Briefly skimming over the page, it seems like someone is trying to
conspire against the Gor worlds. If you are into conspiracy theories, check out http://www.rense.com and http://www.prisonplanet.com instead. -Builderz [View Quote] Hmm...Mar 3, 2005, 1:13am

-Builderz Buyer Beware!Mar 10, 2005, 8:39pm
This is old news. It is called "phishing" and it isn't limited to just
PayPal. People try to imitate eBay and other banks as well. A good idea is to assume that a company already has your credit card number and other important details on file. If they need it, they would most likely call you via phone instead of send you an e-mail. Instead of clicking a link in an e-mail, type the URL of the site (such as https://www.paypal.com for PayPal) instead of clicking on the link in the e-mail. Also, scan any and all e-mail attachments before you try to open/execute them. -Builderz Most stupidest idea goes aheadMar 14, 2005, 12:44am
Why not put your time to good use if you are so bored instead of
spending days/weeks at a time in your "isolation room?" Imagine what might happen or how the world might change if everyone that was bored used their time wisely for positive things, doing good, helping others, etc. -Builderz 1 Successful night in the chamberMar 14, 2005, 3:54pm

I read "Snow Crash" years ago and made a post about it ages ago here on
the newsgroups. Yes, some of the things in AW appear to be "borrowed" from "Snow Crash." If you enjoy the book, be sure to check out other works by Mr. Stephenson and watch movies like "Tron," "Johnny Mnemonic," "The Lawnmower Man," etc. -Builderz Free hosting for Magland ??Mar 16, 2005, 2:50pm
Michael JacksonMar 16, 2005, 11:51pm
I think that the Michael Jackson trial is really just a "fluff story"
and there are lots of other important topics that the media should be addressing instead. As for the GKs/PKs, if you do a search on the newsgroup, I think this topic has already been talked about numerous times in the past. What more is there to discuss about it that hasn't been touched on already? -Builderz Builderz MemoirsMar 18, 2005, 9:54pm
Hey, Pyro! Long time no chat. :)
I made a post about my little page in the newsgroups a while ago and gave a link to it. I forgot the page was still accessible via Google, though. It was really meant for just a few AW users to read at this point in time. It is really just a rough draft for now. There is so much more stuff I want to add to it (pages worth of more information). I have a very old computer buried somewhere in my basement that I want to try and "resurrect" one day when I have the time. I haven't touched that old PC for years, though. Unfortunately, I'm not even sure if the hard drive still spins up. But one of these days I'll try to fix it and put the information online if I can. It has dozens of old screen shots and chat logs of my very early days in AW and large events that took place within AW. Screen shots of Protagonist, the famous Broadway world parties, my very first trial world, cities I helped build with Ima Genius and Byte Me ages ago, the old BORG world, etc. I also wanted to write about so many others I left out of the first draft. Anyway, I hope the page gave you a laugh. If I ever get around to updating the page, I'll be sure to make another post here about it. -Builderz [View Quote] Builderz MemoirsMar 27, 2005, 6:23pm
Yes, I will certainly add something about NG Survivor, too.
Unfortunately, I don't have very much free time due to college, running my own business and the chores of daily life. Does anyone know what Nornny has been up to lately? -Builderz [View Quote] Alphaworld servers lately....Mar 22, 2005, 11:54pm
AW uses InterNap bandwidth (which is generally very good). Check this
page out to see how their routing looks compared to other major bandwidth providers: http://scoreboard2.keynote.com/scoreboard/Main.aspx?Login=Y&Username=public&Password=public If the routes all look okay, then it most likely an issue with your ISP or the AW server itself. -Builderz On the lighter side from the Boston StPatric's day paradeMar 25, 2005, 1:24am

Is that a real telegram or did you just make that up? Taking a screen
shot of the telegram in your browser might provide more proof that it is real, but even screen shots can be faked. I'm not doubting what you say, just trying to get you to back up your claim. -Builderz Early end to isolationMar 30, 2005, 3:10pm
If you look at some of the school shootings that have occurred in the
past, a majority of the shooters were on some type of prescription drug such as Prozac, Ritalin, etc. Also, many teens like to drink soda, which can have aspartame in it. -Builderz [View Quote] Early end to isolationMar 30, 2005, 10:58pm
I'm not going to debate the exact cause of the shooting with you. I'm
also not going to debate whether or not certain drugs help or hurt people more. I don't want to start a flame war, either. However, I've found some interesting links that will hopefully make people think about what they put in their bodies that may affect or alter their behavior. There was an interesting documentary made about it a few years ago. The point of providing these links isn't to prove who is right or wrong. All I want you to do is read the information and decide for yourself if the things I mentioned may have played a part or not in the recent shooting. That's a very long paragraph you wrote there, HighFlier. You might want
to break your post into smaller paragraphs next time so it is easier to read. -Builderz Leaving AW SoonApr 4, 2005, 5:55pm
We could argue all day about why this OS is better than that OS. The
fact is, about 90% (last time I checked) of desktop computers use Windows. From a business standpoint, a company wants to "go where the money is" and would most likely come out with software that works on the most popular OS (which would be Windows). Adding support for additionally OSes in the future would be nice, but if it doesn't generate a reasonable amount of profit to a company, it probably won't happen. Sorry to say, but that's just how it is. Now, if everyone that was using Windows suddenly shifted over to a Linux distro or ran out and bought a Mac, then I think businesses in the software industry would have to take note of this since it would have the potential to hurt their bottom line. Linux and Mac usage will slowly grow over time and eventually reach a decent amount of desktops, but for now, most companies just don't feel the need to support multiple OSes. Have you tried using any emulation software to get AW to run on Linux? I believe someone was able to get it working in software mode, but some of the features didn't work or it crashed a few times. In any case, at least AWI has servers that work under Linux. It would be a hard sell if you couldn't host worlds under Linux, but you can at least do that much. -Builderz [View Quote] > I realise the hike in Cit costs is part of it. Coree,
I don't know all of the details regarding your beef with Pyro, but let me share my experiences with her. She was a world hosting customer of mine for several months and had a good track record of paying on time. I've been friends with her for a few months. Just this week I purchased two avatars from her world MaddSale that were $3.00 each, which I thought was a very good deal. She informed me that she suffered a small stroke and was having some difficulties as of late. I told her not to rush since I didn't need the avatars by any particular date. However, she was able to send me the two avatars, along with their textures, within 48 hours after I paid via PayPal. I password protected them, put them on my path and they work fine in my world. For $6.00, I think I got a nice deal. As far as the I, Robot or other avatars go, I can't comment on the legality of selling avatars that may be trademarked or copyrighted. However, I have seen Star Wars and Reboot avatars for sale in the past by others. -Builderz [View Quote] *snip* London bombingsJul 9, 2005, 3:30am
I had a pretty good feeling that some sort of an attack would take place
during the summer of this year, but I wasn't sure of the location. If you carefully look at the news wires often and read between the lines, you can get a general idea of what's really going on. This coming from someone that is supposed to be offering free world
hosting to others... Ry, have you tried resetting the world after you added it to the world admin tool? You need to add a world and then reset it sometimes to be able to enter. Did you check the world rights to make sure that tourists are allowed to enter since you are trying to enter as a tourist?
