No, I think everybody's getting the error message. Apparently either the
message has come too early or they forgot to open the world. LF whats up with DirtCity?Nov 1, 2003, 3:30pm
Its looks really great! Thanks naughty, now I can sleep peacefully tonight
knowing I have, truly, seen DirtCity =) LF DirtCity ObjectsNov 3, 2003, 5:05pm
Not likely anytime soon. Think of it this way. When a movie comes out in
theater, they will keep it in the theaters until they feel they have milked it for all its worth, and then they will release it on video. Just apply this to the homepages. LF You know you've been watching too much Dragonball when...Nov 18, 2003, 3:01pm
<-- Not English, thinks Anime is strictly for nerds with no life (along with
a lot of what's on TV), always votes Republican... ...and thinks that if Jstone scrolls up the NG thread list, he will find that a good 70% of them are quite pointless. LF You know you've been watching too much Dragonball when...Nov 19, 2003, 4:39am

MY LORD!
Thank you so much Bowen. I don't know where I would be without you! I mean, to speak English bad is one thing, but to type EBONICs wrong, good gracious, I'm surprised the PKs haven't yet apprehended me. You, sir, are a credit to AW! My goodness...the wand carried by Hermes/Mercury having two serpents
entwined around it flanked by two wings is used as the medical insignia of certain medical groups such as the U.S. Army Medical Corps. Even though it is 'sometimes' used to symbol civilian medical practice, the staff of the Roman god of medicine is usually used. Its considered more appropriate. But...you can also say that the medical insignia comes from Biblical days originating in Moses and the wandering Israelites days. LF snakeNov 21, 2003, 1:09pm
Most Americans wouldn't be too far off the mark either. Many/most of the
European countries we see today are younger (in the political sense) than America (Germany, Italy, Austria, etc. and the Eastern ex-bloc countries). Much of the Middle Eastern countries are 50 years or younger, and many African countries also. So America as a country isn't so young as others like to play. Americans as a people (identity) are quite young though. LF snakeNov 21, 2003, 3:52pm

Its a shame AW wasn't mentioned (or even Worlds.com or Adobe Atmosphere for
that matter) yet a 2-D environment was. From what I saw though, people should be really thankful for the AW pricing we have now. While not prefect, its better than most. Second Life is charging $14.00 per month for goodness-sakes. At anyrate, I had been using There for a while before I had to stop due to RL complications, but didn't really get hooked. The people there were dry and immature. Second Life just looked to uptight, and TheSims never really appealed to me. Although, that MickeyMouse Online joint was looking quite enticing. So I saw. Every browser has its following I would reckon.
MS dropped out of the 3-D interactive webscape area because the internet is moving in a new direction. Sure, there will always be a large crowd that wants 3-D chat, but not enough so that MS is willing to invest in. Just not profitable enough when more people are willing to settle for 2-D chats. Its like Wal-Mart does, they just use K-Marts marketing research to see where they should set-up a new store (that's why you always see a Wal-Mart right next to a K-Mart). MS has done that. They see that AW, SL, There aren't what's hot and dumped it. I'm curious to see what they would have come up with though. LF Just wondering...Nov 23, 2003, 7:28pm
In certain worlds, I know a bot can control your font/color preferences. But
that only pertains to that world... LF US FlagNov 26, 2003, 3:19pm
I depends. If the flag touches the ground as an accident, i.e. the corner
touches the ground while being lowered, it is usually over looked and folded according to specs. However, if the US flag touches the ground in an "undignified" manner, i.e. it falls completely on the ground, or is trampled on, then it is burned in a proper manner. The reason you would give it to an American Legion Post is because they routinely hold flag burning sessions, to destroy defiled American flags. You may keep the flag, but it cannot be hoisted. This may seem silly, and a bit over ceremonial (you have to remember, the flag represents the nation, and its people. It by it self is nothing, but what it stands for it very precious, thus is why it is held in such high regard. LF US FlagNov 26, 2003, 6:35pm
I guess the rest of the world knows how cheap the Union Jack is; not worth
burning. LF |
