Sounds like a plan to me, except in the past when we've attempted to explain
why rules are in place, they've told us to grow up and move into the twenty
first century and to "get a new ISP"
Also, there has been an FAQ-type document with two editions already that
gives descriptions on the NG regulars, perhaps this should be integrated?

*looks up from his biology textbook* Whee, I'm needed.
1) LOSE WINDOWS ME! Win98SE has the same compatability, if not better and
has fewer, errrrr, issues.
2) Detonator 3 drivers for video card.
3) LiveWare 3 drivers for sound card.
4) Put a real fan on that tbirdy.
5) Find Motherboard Monitor (software) and configure it to watch your CPU
temps. 50C is bad place for your CPU to be. 30 is ideal.
6) Install DirectX 8a, or whatever the heck the latest version is.
If that doesn't fix it, contact me at wing at systemrecall.com and I'll see if
I can't recreate it as closely as I can.

HEH, I still run a 66MHz :)
Albeit as a toy/Linux test platform/DOS legacy support.
By standards in my home town set by the High School, where the VAST majority
of computers are located, 33MHz is approximately average. Does this mean
that my 66MHz machine, by Hereford standards, is not outdated?
Outdated is anything older than two point five years.

What the FUCK are you talking about? Goddamn, what do you do to your car?
Pump it up with phat exhaust pipes and take a screwdriver to your muffler
and attatch quadruple wings to your trunk in hopes of being cool?
1GHz is by far NOT standard AT ALL yet. My primary use CPU is a 700MHz by
design, though I've milked it to nearly double that. The STANDARD system is
a Dell Dimension 4100, which, if you will do a little research, has sold
twice as many 900MHz units than 1GHz units. And ferchrissake you lamer, CPU
speed is by far NOTHING compared to CPU bandwidth. What good is a 2.0 GHz
computer which is causing a traffic jam on the FSB by essentially trying to
cram 2000 semi trucks onto a three lane highway about 4 miles long. A 1.8GHz
Athlon 4, on the other hand, does the same, except using a six lane highway
and 1800 trucks.
Don't get the analogy? Go back to PC school, riceboy.
Wing, out.

Roland didn't rush jack shit, it was the testing that was the problem. There
was FAR too small of a scope of systems tested. My three main test machines
came up with IMMENSE problems because nothing even CLOSE to the hardware
combinations had even been considered to my knowledge.
I also feel his timely vacation played a factor in this release (Is he even

Nonstandard testing is good. Testing on the most absolutely tricked out
systems possible, with the most sensitivity to the slightest error will
resullt in a more perfect program.
Oh yeah, what's so nonstandard about a TNT2/300Mhz machine with 128mb of
grab bag RAM? Go back to suburbia kiddies, if you can't take the way the
real world is supposed to work.

I just took the 3d homepage for a spin. Got myself a free one month cit and
a free one month world.
AW and AWCOM have been very good to me, I met the love of my life through
AW. I developed my passion for computers and in particular hardware. I've
made dozens of friends. Had hours upon hours of fun. Had a place to go when
shit went to hell. There was always someone to lean on, to talk to. A place
to be creative in ways the real world would never even begin to comprehend.
For the first time in my life, I felt like I belonged. That I wasn't too
smart or dressed the wrong way or listened to the wrong music.
Perhaps now some of you may understand why I've never treated newbies with
the respect they "deserve." There were so gosh darn many of them that they
would eventually destroy the community. In my opinion, they've succeeded.
Everyone, whether they pay or not, can get a world and a citizenship if they
have an email address. And the worlds are FREAKING PREFAB!
Others may not agree with me, but I'm going to let go and try the freefall
of the real world. Rest assured, even if I don't end up dead, I won't ever
be back. The magic is gone. Thanks for taking it all away from me, Jessie,
Nathan and probably others that I don't know about.
Any further correspondence MUST be addressed to one of my contacts listed
in my signature.

Actually, Win98SE goes to 2099 before reverting to 1980. So guess what? Our
children get to relive Y2k because Microsoft, for obvious reasons won't even
consider changing their date system (It'd require actual work). There, we
all have a goal in life now, get Microshaft to fix it sometime before 2100
so our braindead children don't experience apocolpyse when the
Windows-dominated internet (Don't ask, it's a personal theory) suddenly
stops with no warning whatsoever.

This is a great idea, because all too many people go hacking the executables
thinking there's nothing wrong with it. An EULA.txt file would be a better
idea though, and just requires adding it to the installshield script and a
little copy and paste to create the file.
