I took some pictures for those of you not on beta (not to say I'm on
beta...) of the new object properties and object types in this build of
4.1 (dont know if these are in the final version of 4.1). Just a sneak
peak for all you builders out there.

Strike, get off your high horse. It doesnt take too long to pick up a
programming language and be quite adept with it. Also, if one is
willing to pick up clean and good coding practices at the begining,
there's no reason they cant produce code just as good as someone who's
been programming for *years*. Its all how you want to learn, and how
you apply what you've learned.
I do this for a living, I get paid to produce less code that does more.
So far I've stayed out of your little hissyfit with this dude selling
his "bots". Strike, I have some respect for you and what you've done in
the past, but right now Im telling you to drop it. Seriously. If he
wants to sell his bots, let him. If they arent any good, word will
spread and they wont sell. Think about it this way, how would you have
felt if someone walked up to you when you were first starting to program
and said "You're no good at it, give up!!".
Also, 7 or 8 *thousand* hours?!?! Thats just under a year of programming
24/7. No sleep, no eating, no sex.
Stop pissing all over this kid and his dreams strike.

Any one with a legal copy of windows should have zero problem with
windows genuine advantage. I've installed windows dozens of times on

Microsoft and explain the situation. Windows Genuine Advantage works

This is the first release of AW Messenger, a little application that
sits in your system tray and notifies you about unread telegrams. No
need to have AW open all day, just have this little utility running.
You also dont need to close it to open AW, it will automatically
disconnect from AW when it detects that AW is running, and reconnect
when it detects that you've closed AW.
It's a little experimental at the moment, so I would appreciate any
feedback or bug reports to john at fakeplastic.com .
To use, just edit in your login information into the settings.ini, and
launch AWmessenger.exe.

In your activeworlds directory, go to the Default directory, open
controls.ini, change VOIP=1 to VOIP=0. This is a really awful way to
turn off VOIP.

So, I was just minding my business today, hopping around worlds, when I
hopped into mine... and I found a tourist there just minding his own
business. Normally, this would be fine, as tourists are people too.
But, my world is private, and doesn't have tourist access enabled. So,
this was very odd that a tourist was there. The tourist's name was
"gary", he was located about 20M up, near GZ. I checked my rights
dialog to make sure that tourists had no access, and confirmed that only
three people can get into my world, none tourists. I tried ejecting the
poor fellow only to get "No such user." back from my world server.
So, I went to the world server logs... and this is where it got
interesting. No "gary" had entered my world... But, looking up his
session number lead me to this section of my world log:
06/04/2006 19:31:00.078 24.54.42.30:4353 CONNECTION

So, this "gary" tourist had connected, but been shunned by my world
server... three times. So, what was he doing so high near GZ? This is
my question to you.
1. No tourists are allowed in my world period.
2. He wasn't at GZ. (where people drop in).
3. He had been disconnected by the world server several times, and never
did he "enter" the world.
4. This isn't a problem with my browser, as a magsbot I logged in saw
the tourist as well.
Full logs can be found at: http://john.fakeplastic.com/gary/gary.log,
and a picture of the tourist can be found at

I dont know WHAT you're talking about with the dells. I've delt with
tons of dells, from their low range desktop models up to their
enterprise server products, and everything is built up to standards.
You can upgrade memory, drives, processor, add in any PCI, PCIE, PCIX,
ISA, whatever cards. If you wanted to you could swap out the
motherboard with a different one too that you could buy off newegg.
Building a computer is really not a good trick to teach a beginner.
There's just too much to take into account. Dell is an excellent way to
go if you're starting out looking for a good deal, or like me, and just
looking for a good deal.
I personally *can* build my own machines, but prefer to pick them up
from dell. I've got a warranty that dell provides. My machine breaks?
Send it back. You cant do that with a home built computer. Plus,
their next day delivery and business service agreements have saved my
ass a number of times at work.
Seriously, dell is not a bad thing.

Agreed that they need to unpack the SDK ASAP. The draconian method used
to protect the SDK is much less than they use on the browser, its crazy.
Without the tools to debug applications, bots just wont get developed.
Bots don't get developed, people loose interest, fast.
Well, at least we have 4.1 preston, that should be more than enough for
any SERIOUS developer. You and your "C++", strike, pft.
