Ethereal - The Underworld Maze
Starts February 1st The competition is open to all and is based on a Underworld (dungeon type) maze (similar to an early rpg computer style game) where the contestants have to complete a quest and answer questions along the way. All entrants that successfully complete the Underworld Quest will receive a prize of an Ethereal T-Shirt. There will also be extra prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Quest. These positions will be decided at the end of February - after the Underworld finishes - via a mini-quest playoff or a questionaire, depending on how many people complete the Underworld Quest. Additional Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd are yet to be decided. The Underworld is a maze that covers around 80,000sq metres and includes player interaction with 4 bots that also auto-save the players current state of game play. Thus allowing the player to complete the quest over a period of time - well you have all month to do it! :) Any questions, send a tele to me. Update!
As per the extra prizes for 1st/2nd/3rd below: 1st - Avatar designed for you 2nd - Building Plot (Ethereal) 3rd - PS Status Ethereal (2 weeks) Note that you also still get the T-Shirt as well as. If 1st/2nd or 3rd is a "tourist", then the tourist will be given a citizenship with the T-Shirt as the above are not really helpful to a tourist :) [View Quote] Fake Cy's Must Be Stopped!May 25, 2000, 1:09pm
Hmmm....
[View Quote] I should hope not! Private worlds should be operated by those that privately own them and not be open to such a possibility from an "unknown" citizen. If what you say is true I will immediately gain a list of all committee members and put their cit num's on the eject list for all worlds I perform caretaker duties for. Only authorised citizens should have that kind of power in a private world. > > I think at that stage the naughty world owner would really get the message > its not okay. I think in most cases a world owner would delete any such object upon request, but upon looking again at the CY website I don't see any copyright information, therefore I doubt if you have the authority to remove the object. As the Count said, maybe the statue might look good in the outhouse, sounds like the most useful place for it. > > Regards, Justin > [View Quote] -- Cheers, #--------aka Who----------# Ricta /#--email ricta at ricta.net--#\ / #----fidonet 3:640/954----# \ / #--Gold Coast, Australia--# \ Fake Cy's Must Be Stopped!May 26, 2000, 8:33am
You are stating multiple people have use of Citizen #1 - especially all
those on the CY committee can gain access to it. Is this another abuse of power? Join the CY committee and thus gain full rights in every world? Sounds like a real good "community" organisation in this case... > Hmmm, did I start this rumour? I think yes but only because someone did
> not read what I typed! I said "Don't AWCI staff (who are on the committee) > have ED in all worlds?" Hmm.. no you didn't say that at all, maybe you should quote what you typed rather than rephrasing it to represent what you meant :) Anyway - its over with now. And I do read what is typed. -- Cheers, Who Shadow Bot Script (Xelagot)Nov 21, 2000, 11:22pm
Well, no more complaints about missing things from the install
instructions so the Shadow bot is released as is. :) Shadow Bot (Adventure/RPG style script for Xelagot's) http://www.ricta.net/ethaw/shadow.html Note there is now a help guide page also available there (will be updated slowly) For those of you who are familiar with the adventure game in eth2/ethereal the answer is "No, its not the complete script used by these bots in these worlds. It's only the basic engine, special quests and items are not included, you have to add your own :)" -- Cheers, Who Need helpMar 21, 2001, 11:39am

Hi,
[View Quote] Thats worth a smile! I remember a year or so ago and the response the thought of Linux got from you :) shame you went Red Hat though ;-) gdr.... -- Cheers, Who Announcing our new Hosting PricesApr 4, 2001, 12:37pm
Hi,
<..snip...> > And since you mention Red Hat...one of the BIGgest problems with linux is all the different versions...I chose RH because someone had > a CD of it hehe, and it's supposedly good for newbies such as myself. But linux reminds me of the protestants, too many sects. :) > Also, the docs suck, support sux, etc. it's just not as easy to deal with as NT/2K. It certainly has its place but I think I'd > rather go BSD on my next unix box. Sorry, have to disagree. Linux is linux. The commands and OS are the same on each distribution, its only in terms of installation and various ways to incorporate extra apps that alters the paths etc betwen distro's. And there isn't much difference to BSD. Btw, there are tons of docs on everything - in a lot of cases you can't even avoid getting the docs when you install apps etc even when you don't want them. Just as "dir" is the sae no matter what version of MSDos or Win you are using, "ls" is the same on every flavour of linux. Still as you say, AW was written for Unix/Linux, so it runs better on Linux, there are some things that run better on NT. -- Cheers, Who Caretaker X1 Xelagot enhancementMay 1, 2001, 10:11am
Hi,
Well you know me, and I am used to your version numbers. I do fully expect that after you reach 2.9999999 the next version will be 2.999999910 ;-) Or do i remember an 8 digit limit somewhere? [View Quote] -- Cheers, Who |
