Most likely the same as the moderator approving them all at the same time
I'd guess :) -Agent1 [View Quote] Custom Monopoly BoardJun 30, 2000, 11:28am

DON'T CRACKJul 16, 2000, 2:17pm
Roland tries very hard to implement features in new releases of AW. In fact, I find him to be the one that that actually interacts
with the community the most out of all of the AWCI members. Anyway, if people need to crack the browser to do something, then I'm sure AWCI (or at least Roland) would want to implement it. This way, people wouldn't need to crack the browser at all. -Agent1 [View Quote] DON'T CRACKJul 19, 2000, 2:14pm
oh my :) I was simply replying to:
LOL, kinda ironic. Seeing the fact that so many people have to crack the browser to enjoy themselves kinda gives AW a clue that what AW has to offer is no good. I agree that inter-universe teleport and communication are good things, and I would love to see them implemented along with the mile-long (I'm sure) list of features everyone is pushing Roland to include. Hopefully, Roland will be able to hire one (or better, two) more programmer(s) and we'll be able to have things done just that little bit faster. -Agent1 [View Quote] Please <snip> where appropriate!Jul 20, 2000, 11:10pm

I agree; If a few game-like features were added to the browser/SDK, it would make AW that little bit more able to compete with
others. -Agent1 [View Quote] EverQuest: 300,000 registered players - AW's futureOct 6, 2000, 11:05am
Actually, I'm fairly sure they're interested in "e-commerce" right now... Could be wrong. I seriously doubt they are really
interested in selling educational products. They provide a 1/3 discount, I believe... and they have their own "Eduverse" -- That's about all I can think of. -Agent1 [View Quote] EverQuest: 300,000 registered players - AW's futureOct 7, 2000, 3:17am

I don't think you get it. We don't want ALL of the features in EQ and other games of "today", we (or I, at least) think that AW
could benifit with a few of their features (inventory, etc.). I don't think the e-commerce thing is working out, so they need to do something new... They've got something great, now let's make it better :) -Agent1 [View Quote] AW3 contest over; results inconsistentOct 8, 2000, 2:52pm

I would also like to see this idea implemented. I asked Roland and he told me there are not going to be any more feature addtions to

I'm not on AWCI's payroll (as far as I know :) ). I do, however, know that sometimes it is hard to add features that users want.
Especially when there are only one or two (or three) people actually working on the browser. -Agent1 [View Quote] NewsletterOct 26, 2000, 11:34am
As some of you may know, I recommend a location in Alphaworld for the newsletter. If you've got a cool build and you haven't told me
about it already, send it in! :) I need more entries every month so that I can pick from more than one or two builds. Please include your name, the name of the city/town/build and coords in your telegram or email :) My address is agent1 at my.activeworlds.com. Please use the subject "Newsletter Location" for the subject. I still need to pick one for this month, so get sending! :) -Agent1 NewsletterOct 26, 2000, 7:26pm
I seem to have confused a few people. I am only accepting locations in the "AW" world itself :)

You know, Eep's page was (and IS) a great source for general AW information as well as Renderware scripting tips (not to mention
that keyword glossary thing). I doubt that you were even active in the newsgroups to even be affected by them being down, but Eep felt he was justified in removing his page. So, in summary, don't be an idiot. I'd like to see you develop a great resource and NOT do the same thing if you were in Eep's position. -Agent1 [View Quote] AW-inhabitants needed for scientific researchNov 12, 2000, 5:00pm

(a company I might add that he > continues to bless with his $$$)" That quoted statement seems to have a bit of a sacrcastic tone throughout it... > Now I haven't actually read a whole Page anywhere on his Site but I assume he's at least mastered how to make more then one page and > anything to do with Renderware can be found elsewhere... (ie: on another Page) So, you "haven't actually read a whole Page anywhere on his Site", but for some reason you have a link to it on your website? Strange... Also, I have not seen a resource on Renderware as complete and as well done as Eep's. It could use a little bit of cleaning up here and there, but that's not very important. > If, for some reason, you construed the phrase: > > "(I'm still laughing at him taking some info down, in a pout, not long ago... I don't know of any other page on his site that contains considerable "whining and complaining" about AWCI other than the history one. Well, from all that I've heard, this is what is trying to be accomplished:
1) The "bot" is downloaded and run. 2) It opens your aworld.ini file according to a registry entry that has your AW directory in it. 3) The "bot" tries to find the AW window and then outputs a string with your encrypted password in it (this only works if you store your password). If you take this password and use it with the proper citizen name, it's just like having someone's real account password. PS - I've tried this out a couple of times and it only seems to work properly when in Alphaworld, not any other worlds. -Agent1 [View Quote] ARRGHH!!!!!! AW down again!Dec 3, 2000, 3:04pm
