If you have the proper "lookup" code you can reduce the search for a
specific citizen number. Plus, how many citizens does someone plan to ban?
Geez...

The AW SDK *IS* Thread-Safe!

I have one question about your code... Since it concerns real time, why
arent you using pointers instead of variables? That would increase/enhance
code manipulation and time.

What is API?

Apr 11, 2000, 10:41pm
Forgive me, this is my first year programing with C++ and I am only on
pointers and dynamic arrays. I do not understand what the Documentation for
the sdk means when it says API.
I understand how to call aw_init and what initialize means, but what is API?

Call aw_init to initialize the API
http://www.activeworlds.com/sdk/writing.htm

(is API the class?)

Thanks in advance

FreeLook

Freelook really sucks for 1st person shooter fans, its nothing like 1st
person shooter. you can look everywhere with the mouse but where you look
doesnt effect the direction your going. Your always going the same
direction. You dont turn on the y axis, so you still need to turn using the
arrow keys.

Is it possible...

Apr 16, 2000, 1:27am
I know, I talked to someone about this on AW, but it was of course a nobody.
I know the guy who is the core programmer for server streams of mp3s. He
even has his own stream up.
His webpage is http://www.tagstrance.com
Anyways, Im sure its possible. Understanding how it works, all AW needs to
add is some MP3/network reading software. The biggest problem is what Hertz
the file would be. The larger the Hertz the more bandwidth. An average mp3
file is 4-5megs. So an 28k user would spend 10 minutes or more downloading
the file, or if your streaming the mp3, it would skip constantly.
If AW uses streaming, it wont be in trouble like Napster is, but if it does
require download, that would get AW in trouble :).
