I am requesting that Activeworlds.com Inc. (or Activeworlds Corp or =
whatever) please set up a new newsgroup called Townbuilders. I provides =
these reasons as following:

1. This shall be a place for towns-related matters.
2. Why does worldbuilders get its own newsgroup while townbuilders =
don't?
3. This shall be a place for towns advertising and etc.
4. This shall be good place to talk about towns-related matters away =
from burning newsgroup building (meaning a center for flaming posts)

I'm sure SW Comit, SW Chris, Syntax, CMM, KAH, Moff Piett will support =
this. SW Comit and his staff were builders of city called SW City, while =
I know KAH had built town, while Moff Piett had told me it was good =

it. Yes I know this community newsgroup may be good place for it but I'm =

Feb 25, 2006, 9:21pm
Greetings, ladies and gentlemen:

I'm testing my recently installed OE-QuoteFix... please tell me if
this test posting satisfies the Active Worlds Newsgroup Charter. If not,
please give me some feedback. Thanks in advance.

But I want to also emphasize that I do not wish to eliminate my
signature full of quotes because these are historical quotes and,
considering the fact that I'm a history buff as evident in those quotes
and my previous conversation involving histories (besides politics and
etc.), I want to raise the awareness of history and to promote the
importance and values of our world and national histories (your nation).

I would like to also thanks Andras, a highly respected and prominent
citizen of Active Worlds, for his recommendation for this software, OE
Quote-Fix. I owe him a debt.

Well, that's a new concept to me.. I never heard of such quotes or
signatures being randomly picked each time I posts to newsgroup. I have
Outlook Express (but you probably know that... otherwise you wouldn't
have pointed me to OE Quote-Fix :p) and I looked all over the Outlook
Express 6... I can't find it. Is this something I need to download, a
new feature of OE 7 or update (patches), or is it something that OE
Quote-Fix does, even though I couldn't find any options for it?

Thanks in advance. :)

Alpha World request

Jun 29, 2003, 12:48am
I propose a compromise that a new twin Alphaworld be created
(Alphaworld-sized world (32750x32750 cells)) with most of 3.4 features
including 3-axis rotation and other enabled. OR Maybe create a new
Alphaworld-sized world but this time uses the latest dump prop (or something
like that, I'm not really familar with it.) at the time of creation of new
Alphaworld and so it will enable to continue building on your properties,
this time same properties in different but similar world. And also, it can
also use Demeter as well, which I support as well. It is up to Activeworlds
Inc. management to decide to give it go or not. Simply name it like "AW3" or
something like that since "AW2" is already taken, at least.

Jul 1, 2003, 9:13pm
Um, I don't understand... why does Gatekeepers allow these hitler comments
if that's not appropriate for children and other people? I thought these
kind of comments are prohibited by Content Guidelines? I mean, it doesn't
make sense that they would allow any inappropriate comments that are
expressly prohibited by AW Content Guideline. If AW Gatekeepers isn't
enforcing these guidelines in some of cases, that would be a serious issue
that Active Worlds Inc. would have to deal with. Unless, of course, I guess
the welcome message mentioning that content are user-generated suggests that
they can't really enforce rules and regulations that prohibits any offensive
or inappropriate comments. I mean, especially with that the fact AW Gate IS
the gateway, a place where incoming new user come there first and is thus
the place of their first exposure to Active Worlds. Also, will that make it
good impression on some of potential customer that this universe is orderly,
not some kind of anarchy or disorderly world? It doesn't make sense... But
I agree that corruption is inevitable, it can't be prevented from happening
BUT it can be significantly reduced as much as possible. I mean, sure
there'll be new corruption while old corruption is eliminated but we have to
do as much to reduce it but it's obivious it can't be TOTALLY prevented. I
suggest creation or commission of some kind of Internal Affairs Bureau for
Gatekeepers and Peacekeepers but who know? Hehehe :) Any suggestion or
compromise or whatever would be nice anyway.

Does anyone still have picture of that monolith thingy in Alphaworld? That's
first time I heard of that event in Alphaworld. I didn't know texture was
for that purpose. I thought that texture was just created for a texture to
be used for any object via command, not model. By the way, what is monolith?
Is it one stone or something? O_O Maybe E N Z O can explain it to us since

An Unofficial Alphaworld Poll

Jul 18, 2003, 9:03pm
1. What type of object are most needed to add new objects to?
For example, there's furniture, there's modular building, etc.

2. Should next objects be made in COB format only, DFF format (According to
Eep, it's supported by Active Worlds 3x and up, I'm unable to confirm it but
I'll just put this here), some in COB and some in DFF and some in RWX, some
in COB format and some in RWX format, only in RWX format, or other option?

3. Should Alphaworld get its cloud layers or/and some other new features?

4. Should GZ area revamped or preserved?

5. Since last object updates in 2002, is it time to get new objects or not
at this present time?

6. Does Alphaworld need any more new sounds in its object path?

Please note this is unofficial Alphaworld poll and is not in any way

An Unofficial Alphaworld Poll

Jul 20, 2003, 2:30am
I'm curious... does anyone remember how many versions, including current
ones, of AW GZ has there been? I'm pretty sure it might be more than three.
No wonder, with each versions, it get bigger. The original version was only
3 x 3 cellwide I believe.

I've seen a old version of AW GZ in old AW browser with 1995 cache that I've
downloaded it from Mauz's website. It was pretty interesting, as well some
interesting objects and textures. Now I've lost the ancient cached browser
of AW with old computer crashed and dead (Go ahead, blame Mafia for that
;) ) and now I have new computer... and I can't find it at download page of
Mauz's website... does anyone know what happened to it or still has it? I
would like to get it, although I'm not sure if it will work on my Windows XP
computer. It worked fine on my old Windows 95 computer but I think there has
been many changes effected upon release of Windows XP so basically I'm
unsure if it will still work anyway. I hope it does.

It appears that the light source texture (in this case, c_sun texture) in
Alphaworld is now removed altogether. How come? We need light source instead
of just using fall_day2 which is basically fall_day texture with sun in its

texture with light source texture (once again, in this case, c_sun) is
realistic. Thumb up! :) (Too bad I missed chance to see c_sun light source

Farewell AW(Cross-post Community/Worldbuilders)

May 2, 2004, 3:59pm
Sorry for posting in old thread but is that Doctor Pill's pharmacy still
there? I'd love to see that. I don't see pharmacy in Active Worlds a lot for
some reason hehe. It's just that I have an artistic eye since I appreciate
lots of details in small place. That world Camera (I think that was the one)
by AWI was certainly one of my favorites to visit even though I haven't
visited it for a while but it was pretty much detailed in such small area.
So the motto for that would be "Lots of details in such a small place." :)
Pharmacy do often have that kind of environment, especially considering the
fact that there are lots of small bottles and boxes and etc on shelf with
lots of details on it altogether. That pharmacy at Little Haiti in Vice City
game was certainly one of the most detailed small place. I liked it very
much. So anyway, I'd appreciate if anyone has pharmacy in Active Worlds that
I can visit. Once again, I have an artistic eye so that explains why I liked
the motto mentioned above. :)

Lara & Raine. Have Passed Away?

Apr 4, 2004, 6:06am
I just got that same e-cards from same folk too. I wonder how the heck did
they get my email address? I haven't posted on newsgroup for at least years
and now they got my email address?!?!?! I'm less-known person so I don't
know how I got that. O_o Anyway, I first heard about it on GZ before I
received e-cards so I already knew it was fake. Actually, I already knew it
was obviously fake for some reason. I just didn't believe even when I first
heard rumor. So I turned out to be correct in assuming that it was fake even
before I received official confirmation that it was fake. Anyway, I'm glad
Lara is okay. Now, here is the concern that was brought up in light of this
rumor and I'm sorry, Lara, but I have to bring up the concern but
considering the fact that not everyone last forever, what will we do with
Northwest Builders' Supply when it is actually time for her to go? I'm
concerned about it. It would be pain in the ass to make an entirely new
object yard with thousands of object and also NW Builders Supply is an
unique one that it has more than displaying to offer. There is this demos,
many of the houses she built that would be useful for people learning how to
do certain things and etc. It was pretty much a distinguished educational
insituition deep within Alpha World. We have lots to thank Lara for her NW
Building Supply. Now how will we be able to continue the NW Building Supply
tradition? And yes, I have heard some people suggested having AWI take over
but AWI is a small company! They wouldn't have time to maintain it and etc.
Who can be trusted to continue the tradition? Who?
