No. No. No. Jbell was NOT doing anything ILLEGAL... But in many
of these ISP's they want you to purchase the BUSINESS Account version. And that in many cases is really OVER KILL for the small person trying to get started. I don't use ZoneAlarm... [BlackIce for me] But my nextdoor neighbor
uses it all the time. HE can still run AW but his is a little different. Since he only has a 1st - 2nd generation 3d vider card he has to use the 3.0 browser in software excellerated video mode for him to even see aw... As I've tried many times as a tourist on his computer popping into Broadway world [That is one reason I got away with my Broadway visits... And on his ISP address too] and all Just In could do was say... Hmmmm your friend is in RPG World... Hmmmm..... Eric's friend was sitting there in Broadway World instead whil mine was running at the time in my apartment just down the hall... {How else can a friend show some newbie TOURIST in record time what to do...] just down the hall means one door away down the hall lolol..... But all Just In & OneSummer could do was look on theit contacts [SEE ME LIT] and tell my friend Eric to go shove off as polite as Just In knows how... AIM... on my friend Eric... FIRE [POP YOU HAVE BEEN EJECTED FROM BROWDWAY WORLD] And my friend knows like i do the importance of CHAT LOGS & OTHER LOGS... But any ways... he can get in AW... he has not tried for any other universe like i have... So i don't know if his ZoneAlarm will prevent him on anything other than AW. My BlackIce will let me connect to I'M A CIT IN THESE LOCATIONS.... AW, Vectorscape, Outerworlds, City 4 All, Dreamland Park Universe, Cybernet Universe, and lastly Galaxy Worlds Universe... 1 - Does AW allow for people to buy a cit without a credit card?
Yes They Do Allow For People To Buy Without A Credit Card. I know several people myself that have gotten their cit's buy sending in Money Orders or CASH in the mail method. One of them lives in the Deleware USA area And 2 of them live in Australia areas. 2 - The parent should monitor what the kid does on the PC more. I agree. BUT again... All 3 of my friends that have gotten their cit# by alternate means than Credit Cards also have some parent that is working at the time the kid is home from school & using the PC. So they are not there to monitor anything. 3 - I have meet many more good and ROTTEN teens & preteens in AW. The really ROTTEN teens & Preteens... They are the ones i would KILL to get my hands on a GUN [ejector] and blast their sorry excuse of themselves out.[Only one like that from Australia] The others i can reason with and not have to eject or just reduse their gifts [rights] a little until they smarten up and then i give them back their gifts [rights]. It works 99.99999999% of the time. Here is my HUGE complaint
1 - Those darn FLAME wars. Example : Just In VS FriendPA &/or Chucks Party And FriendPA VS Just IN or Chucks Party vs Just In this holds true for everyone else who is squabling over some stupid thing. 2 - MIS-Spel, MIS-Typ Look... Not all of us are Whiz Kids who have had 50 yrs of schooling in how to type well OR spell well... Just learn to read between the MIS whatever and enjoy the read. 3 - All the other I HATE you & YOU HATE me stuff.... Please Where is the HELP i need info? It's being shafted. MY SUGGESTION... Create one more newsgroup heading called GARBAGE and then all of these ppl that want to blame all the Just In's And all the FriendAP'a & all the Chucks Party's and everyone else can all go post in the GARBAGE one. Anyone who like to read that JUNK can read the GARBAGE group. But please.... Leave the general chat for the newbies and others who are trying to find out some info and need that info... It's hard to go through all the tons of CRAP to find the really few messages that deserve to be read. That is why i usually stay in the BOT & World Owners areas... At least most of everything there is to read... Is not filled with I HATE YOU's ir You are DUMMY or other CRAP. Thanxxx to all of the noce ppl here... I'll go back into the BETTER more enjoyable reading areas now. Ohhhh..... For those of you that want to make a gripe... FINE.... I can take it. I might not read it for weeks though... But i can take it... SO FIRE away with all your I HATE YOU & You HATE ME and SOMEONE HATES AW or anything else you hate... BUT that is my ONLY hate... OK... I forgot to add one complaint...
You can see i'm not GOD and PERFECT... But some ppl need to practice posting on the old BBS software... Heck... You couldn't get anything past 99 lines if you tried. And the old time FIDONET [Before Internet] would not allow for CRAP like this for long... HERE is an example... How long does one of these LONG things have to go on before someone finally waks up and kills off that CRAP you will see below the arrows there... That is just an example of hos most ppl that have never gone through BBS school learned to do... KILL off that long crap... GUES WHAT EVERYONE... I'm Brave... So I KILL it off unless i actually have to post using parts of it... BUT for this post only... I will let you see how STUPID most of you act. I'm sure glad I don't live anywhere WING does... I'm very fortunate
to have several local dial-ups that only charge $9.95 a month for UNLIMITED useage. [www.a-znet.com] was my favorite one for the longest time. Their policy on UNLIMITED means just that. I've been told by many ppl that they hate to see multiple grams sent to them.
AND yes... I've teed a bunch of ppl off by me sending multiple grams. So what I would »»2 #2 - Like to see is to have the darn thing hold more message per gram than it's being done now. And to give you the stupidity of the stupid thing... You are actually seeing what i have to »»3 #3 - Do in order to get one simple message out when the darn thing is set up so bad that you MUST use multiple message grams just to send out one simple thing like i am doing to »»4 #4 - all of you right here & now... SO how many grams does this count as for ONE message... = 4 GRAMS = Just Plain STUPID if you ask me. PS: The arrows are the alt PLUS Number key [alt]+[175} = » and does not conflict with any WEB based commands or newsgroup commands ">>>" might do. Need helpMar 20, 2001, 4:49pm
Well.. Guess what... My nextdoor neighbor had that same problem
right around New Years day on his PC. I did all the standard tests. Scandisk the drives & checked for surface scan... NOTHING Wrong. And we thought there might be a virus since he didn't do virus scanners...MS-Dos F-Prot Virus Scan. NOPE he was very lucky there. WHAT our TECH friend discovered was his 1.6 gig hard drive... It was trying to make it's new home somewhere in the south [DYING] so you just might have to get yourself another hard drive. wing <bathgate at prodigy.net> wrote in <3ab73dee at server1.Activeworlds.com>: >Don't kill me for this, I know it's offtopic. >But, whenever I try to move, rename, copy, delete, whatever a file, >I get a >"File system error (1026)" >Yes I've rebooted, and programs can still work with files, >but I can't. I've been on some of the GOR worlds. Lora = A gor World.
I don't hate ppl if they want to do that stuff. It's just not for me. What i found out in quick time was that many of the GOR worlds don't pick on the tourist all that much. SO I stay as a tourist. TO ME... It's a strange bunch of worlds to visit.... BUT I sure in hell would not want to live there. BUT I don't AND NEVER WILL hate any of the ppl that want to live there and practice what they belive to be right. They make their choice. FINE with me. Just don't get me involved in that as I'm off to explore some other world... In the Active Worlds & more & more so Active Universes Communities too... Vectorscape Universe, Outerworlds Universe... etc... tony56 <tony at triton-dynamics.iwarp.com> wrote in <3ab2e43e at server1.Activeworlds.com>: >I concur with your statements.. Guess what.. I've been running into the same problems. Yes you can
find sites you take your MP3 files... BUT they have to go through the extra web pages that you can't download them direct. What you might try to do is to d a search for FREE WEB SITES and when you find the Free Websites.net one look through it. It contains message forums and an extensive list of web sites that you could do mp3 files. BUT in most every case now you have to have it linked to a web page or extra web page [Click on filename brings up the download web page] OR use it in some sort of on-line broadcasting services. One solution is to PAY $$ for a hosting services [READ the terms of serveices like you MUST read a drivers liscense. AND or the other solutions [If you can't find a friend to help you] is to host your files on your web site. There are many excellent web sohting softwear that won't kill the hard drive for being tooo big. Xitami is an excellent one [I like TINY Web Host for my tests.] And get yourself a FREE host name. Mine is http://www.yi.org = jfk2.yi.org either web or ftp from my hard drive. [same one for my email server &/or newsgrouops feeds when i pop in that type of software]. BUt that might be the only solutions you will be having for a long time. agent fox mulder <jarync at home.com> wrote in <3ab7e0d3$1 at server1.Activeworlds.com>: >Hey everyone,I have been looking all over the internet for a site that >has mp3's(Not mp3s players Or mp3 storage)But for a mp3 site that has >mp3's with >names like www.whatever.com/whatever/whatever.mp3 so i can get mp3s >to play in activeworlds,Also i have been looking to see if i can find a >site builder program to do that with. But i have found not even one at >all. Awwwwww... Geee... That hurts...
After finding that they might work for v1.0.build 100 beta A and he might have the more advanced one... [[[I don't have the software & so i don't want the codes. BUT i have found that is the case all too often. Version & build spiffic stuff here]]] Well... Maybe next time he'll listen & try the many Warez, Serialz, Hackz, Codez web sites around and he would find someplace that had one that would work.
