WHAT?!
"Can You let me use it forever, I'm going to give it away as a prize?"
What happens when you promised someone a free world for a year, and the
owner wants it back?
Great Stragety, AM, since no one will donate prizes, borrow them!

I appreciate your rebuttle, senetor mark, however this is not a political
debate, nor can a 13 year old actually partake in one. Pack your logic bags
and your thesaurus and go back to AWTeen so you can see yourself in bold

This is a PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT (not neccesarily an ad, hehe)
-I've noticed a -LOT- of concern over the Cy Awards as of late, and have
been the recipient of a lot of people's growing concern. I have decided
that this would be a good opportunity for everyone to come together to
express their oppinion based on the topic.
A Cy Awards (Reform?) Debate will be taking place in AWDebate world around
thanksgiving weekend, the date and time will come in a future post, but I
invite you all to attend, especially those who have high concern for the Cy
Awards, and foremost those on the Committee.
-The AW Sense of Community has long been a topic of Debate. There is a
clear consensus that people believe the community is "falling apart."
AWDebate would also Like to use this as an opportunity to re-unite the
Community in a "Community Revivel Debate" Session in AWDebate around
christmas. The goal of this debate will be to bring out the long-asked for
change in the Community. We hope to reach several new goals, and if nothing
else then to see what it really is we want and what is going wrong with the
Community, how to change it, etc. My personal Goal of the Community debate
will be for it to be used as a Launching Ground for new committees and
organizations based to the Unification of the AW Community.
- Thanksgiving Weekend - "Cy Awards Reform Debate"
- Near Christmas - "Community Reunification Debate"
I will post the exact dates and times in a future date, you are all welcome
to attend and reply to this post with questions, etc.
Thank you,

Despite my best judgement, the Cy Awards debate has been confirmed. You are
all welcome (especially Cy Awards members) to attend the Cy Awards debate on
September 23rd at 10PM VRT. Come by AWDebate at that time and share your

I disagree, throughtout the builds I have been seeing bugs get fixed as well
as features added.. As far as I'm concerned they can spend up to another 3
months on the version until I get ancy.. I would only be upset if the new
features were causing new problems, but from what I can tell they are not.
We are paying more for AW then we ever could have dreamed, why not let them
give us our money's worth with their product, even if it means we have to
pay $18 more before we get it..
Distance makes the heart grow fonder :-)
I'de rather wait a month for a version that's a lot better then the
previous, then a week for one that only includes more privacy options :-)
but that's me...

little room for bugs in something as simple as new 3rd person camera angles,
so that shouldn't delay the release much at all. Anyway, I'm not complaining
about it. Looks like this will be a new releaase worth looking forward to,
and if anyone thinks I'm only saying that because I'm on the beta program,
that's not what it's about. I'm on the beta program to take an active part
in helping to make the next version of ActiveWorlds a better product. When
I first got on the beta, I was crashing all the time with no warnings or
error messages. There's no way I would put up with so much trouble just for
an early look at the next version, but the worst part is over and I'm happy
to say that from my vantage point this beta [build 443] is looking pretty
stable now, and these new features sound pretty good. Besides, since people
bugged the heck out of ENZO to squeze certain changes they wanted into
version 3.4 a new alpha version was necessary, so as long as the beta stage
has to go back to the beginning they may as well give us a few extra things
to test at the same time.

I hate to pull the "oh yeah, well!" trip on you.. but I'de like you to show
me ANYTHING-ANYWHERE that you can "truly" say whatever you please....
Once again AWC is a COMPANY, not to be confused with COUNTRY.
They are not "denying your freedoms" by moderating.. if you wanted to get
pessimistic you could go as far as to say they could really do whatever they
damn well please to us.. as long as they keep that cancelation button easy
to find.. I'm just glad i'm allowed to say what I feel and not be removed,
UNLIKE what many COUNTRIES allow..
Americans take their liberties for granted... even when they are taken away
by their own nation for the name of a false sense of security, we spend our
time complaining about what a company has decided not to let us do with
their programs....

Hey guys,
|
Here is a movie taken in NewAW. It is 25 megs cuz I don't know the first
thing about WMV encoder. It's also a little choppy so if you have a slow
connection wait for the reviews before downloading.
http://objects.activeworlds.com/newbuild/images/flyover5.wmv
Some of the things you will see are the new camera angles, the seqs attached
to different environments such as flying, swimming, running - the seqs also
have sounds linked to them. Then we go for a flyover of some of NewAW using
the UberJetpack from Acme, it's really fast... the first couple of times I
hit trees :) we go for a swim and then fly to the mountains where I get
altitude sickness...
Enzo
I will probably replace this with a better clip tomorrow.
