I don't know if this will work for you but it has worked for me before. Try
this. Say the object is named object.max well just highlight the .max and
change it to 3ds so the file name reads object.3ds

Like I said it has worked on the .max files I found in the net. But I would
do it on a copy just incase it messes up :)

Hi :)

I and a few other people are planning a Halloween event in Spiral Matrix.
The Event will be held in my world "Imagine". I am posting to ask for some
help with the event.

We are using some Mega path objects and some objects from the Freebies
world. Also we are using objects that I have made and some that were found
on sites with free objects. I am not using any AW stock objects. What I need
are experienced builders and modelers. I also need idea people who would be
willing to implement their ideas through modeling and building them.

And please hurry; there is only a month and a half to go till Halloween. If
there are enough people willing to help I think it will be a great event. :)

WRONG!!! Actually as it turns out a lot of people care about SM. I know I
do.

Also, this dose have something to do with AW. The owner of the universe, a
couple other people and I are hosting this event. I was planning an offical
invitation around the beginning of Oct. This event is being planned for the
residents of AW. If you don't care about SM that is your business, but that
dosn't mean every one feels the same as you. Some people may want to
participate with or with out YOUR approval.

This event was not my idea. But I did go along with it. As it turns out I am
the only one in the world doing any building, object collecting, and object
makeing. I would like to see this happen. I think it would be good
advertising for SM and a lot of fun for the cits of AW. I have asked for
help with it, but if no one wants to help that's fine. I'll do what I can on
my own and if it dosn't look like it's going to come together by Oct. 1
there just won't be an invitation, offical or otherwise, cause it just won't
happen.

Again, thank you lightwave for the use of your avs and thank you Shan for
the avs you are makeing. If no one else want's to help out then we will just
see what happens by Oct.1

If you think i'm a bit upset, you are right. I have been working hard and
i'm very tired. I apologize to those who are offended.

The text in the original post in this thread was not meant as spam. The text
was given to Crazy Pills by me to post here. It was meant to be a polite
invitation to vitit me in my world in Spiral Matrix and have a bit of fun
doing a Halloween pumpkin hunt on Halloween, nothing more. I purposly did
not include any comments about buying cits or worlds. I did invite people to
take a look around. It's kind of like inviteing some one to your home for a
party and inviteing them to check out your house.

I have been a part of AW for years and I have a cit both here and in SM. I
have friends in AW who don't mind going between universes to visit. This
invitation is for them and anyone else who dosn't mind going between
universes. Any one who dosn't like it dosn't have to come, but you are also
welcome.

I really think that the poeple who are haveing a problem with them is over
reacting to a simple invitation to a halloween event.

If you read the invitation closer, or at all, it states in the invitation
that if a tourist wins the pumpkin hunt they win a Cit.

Tourists are welcome in SM and in Imagine world. Tourists are also welcome
to take part in the event :) So, not cit needed to participate.

I personally see a need for it. I recently sent a request to the AW news
letter. I requested that they add my invitation to the AW community for my
Halloween event in Spiral Matrix. I personally feel that this did have
something to do with AW since it was an invitation to the community of AW,
but I guess they felt different. Here is the answer I got from them today:

Dear Imagine,

"I apologize for the delay in replying to you. Your request required
discussions with the management staff of AWI as we had not had a request to
advertise for an event in another universe before. We do wish you much
success on your Halloween event, however we do not feel that advertising in
the AW community newsletter would be appropriate. I apologize for any
inconvenience this may cause you.

I know that some universe owners want to keep their existence secret, and
that's fine, but what about the ones who welcome visitors from other
universes? Also, there are those citizens who would like to know where the
other universes are and what they are about before visiting them. I don't
have a mind set of my universe is better then their universe. I would like
to be able to explore any universe I want, have a place to gather info from
the other universes and a place to give info to the other universes. Right
now any info to do with other universes is nothing more then a word of mouth
game. And, the accuracy of that info depends on whose mouth that info is
coming out of.

I am not saying all this as any kind of advertisement for SM, and I don't
know if any of the universe owners would use a news group of this kind if it
is set up. But I do think it is worth trying it incase any of the universe
owners do find a need for it. And I know I would appreciate a place to be
able to advertise my events, if I decide to have another event, without
being bashed in the news groups for offering an invitation.

BTW why stop at a universal news group? Maybe some one out there who likes
to hop around between all the universes would be willing to start a
universal News letter? I think it stinks that I can't even give an invite to
the AW community in the AW community News letter.


Just my opinion on the subject :)

meant. I would never call any one that. Even jokeing with my sister I won't
use that word. It's not alloweed in my house, nor is it allowed in my world.
To keep that word out of my world, and knowing you use it, you are not

Here it is, finally, a easy to follow, non technical tutorial on how to use
rwmodeler (which I just call, modeler) >:o)

On the first page of the tutorials is a link to the modeler download site
and a direct link to the modeler dlls needed to open modeler. And there are
instructions on how to install and get it running.

at the end of the tutorial is a direct link to rwxmod. So far it is the only
direct link to rwxmod I know of since eep took his site down. >:o)

The tutorials don't go into a lot of detail about the program but there is
enough there to get you oriented with the program so you can get started
makeing objects and adding color to them.

I will add a modeler textureing and uving tutorial to the site in the very
near future. So, keep checking back to the site for that.

I hope this will help those who are new to modeling and just want to get a
quick start at modeling, and don't want to spend months learning to model in
notepad or spend a huge sum of money on expencive modeling programs. Modeler
is a free download.

When I read Casays reply to your post and read that you had asked Wayne to
have her stop posting in behalf of Accutrans, It made me sick. Because, what
it said to me, is that you are the kind of person who would ask some one to

How dare you Insanity. I have known Casay for a couple years now, ever since
Accutrans first came out with features that could be used in AW. She was the
one who helped Wayne develope all the features, by giveing him input, and
gathering info, and God knows what all. She was the only beta tester for it
for a hell of a long time. And when it was available to others to test I was
right with her testing and learning to make avs with it. Wayne did a
wonderful job createing that program. And if it wasn't for Casys wonderful
feedback and input their probably wouldn't be any aw features. She was there
at the START!!! How the hell long have you been associated with it? 2 maybe
3 months? Where is all your knowledge in Accutrans? And why should your 2 or
3 months of association with Accutrans override Casys 2 years of hard work?


How dare you call Casay all that stuff in your post!!! In my opinion it's
not Casay being the whinny one here. She also isn't the one trying to be
noticed. And she isn't the one out of control. Like i said i have known her
for a couple years.I know the things you said about her are lies. It was
Wayne that cut you lose, so why are you climeing all over Casay? Are you

This is in responce to a email I got from Heartfall, reguarding the post I
made in responce to insanity (Heartfall).
Since it wasn't posted here in the ngs I won't quote from the email.

You were taken on as the distributor as I understand it. I also understand
that you may have had customers that never heard of AW and you were their
main contact for accutrans, thats all well and good. But, in AW Casay has
always been and still is, in my opinion, the only real spokes person for
accutrans, and as far as I know her position is fully recognized and
supported by Wayne. There is a difference between a spokes person and a
distributor. Companies are not made up soley of Distributors and
Manufactuers. If the customers you were getting outside of aw have never
heard of aw, i'm kind of confused as to how Casays posts in here effect the
people outside. The people in Aw rely on Casays reports in the ngs. I know I
do anyway. Personally I think Casay has more right to post statements about
accutrans in the AW ngs then Heartfall ever did since she was the one there
from the start of the aw part of the development. And since she is the one
who helped develop the Aw features in accutrans. Where the AW features of
accutrans is conserned Casay has the most knowledge of the development and
use of accutrans. And i'm sure Casay also has extencive knowledge of the
other features in accutrans. Untill I see a Formal statment from Wayne
officially nameing some one else AW spokes person for Accutrans, then I will
continue relying on Casays posts about it.

Oh and reguarding the flame referances in the email:
You labled your post as a Formal Accutrans Statment, and because you put
that lable on it you seem to think it exempts you from negative replys.
Aparently you also think that a negative reply is a flame. Well, you can
take the replies any way your little Heartfall desires :) because I took
your Formal statment as nothing more then a slanderous flame on Casay and
all the hard work she has done for and with accutrans, and in aw concerning
accutrans. So, insanity (Heartfall) if this all turns into what would be
called a flame war, just keep in mind that you were the one who threw the
first fire bomb and started it all :) Hopefully it won't turn into that.

Here is a observation and a suggestion :)

I should think that if you came to AW (alpha world) and hung around the GZ
for a couple weeks you would get a more realistic point of view of what AW
is about, the enteractions, personal interaction would get a more realistic
presentation of self. Seems to me that on a questionare people would give
answers more along the lines of what they want people to hear then the way
it really is.
If you are going to do the research then do it! Go and hang out at GZ, make
friends and see how it really is. :))
By the way, the personal owned worlds are also part of Active worlds and the
people in them also have a big participation in Alpha World very often.

Just a suggestion :))
