It's not. At least not for me. Had to reinstall 3.1 cause I had nothing but
problems. Deleted cache many times along with multiple reinstalls and it
stunk
Frame rates were a joke. Got a P4 1.7 384 megs RAM and a GeForce3 and D3D
performance was half of what it was in 3.1. Open-GL was terrible with only
0.7 fps and software mode was 3.1 fps compared to 56.5 fps with the 3.1
oh well....

Yes, tried all modes as the results previously stated. I have the latest
drivers, Direct X 8 all my games , Tomb Raider's, Quakes, etc... all fly.
3D Mark bench scores are off the map and 3.1 worked perfectly with fantastic
fps.
Besides a performance hit in 3.2, much of the worlds do not load visually at
all. Alpha world doesn't even have a ground anymore. It's there as I can
walk on it and bump into walls and such but their mostly invisible.
Pieces of objects are gone as seen in Meta. Avatar limbs missing...LOL
I think this one needs a tad more work. Going to reinstall 3.1 :)
BTW, I did test it on my backup system with a Voodoo5 card and it seems to
be much better and most the objects render again. Seems to be an issue with
certain GeForce3 driver combos.

Most likely what people are refering to is the ammount of cell data in your
area or simply that it's over built. It could also mean that someone around
you has over built their area and causing yours to "lag". Each cell in the
world can contain a certain ammount of data that must be downloaded to a
users computer and processed in order to see the objects. The more data to
process the slower your movement becomes. The help files explain this to
some degree. Of course your internet connection plays a part in this also ,
so several things come into play.

We shouldn't have to run out and download all kinds of new drivers and
upgrades just to run one software program. New driver's are not always the
best. Right now all my other programs run great including many games.
Updating to the new Nvidia drivers does fix the AW 3.2 problems I have been
having but causes many more problems than it fixes including many games not
playing at all now.
If it isn't broke, don't fix it.
I will stick with 3.1
