Click was kewl but time and time again I find how
useful it wouldbe if a bot could detect it when a anatar bumps into an object, and since I hear yall might be putting avatar colosions in 3.0, it would be a nice feature if bots could detect that too. I know what yer thinking Roland... "Jeez! I just implemented this click detect thing for ya and now ya want bump detection?!" In response, "Yep! Click is kewl but bump is kewler." Plus, I was thinking... instead of scanning in all the objects and waiting to see which object someone clicks, could you do something like putting "activate botalert 32413241234" in the object you want watched and the big long number would represent some bot code? -John Viper -- John Viper (A.K.A.: Jeffrey W. I wish the worlds were "sphereical"
As you know, you can walk past the end of the world but you can't build there. I was thinking it wouldbe cool if when you got to the edge of a world it would show you the other side. For example, if you walked straight east you would end up all the way on the west side. If ya do this roland, please don't put it in the AW 3.0... wait till AW 3.1 because we don't wanna wait longer than required :-) P.S.: Merry X-mas to all -- John Viper (A.K.A.: Jeffrey W. What I meant was when you get to the edge of the world it is like you are looking at the exact opposite side, and when you walk over the line you are at the west edge if you werre at the east edge. No, not literally round but more like a teleport thing (bump the edge and get teleported to the other side) except you could see over the line and into the W side. -- John Viper (A.K.A.: Jeffrey W. [View Quote] Personally I don't like chat rooms. I have NEVER had a good experience in them and it seems everyone is immature, and ts half the way they modify their text. The only thing I would like to use to modify the chat text would be italics, nothing else. Maybe an action thing (like "John Viper passes SomeOne a note") but that is almost getting to chat-room-like. /\ /\ My two cents /\ /\ -- John Viper (A.K.A.: Jeffrey W. I was just voting against making AW too much like a chat room. The only reason I would say "Go fer it!" to removing the chat text window is if they made it possible to speak. Haha thats a kewl part of a kewl moovy
Anyway I was just comparing AW to that... we have mouths but not really. We must hold up "signs" to talk (referring to chat window posts ant the text some people choose 2 have above their head. Now, the thing I would really like in AW is a way to literally talk. Using speech. It would make bots interesting ... well maybe we would have to leave the chat window in. It would be something like "create sound" where the farther u got from it the quieter it gets. "What if I don't want people bothering the peace of my world" you may ask? DUH! last time I tried it didn't work, besides i kinda meant so that you could do it
instead of clicking anywhere (not just moving the cursor from chat to whisper, moving control from 3-D and chat to whisper.) If that makes sense than I have succeeded. With the new "freelook" mode, that would be especially cool and useful even
if you are not a 3-D shooter fan. While I am on the note of freelook I just thought I would mention something cool, my friend Cybernome has an $800 3-D headset system which monitors head movement, he said he configured it for freelook mode. Hey how about a mouse sensitivity thing fer AW? It would be cool for both
freelook and mouse-move, cuz i like mooving thru AW 1st person shooter-style and im running on a touchpad, it gets anoying to turn by stroking my finger across the pad 10 times (or lifting the mouse and moving it to the other side is just as annoying, im sure, too.) _________________________ John Viper - - Go to http://www.getpaid4.com/cgi-bin/emailpanel.cgi?userid=176406 to receive FREE newsletters via email!
