yes there are
many things to be said about living in a New York sized universe.... But when the rumers & the hate start... BOY... It goes like wildfire in the AW newsgroups... I'm one of those that have seen that & many others have seen many more times over. BUT in the universe like DLP where it's the homy feeling where you almost know your next door neighbors... That type of romer mills & nonsense is limited way down. It's the type of place i would LOVE to build a world there and be on the FOUNDING FATHERS / SISTERS and see what was a very tiny place become bigger & grow... Like the old timers of AW... Those that have been here for umpteen years... That is a nice feeling... Chuck... Most newsgroups readers have no idea what hatm looks like.
they will almost allways know what a music file is or a picture file is... BUT html file... NOPE. that is best left to a web browser. As you can see... I don't even post in WEB codes. I never have nor will i ever begin. And many times people don't use a newsgroups reader to obtain their files. Some people & i'm one of them that do it will use a picture sucker or news binarries grabber program where all you tell it is gif,jpg,mid,mp3,zip and let it loose in the correct directories and watch your hard drive fill up really fast if you are on a cable or dsl line. I wouldn't be interested in any html files. And since most html files contain some person that is pushing come look at me for $36.95 a month deals... I simply delete any of the htnkl files i ever come across in the newsgroups. WHY don't i post in WEB codes? Look at what your NEWSGROUPS reader is putting out... < = quote to a newsgroups reader. < = could also be the beginning of some html code too <B> = line break in a web page. But that simple web code an make some newsgroup readers go nuts. Butin here... If you were ever to post using web codes... It would be best to explain your moves. [ = < and ] = > and then you would be all set to use all the html codes you want without playing games with most newsgroups raders. [b] = line break [[[YES BOYS & GIRLS... i have come accross some different text languages that use [] for their codes. In that case you have to make do with {} instead. ]]] chucks party <Chucks_Party at hotmail.com> wrote in <3b0551d8 at server1.Activeworlds.com>: >ok but this still does not tell me why you can't post in html, what >difference does it make if it's on a webpage as html or if it's on a post, >it's still html any way you slice it so those same people you said won't see >it still won't see it if there is a link to it, right? I can see why Just In posted like that. And yes he and everyone would want a

My favorite one is this. --------------------------- www.trend.com = Looking on the top of your browser as that site loads you will see Trend Micro home, antivirus software, alerts, advisery, virus, worm, trojan - [my browser type] Microsoft Internet Explorer --------------------------- And on the upper left of what loads click on Virus Information. To me this is the better & more informative of the sites around. It tells you of all the current ones for the past month or so and any alerts or what may be at HIGH or Medium or low risk types. WOW!!! you seem to be one of the real old timers like me to the NewsGroups.
But i can remember all the way back to the days of 600 BAUD DIP SWITCHED MODEMS. And back in those golden oldie days... [Text on a screen went about as fast as a real slow typist] And back then... most people got their info from bbs's rather than Newsgroups. I didn't start to really enjoy being in-line until the 2400 BAUD DIP SWITCHED MODEM came out... at least then the ANSI Graphics loaded halfway decently and you could play the ANSI Graphics of the on-line games pretty nicely [Stackem Door Game] and all your messages for most anyone that had a modem came from the bbs that was connected to FIDONET with the most of what they had to offer. [My favorite part of FIDONET was the FILEBONE... Figures with me though as i was one of the biggest file leaches any bbs operator had ever seen]. If i wasn't in the QWK Offline Downloader for offline reading of QWK Messages Forums... It was Downloading 20 megs of files on a 2400 DIP SWITCHED MODEM. And back in those days... You sure as heck never used ZMODEM... That was Zmodem beware of lost files protocal. It was more common to use Y-1k CRC Modem or X-512-CRC modem protocal. and if you wasted bandwidth... The darn bbs operator BANED you from messages groups for up to 6 months until you got lots of smarts. And what would count as wasted bandwidth? SIMPLE ANSWER IS... On your QWK Messages replies using your offline QWK reader... 1 - Use of too many quotes in your messages... [You do notice that I for the most part kill off most of that. MY BBS PAST TOUGHT ME WELL EARNED LESSONS... 2 - This example would do it too... On the bottom of the QWK Offline message reader you would get ONE line of text. It was called a TAG LINE. And this one line of text usually had something funny in there. BUT if you tried to add tooo much more than that ONE line that could be grounds for...
