Occasionally I play around with Hambot but don't really know that much about
the scripting part. When you use a bot in it's default script it signs on as a citizen or tourist in your world and shows up in the worlds list as a user. Is there a way to script Hambot to sign on bots as a non user and operate in your world but not show up in the list like the ones used in " The 13th" or does this require a special kind of bot to do this? How?Feb 24, 1999, 7:12pm
All I get is an error message saying "Cant start AW SDK version 13 reason
454 " when I add that :) [View Quote] How?Feb 24, 1999, 7:44pm
priviledge password, where does that go? All I see is the 2 lines for user
name and number in the INI file. If i change it back to a "0" then Hambot starts as normal, otherwise it just gets the error message and shuts down...lol [View Quote] How?Feb 24, 1999, 9:22pm

Ok, got it fixed. Had to replace an older AW.DLL file. Works great now :)
Thanks... Another questionFeb 25, 1999, 2:46am
Ok, now that I've got this Hambot working again as a SDK bot, anyone know
how to set it so that it will wear an avatar thats not in the listing? I've tried to get it to wear a Special1 but it will so far only be one listed in the world avatar.dat file. Thanks alot :) world attributesMar 3, 1999, 3:25pm
Yes, hit ctrl, alt, shift with your left hand and drink 2 beers with your
right while repeating to yourself " There's no place like home, there's no place like home...." -- "Your e-mail has been taken over by rabid monkeys wielding pickles!" [View Quote] AGP GraphicsJan 31, 1999, 12:37am
I don't claim to know much about this paticular subject but is there anyway
to implement the use of the AGP graphics port used in some of the newer puters? A special DLL like MMX uses? I'm pretty sure it can't be done now but are there any plans to add this to the arsenal for better FPS ? 3DFeb 14, 1999, 11:33am
How about adding the option to use hotkeys to run AW in fullscreen when
running in Direct3D. Then use "tab" to bring back the browser menus. Building is soo much easier without all this junk on the sides and top in the way :) 3DFeb 14, 1999, 10:24pm
Don't need the browser and toolbars to build. Mine you right click to bring
up the object properties box. Surely mines not the only one like this ... [View Quote] How would you build if you don't have the object properties box though? Rjinswand 3DFeb 14, 1999, 11:53pm
Makes since :)
Ok then, how about the option to get rid of the top and bottom of the browser like simular to Internet Explorer in full screen mode. Put the option in the toolbar. If they can let us turn off the toolbar, web, and tabs then this should not be a prob. Even with those options turned off it still covers a good portion of the top and bottom of the screen... Why can't AW be rescripted or whatever so that the limit on the ammount of
verts in an object can be raised from 64 to maintain proper collision detection? 128 sure would be nice for a change :) AW sucks! I wish for 3D support! and MMX support...NOT!Feb 20, 1999, 11:26am
Aw runs just fine on mine. Using a Viper v550 and screen rez of 1280x1024 as
large as I can get the window it yields an average of 32.5 fps using the 3D drivers. And that's in fairly heavy built areas. 32.5 FPS may not seem like much compared to quake running at about 70 but it's a hell of alot better then 8. AW needs some work yes but try upgrading your system before blaming the software :) [View Quote] AW sucks! I wish for 3D support! and MMX support...NOT!Feb 21, 1999, 3:09am
It's a P2 400
But actually even thou Tomb Raider shits and gets on this thing in Hardware mode if you try to play it using software only Aw for some reason seems to be faster. Go figure :) Of course dropping the screen rez down to 800x600 makes a world of difference in both instances but not very detailed on a large monitor. [View Quote] Why not use OpenGL instead of direct 3d, or have better Direct3D supportMar 2, 1999, 8:36pm
Who cares which ones * the standard * as long as AW renders better then it
does now... -- "Your e-mail has been taken over by rabid monkeys wielding pickles!" How about adding the world expiration dates to the world options menu that
can be seen by caretakers with worlds being hosted. Save alot of hassles over this e-mail notice thing :) -- "Your e-mail has been taken over by rabid monkeys wielding pickles!" render only in-view objects into sceneMar 3, 1999, 1:32pm
Yeah, everytime you turn around then you'd have to reload the scene. A pain
in the butt??? -- "Your e-mail has been taken over by rabid monkeys wielding pickles!" [View Quote] |
