Woah, slow down there kid. Just because theres a PHP port of the aw sdk,
doesn't mean you can go off and make full bots in it. I highly recommend
that you use Visual C++, or Visual Basic for that matter. I know you can
get VB for free off of Microsoft's website, its under something like
Microsoft Visual Basic Control Creation Edition 5.0. If you want to make
bad bots, that crash very often and are hard to set up on other machines, go
ahead and use php, I suggest that you set the max running time of a script
to a few years.

*gosh*

You also don't need to make 100 threads, this isn't your playground. Reply
to your old ones. Also, the useless nonsense goes in general.discussion.

[View Quote] Duh, of course the views are going to be negitive, and most of the time
wrong, its an anti-microsoft site. Any anti-anything sites are going to
have a negitive view of the world. They will be jaded to the product that
they are, uhm, against. They will post false things most of the time to
make that product look bad. Omg, they said that they taliban uses microsoft
products. Do you think that microsoft and the taliban are in together to
destroy the world??? I think not, mirosoft dosent care who uses his
products. If you were a knife maker, and someone used your knives to kill a
man, is part of the blame put on you?

> If you don't want to believe anything I say, that's your problem not mine.

That it is.

> Be aware that the site does contain a bad word in the title. Maybe if
you'd
> actually read other articles rather than the "pro-MS" ones, since they ARE
> payed off by microsoft employees, you'd be aware of the inherent evil that
> Microsoft is.

Wrong, only little kids say that "Oooo, microsoft is the big bad giant
coming down the beanstalk to wreak havok on my machine." Oh, and heres an
unpaid ad for microsoft: "I like windows more than linux. It has more
programs, more games, etc."

Why do you even have windows installed if you are on a hate canpain against
it, why are you even using outlook? Run this hate campain in another news
group, running only linux and a non microsoft news reader.

> Do you think they're going to tell you they're putting code
> in? no that's microsoft. They're a monopoly they don't need to follow
> rules.

Uhm, yes they do.

> And before you say they do, they don't.

They still do...

> That's why they've jumped into the console development.

No, they jumped in the console bandwagon because they can make even more
$$$. $$$ is good.

> They've already told a lie ahead of time "our
> console outsold any previous console to date, but we won't release the
exact
> number of sales." I'm done arguing a point that's so blantently obvious.

Give me numbers, and I will belive. I may be with you on this one, and
*only* this one.

> Windows is the wrong platform.. if you want to do just internet
> applications, Unix solves that just fine.. desktop version? there's linux.

So, I cant run UNIX on my desktop machine? Are you going to stop me?

> Graphics development? Macintosh.. the good majority of games are being
> ported to Macintosh OS X which means that they are compatible on some
level

Wrong! They are compatable with Darwin, darwin is not linux at all. It is
a messed up FreeBSD kernel. FreeBSD = linux? No!

> There's all 3 of known system types, Internet applications,

No.

[View Quote] Yes, I have. I am a great supporter of the "linux cause". I have Darwin on
my mac, and had linux, until a while ago on another machine. When I get
around to it, its going on this machine. I may not be a hardcore addict
like you, but I do know my stuff.

> I told you this site is
> based soley on fact.. the person there is a computer science expert.

Did I ever say he wasnt? :)

Are you sure about that?

> I'm using Windows now because I can't run the server in linux without

computer

Ok, so, use WINE.

> Have you even read the site, or tried to look at the info?

Why, yes I did have a look at it. My arguement about the knife salesman
still stands about the front article. The only use for the site that I
found is the list of non-microsoft operating systems, although not complete,
it is still, somewhat massive.

> no didn't think so, it's all based on fact.

Suuuure it is.

> And no Microsoft doesn't have to
> follow the rules, they've broken so many anti-trust laws it's not even
> funny..

They were taken to court, they lost, but then won. They still, won. Sure,
they lost in the begining, but the appeals court said that they were free,
they won.

> OEM payoffs, charging companys for every computer they make.. etc
> al. Microsoft does pay off companies to write good reviews for them.. See
> the new XP commercial? No where on it does it say "Windows XP will not
allow
> you to fly" so they're making people belive XP allows them to fly ;).

Think, use commen sense. Have you ever seen another human fly? Its so fake
you can almost see the cables that hold them up.

> Perhaps you should read and try linux, macs, BSD before you say microsoft
is
> the best.

Uhm, excuse me? I am a hardcore mac user, I also love linux and what its
doing. I spent a week 600 miles from home and spent enough money to live
for a month to learn the fundimentials of linux. I not another anti-linux
person.

> Any program in windows has a counterpart in *nix or macs, most
> games are compatible in Macintosh.. and all the games that aren't are
WINE compatible.

Ok, does Activeworlds have its counterpart in unix, linux, darwin, OS9?
Maybe atmosphere... Thats still a far way aways from AW.

> Even try to do that yet? nope, good job. As xelnaga said after
> I asked why don't people realize what bad things microsoft does "Do babies
> realize how bad formula milk is for them?" Good stuff Xel.

If it was bad for them, wouldnt it not be on the market? :)

> I'm done with
> this now.. don't reply.. but even that's futile since there's a 99% chance
> you won't listen. Sorry I had to rant yet again.

Oh, but I am listening. You also wernt ranting, there are plenty of other
people that would have gutted me alive in here for saying that I liked
microsoft.

Darwin, Mac OS X, does work on intel x86 processors :). Read up before you
fly off the handle. Linux is a free OS, but in some cases, its not, you can
purchase different kernels. You also seem to think that theres only linux,
winblows, and Macintosh operating systems. What about HP-UX, Unix, FreeBSD,
and all the other operating systems? Those are commonly used, not as much
as linux, but they are still used a lot. I know windows is not better, but,
as you say, more than 75% of the world runs on it, so, blend in, stop going
bitch-nuts because someone likes Microsoft. Your not going to change their
ways. Its ok... We are still waiting for a valid list of what makes VC++
bad... Provide it, and this thread will die.

If your talking about the GUI, yes. But everything else is in the x86
build. You can also solve the problem of the GUI with setting up Xwindows
on top. Easy.

Feb 16, 2002, 6:51pm
It has been done, but AW didn't like it ;). There's no SDK methods to log a
bot in as a citizenship. So, sorry :(. You could play with VB and some
tools that would take control of aw and work like a bot :). But, without
the AW browser, you cant log in as a citizen. Sorry :(.

Cannot be done (I think), the bot would need to connect to a universe. I

"Dion go" - seems to explain itself.
"f*ck" - Swears are bad for little boys :).
"ur" - What? Don't you mean 'your'? Learn to spell.
"gay geeky" - How would you know he's gay without first hand experience? ;)
"boyfriend" - So, Dions also gay, how would you know? :O
"CarL" - Must be this boyfriend your speaking of.
"neither one of you have friends in real life..." - How would you know this?
Are you an evil stalker? I think your the one with the stick up your ass,
maybe you should make a few more friends?
"OR ONLINE WHICH IS EVEN MOOOOOOOOORE PATHETIC!" - Trying to act cool and
tough online is far more pathetic. Go steal someone's lunch money.

Not everyone is lucky enough to be able to download all that you've posted.
Jesus, its close to a megabyte that you've posted. Are you ready to send a
