That just means they use like googlet processors or something. ROFL, that's
dumb as hell :-P It's the same as if you did dual processors with dual
processors with dual processors. It's unnecessary and dumb! PCs can render
that sort of thing with a nice 2.5ghz processor in a few seconds

you get a bunch of 2.5ghz processors. make them dual processor and then 3 of
them hooked together and so on and so forth. Every procesor after the first
one deducts from it's original speed big time because the speed gets slowed
when it has to go through another processor to get to the actual computer
stuff. You don't really need all that. MAYBE two 2.5ghz processors dualed up
with a Geforce 4 graphics card.
It certainly doesn't require hundred of computers :)

If you plan on networking the computers, I suggest you get another PC. It's

Memory is relatively cheap and can do a LOT for your computer. I would
suggest 256MB of memory. Anything after that is pretty useless.
> - is there stuff I can take out of windows to tune it?
Take out? Err... tune it? I don't get it.. LOL, you can't modify it to go
faster or anything if that's what you mean.

The active worlds compression and all that is pretty permanant. Even if it
did get better, I dunno how you could do anything about it.

Depends on how much system memory you have left to screw around with.
Mar 7, 2002, 2:12pm
LOL, how useless :-P
Linux, the computer monitor, keyboard, and mouse will clost close to $300 at
the cheapest! I could buy an entire (crappy) computer for that price
(without monitor) and install linux on it and use a switchbox with a monitor
I already have.
This is for people who don't have computers, but if they can afford a PS2
and they can afford a monitor, keyboard, and mouse... they would have been
better off getting a $600 computer. Those people who do this because they
don't have a computer are gunna be disappointed. Linux isn't for the
newbies.

Yeh, I guess it does have it's pluses :-)
But then again.. it makes the line between consoles and computers ever
thinner. They keep getting less and less and soon they'll be one in the same

If you live in Libya and you hack a computer server in the United States, it
is considered an international crime and if they want, the United States can
go right in and pluck you out of your country. I believe that there is an
international treaty signed by all countries that states that if you do
something illegal in another country, you can be taken from your country to
face trial in the country that the crime was commited in. Of course, with
the cost of going over there just to take you, you'd have to do something
pretty costly to someone else.

All those webcasters would move their servers to a different country and all
would be well again. So long as the server that hosts your webcast is in a
different country, you are ok ;-)

LOL, I didn't say we would, I said we could :-P
And my theory has been (for a few weeks) that Bin Laden was killed ine one
of those missiles that went into a cave but we haven't been able to find his
body yet. Infact, I'm pretty sure that Bin Laden's fate won't be known for a
long time. But Al Queda (however that's spelt) will soon be nothing but a
few running ducks.

900mhz Duron Processor
3dfx Voodoo3 graphics card
256MB of SD RAM
17" VGA Monitor
Some crap TV card
Some crap sound card
40x CDR Drive
Only thing that effects the speed and bandwidth is RAM and processor. 900mhz
Duron processor goes for about $100 now and 256MB of RAM you could get for
