The hash that AW uses won't be able to tell someone what type of video card
you have, how much memory is installed on your computer, or any other specific information about your hardware. Don't overreact. -Agent1 [View Quote] Browser Tracking....May 26, 2002, 11:57am

I seriously doubt that it is the MAC address because those are so easy to spoof. On the other hand, what prevents the Activeworlds
browser from getting the MAC address of the computer it is running on and sending it off via Winsock to the Uniserver? -Agent1 [View Quote] Slide DetectionMay 26, 2002, 12:03pm
You don't end up "in gawd knows where" when you collide with an object. If
you continue to press "forward", then you'll move either left or right depending on which direction you're facing more. -Agent1 [View Quote] Slide DetectionMay 26, 2002, 12:22pm

Having a slow computer wouldn't affect how the SEQs make an avatar move. It might move really slowly, but it would make the same
motion as on any other computer. -Agent1 [View Quote] Sequences in 3.3Jun 3, 2002, 3:03pm
I went into MoonBeam and tried the "Fate" avatar (couldn't find Philiris). I used the Jump gesture and it seemed to move vertically.
I have, however, noticed that the Walk SEQ doesn't seem to be doing it's usual bobbing thing on any avatars I've tried that usually did bounce a little... -Agent1 [View Quote] WARNING M A T T IS BACK!Jun 17, 2002, 2:29pm

From what I've read of United States copyright law, anything placed into a "fixed form" is immediately protected. Of course, if you
plan to enforce your copyright, it is best to register. However, people may still display copyright notices because it *is* protected by copyright. -Agent1 [View Quote] Hosting & Stuff (VR RADIO TOO)... all cheap...can be paid online monthly!Jun 22, 2002, 7:40pm

It's not like he just went into AW's code and chopped out something that said "turning happens quickly when pressing control". It
most likely is related to the new animation engine AW is using. Roland was AW's head programmer for a long time and has earned the respect of people in this community, unlike you. There is no separate contact list server - the uniserver does that. The fact that you lost the connection is indeed the reason. Just

Too bad you can't just "use a cracked browser" to get whispers and telegrams. This person would either have to have access to the

No. If you want to save bandwidth, cut out everything but the basic point of the message to which you are replying. > I was simply saying how I felt about it, and figured since it's in direct reply to anduin's post you'd be able to udnerstand that... People can't always just "udnerstand" what you're trying to say. Quoting clarifies it a great deal. > there are plenty of other people who do the same thing, "But everyone else jumped off the bridge!!" >or just ignore this, before you come off all high and mighty with me, dumbass. Firstly, attack the argument, not the person. Otherwise it is you who looks foolish. The fact that he replied and tried to help you be more clear in your posts is hardly arrogant. You're missing my point. Obviously, one message that uses HTML isn't going to drasticaly affect anyone. However, if everyone starts using it for every post then it can quickly get out of hand. Best to discourage it all the time than let it appear to be accepted.
