Diablo 2 worked fine for me before but it won't work on WinXP. When I try to

3DFX tried a new way of rendering 3D graphics that is supposed to be faster
but since it never caught on and almost no games took advantage of the new
technology, many of the Voodoo cards are rather useless. I have a Voodoo 3
that I got about a year ago. It is very slow compared to what I want but
it's more than enough to survive on for now.
Because of the new technology 3DFX tried, I wouldn't expect everything to
work with the Voodoo series of cards. They work differently than most
graphics cards and that can cause a lot of problems that only occur with
Voodoo graphics cards.

LOL.
1) All Microsoft products are shit.
2) WindowsXP isn't as stable as the article makes it seem.
3) Who cares if they know what you listen to? Also, it's not technically
spyware since there is an option in WMP that allows you to stop it.
4) Microsoft would be sued up to their necks before being allowed to use
that "Palladium Project" thing.
5) Screw Microsoft, get FreeBSD/Mandrake/RedHat... Hell, get Mac if you're
really that desperate! :-D

I run XP Pro simply because I'm too stupid for linux. :-P I'm planning on
getting linux later but I'm afraid of going a couple of days without the
internet so I'm waiting till I get my new computer before I start figuring
out how to use it. Once I figure out how to use it, I'll stick it on my
personal comp. ;-)
Anyway, XP is generally stable until I start using my drivers. Once in
awhile, when I connect something to the USB, it beeps a buncha and reboots.
More than once my XP has randomly rebooted only to tell me that it's
completely fucked over when it comes back. I ended up reformatting. And no,
it wasn't a virus or anything, I watch all that stuff closely. My network is
secure and nothing on my computer can be modified by other computers on the
network. It's XP's issue.

Please keep it to one newsgroup and not all of them. And if these posts that
"inform" us come up very often, it may be in your best interest to move them
to a seperate newsgroup server or a web-based forum. Possibly an e-mail
list. Another suggestion would be to put all information on this "The Game"
stuff in it's own topic until that topic gets old. Perhaps you can create a
new topic every week or something but it's rather annoying to see this "The
Game" stuff overtaking the newsgroups.
This is really kind of out of hand. You should know what kind of aggravation
this can cause people.

Babelfish is very inaccurate as I'm sure you know, but I'm sure it'd be
relatively simple. I don't know much about VB at all but it sounds like you
could just figure out how babelfish inserts the line of text and language
into the URL and then download the information from the URL with the line of
text inserted and the language. Then you'd just have to extract the correct
portion of text from the website, which shouldn't be all that difficult.

I know some of you may despise JFK2, but he does have some good
qualities. He made a few good tutorials on some things to help out people
of Active Worlds - most notably this one on creating your own server so that
you don't have to pay for hosting in order to get your images to work in
Active Worlds with the new 3.4 "feature":
http://www.dreamlandpark.com/bbs/index.php?act=ST&f=4&t=67&s=87fc15349e3e7c3
48648a74b2227f044
He also has an interesting one on creating sounds that will play more
quickly by splitting the file up into different parts here:
http://www.dreamlandpark.com/bbs/index.php?act=ST&f=4&t=59&s=87fc15349e3e7c3
48648a74b2227f044
That last one there is interesting - I never thought of anything like
that but it's a good idea, especially for large mp3s and such that people
might not download if they have their settings on the default of not
downloading any audio over 150kb (I think that's it).
Don't make this into a JFK2 thread, please, we've had enough of them.
