He uses a different method that does not require a browser patch.
btw., the method he uses shows quite clear that he isn't a script
kiddie. It must have required some analysis to use his method.
AW sure could stuff this hole but would loose all backwards
compatibility to older browsers and older world servers. I wonder
why they didn't introduce the change with the forced upgrade, but
otoh. I enjoy talking to Sleepy E and that wouldn't be possible
anymore then (at least for a while *g)
p.s.: Trash your outlook and try a better newsreader, you replied

You might not have seen that its a special command and needs
to be enabled in some cases. There must be a hack out there
though, as it sometimes seems to work in worlds that don't
have this feature enabled.
The "special command" link doesn't work, if you need to know
more about it, the correct link should be

With a given prototype you can load/use a Win32 DLL with all Win32
compiler languages and with most P-code compilers and interpreters
too. You don't need M$ products for that.
Without a prototype, it's quite useless though.
LoadLibrary, GetProcAddress and FreeLibrary are the functions you
will need. Store the function pointers that you get from GetProcAddress
in pointer variables, typically like
<returntype> (FAR _stdcall *foo) (<parameterlist);
You can then call those functions like
ret = (*foo)(<parameters>);

Should be, yes. I use NT4 (boots a 32bit kernel, not through DOS)
and it's quite reliable compared to the 9x series - but comparing
it to a *ix makes it still not look too good.

Alt+7 is BEL - one-digit ASCII
Alt+12 is FF - two-digit ASCII
Those 4-digit "ASCII" are unicode, not really ASCII
Even those 8-Bit codes between 128 and 255 are not
really ASCII, they are not standard.

I might be wrong, but from what I understood, a citizenship that
came with a world cannot be owner of this world, although I heard
where were some (or one?) exceptions.
So you will need to stay on your current world owner ID in order to
keep your world(s) running.

Well, there already has been a discussion about a simiilar
issue, I think it was in Jan or Feb 2002. Someone wanted to
buy a world and use the citizenships that came with the world.
If I remember right, this was not possible back then and just
allowed as an exception.
I think it was no renewal, so might be not 100% comparable.
You'd better ask someone from AW about it, they will be the
only ones who can give a final answer.
The pricing page states :
> Citizenship is required for world purchases
but there's nothing about renewal, so you might have the choice
to use your world citizenships to renew the worlds.

Usage
noise URL [overlap]
Description
.....
As with the sound command, URL can either be the name of a
sound local to that world (i.e. a sound located in the "sound"
folder of the world's object path) or it can be an absolute URL to
a .wav, .mid, or .mp3 file anywhere on the World Wide Web.

source : http://www.activeworlds.com/help/noise_command.html
so it should already work

Facter isn't gone either. Let's hope that Flagg will stay in
AW too.

I must confess that my first thought when I heard about the
accident was similar : will Bush use it as "reason" to attack
someone?
This is not disrespect for the victims of this accident, it
shows how little I trust bush and how pervert I think he is.
But this was definitely an accident, technical failure or human
failure doesn't matter, no one planned to kill those astronauts
and I doubt that anyone is happy about it.
It is an international event though, people from more than one
country are involved in the project and the space station is not
so much a political thing anymore. Astronauts and Cosmonauts
have been used in weird political "games" but this time seems
to be medieval to me, past, and should never return.
Space and space science is a big thing, countries and nationality
should not count up there. I am sad to hear that those people
died like this, no matter where they have been from.
