Mirrored surfaces

Dec 28, 1999, 9:05am
You can make mirrored objects if you want by using RWXmod17. There you open a
object and turns it upside down to make the mirror effects. I've done it myself
a few times and the result can be seen in the world ROC.

Name changing

Jul 21, 2001, 8:38pm
It shouldn't be possible to change the registred name at all. When you first
register and become a citizen of Activeworlds, your name should not be
allowed to play with. If anyone wanted to change the name, they should pay
for doing so or simply buy another citizen. Users changing their name two to
ten times a day do so just to play tricks on someone or can't make up their
mind. Maybe it would be a good idea to have a name change limit of ten
times? This way the users who can't make up their mind can try out
different names up to ten times before the name become frozen and unable to
be changed anymore. Does anyone else have any good idea to stop users from
changing their name all the time???

building in offline without internet connection

Jul 23, 2001, 4:26am
You could do that in earlier versions of the browser i remember. What i did
was connecting to the net and started AW and finding a free spot to build
on. Then i just close my internet connection and buildt for hours until i
was satisfied with my build. Then...without closing the browser ( in offline
mode) or move too far away from the buildt, i re-connected to the internet
and waited until the "Waiting for server" message was gone and everythin i'd
made were uploaded to the world. Just as i were building online.
Unfortunaly...this feature or bug..whatever doesn't work in the latest
versions. My guess is that it would be a piece of cake for AWCOM to re-add
this but i'm not sure they even know about it. Anyway..they wouldn't do this
because if everyone did it, AW would be empty!
Oh well...

building in offline without internet connection

Jul 24, 2001, 8:31pm
Sure it could be a risk doing this.
Same thing as trying to build on someones elses property will happend if you
try to upload your buildings and someone else have already built there in
online mode.
No problem to solve that, just lay grass all over the place you plan to
build on in offline mode. I did that!
If you got a blue screen or a computer lockup while doing this, you're in
trouble...but such trouble don't happend often, right?? :-)

I wish...

Sep 2, 2002, 10:51am
This is the wishlist, right? So here we go :-)

I wish i were a Cyber God and could turn myself into bits and bytes and go
through the telephone jack and into AW were i turned myself into an Cyber
God Helmut avatar!!

I wish i could access all the world options no matter what world i entered!
I wish i could change the Universe option and do whatever i wanted with it!
I wish i were a caretaker of Alphaworld and that i owned AWC! I
wish i had a billion dollars! I wish i had 1000 womens to choose from and i
wish it were my birthday everyday!

But right now...i wish i didn't spend time writing this stupid post!

Teleport list on Uniserver

Sep 10, 2002, 9:13am
I think it would be a good idea to have the teleport list on the
uniserver because i always loose my cords to where am building after a time!
That could be i have to re-install windows or my system crash so i have to
install everything again! If the teleport list were located on the
uniserver, we wouldn't have to think about loosing our cords!

xsign.rwx

Jul 22, 2001, 11:09am
Not only are there probs with the xsign but also the rcube.rwx.
I know the rcube.rwx is in the object path but its have to be missing from
the registry. I sendt a mail to AWC telling them about the missing piece but
they never replied or did anything about it.
Why is the rcube.rwx missing from the registry when it have been in the path
almost from the first day activeworlds came online? Its not that the object
is pretty or useful of any kind but i like it and i have used it for many
purposes and i want it back !!!!!

3.3-Gestures

Jul 22, 2002, 10:16pm
AWC have a new seqs machine in the 3.3 browser and there have been some
problems with the update as i've heard. Also i heard they are working on the
problem and they promised an upgrade to fix the problem. When the fix will
be out i don't know but all we can do is wait and hope they will fix it as
soon as they can. Alot of users have reported this as far as i know so
something have to be done about it pretty fast. Thats what i've heard! But
for all i know AWC might have fixed it already and this problem you talking
about could be something else..

Let tourists back in Alphaworld!!

Jul 22, 2002, 10:39pm
As i'm pretty sure everybody who goes to Alphaworld have notice how empty GZ
have been since the tourist were banned from the world. Most of the time
there is no one there at all or just a few users lurking! I remember when
the tourist were allowed to enter Alphaworld, there was always people
talking and there was always interesting to hang out there! In my opinion,
AWC made a big mistake to ban the tourist from Alphaworld. And i bet more
people would register if tourist were allowed as well! I miss the tourists
and i hope AWC will let them back in! Remember in the "old days" when gz
were full of users all the time? Never a bored moment. I guess some of you
don't want them backand thats fine. You have the right to mean whatever you
want but you can't say gz is interesting anymore after they left, can you?

So please AWC, let the tourists back in so we can have back our interested
gz with both nice and unpleasant chats! If you don't like tourists, then use
your mute button! LET THE TOURISTS BACK IN!!!

Object path protection

Sep 10, 2002, 7:09am
I don't think a blank.html file will work. You need to upload a file named
"index.html" or "index.htm" This document will prevent everyone to list
whats on your folder on the net! Just add another "index.html" file in each
folder (directory) to prevent everyone to see whats inside the folders!

You can write whatever you want on that index.html document, just like a
normal web page!
I guess most of you allready know this but just in case someone didn't :-D

aworld1 file

Jul 24, 2001, 8:12pm
Woah............ I had no idea it was illegal to use the aworld.exe file...
Why haven't AWCOM made a file like this? To open two browsers at the same
time is pretty useful for me becase i can see how the avatars i make/change
looks in realtime. Two browsers at the same time is useful in many ways
when it comes to testing out stuff you make or whatever. It is useful if you
need to be in two different universes at the same time as well. I really
miss this option and i sure hope AWCOM reconsider and make such a file in
the future.
How could i know it was illegal to use it?? Thanks for telling me...i
think!
Doh.........

Return of rypp!

Jun 10, 2002, 7:24pm
Some of you maybe remember a post in here regarding the theft of my citizen?
Anyway, it took over 20 days before it was returned.
I know who the thief is and i am not through with him yet! He will get his
punishment i tell you!!
Anyway, since my citizen was originally purchased by the Pata world, i had a
lot of problems getting it back because the person in charge of Pata was on
his holiday (my bad luck)
I write this post because i want to inform everyone (who cares) that i got
the citizen back and i would like to thank the people who helped me!
A special thanks to:

Ananas, who let me borrow one of his citizen and sent mail to AWC about
this.
Tengel, who is in charge of the world Pata for his support, his mail to AWC
and hard work even he had a holiday.
Angel 01, for sending mail and calling AWC, Roland and her uniqe support.
Noelle, for returning the citizen.
Mauz, since she have me on her "Citizen" page so everyone know that the
citizen number was mine (rypp)

For all of you who added your name and comment on my "support page" att:
http://hjem.sol.no/aworld/rypp.htm

For those of you who said and think this is no big deal and that citizens
got stolen all the time:
IT IS A BIG DEAL!! It could be your citizen who could get stolen next time!
If we all stopped to care, the thiefs will continue to steal user ID's even
worse than today. We HAVE TO CARE to see an end to this and punish them as
hard as we can! I thought the guy who stole my citizen was a friend of mine
and i helped him the best i could when he asked for it! (which he often did)
So if the thief read this, then know that you have a big surprise coming up
for you! It's not just me who work for your punishment. You were pretty
stupid you didn't return the citizen when i asked you to! If you had, i
would forgotten the whole thing, and be glad i did not tell your name to
everyone. (still thinking about that though)

Just glad to be back :-))

AW HI REZ CD_ROM

Jun 13, 2002, 4:58am
A few years back i bought the Aw hi-rez cd-rom!
It was version 2.0 at that time.
Does anybody know what happend to that CD? Did they stop making it and
selling it?
After they started to sell the CD, the option to enable it is still in the
browser but what use is it if AWC don't start to sell an upgraded version of
the CD? As some of you know, i had a webpage about the CD and how to create
your own! I've written "disabled" on the page but it still work as far as i
know. You can see the page at:
http://home.sol.no/~morgoths/-aw/pathexample/awcd.htm
I made my own that way and even added my own world to it. Today i tried to
create another one and it seems to work alright.
Anyway... why hasn't AWC made the upgraded version of the CD-Rom? Is it due
to lack of interest? Or was the CD a complete failure and they sold almost
none of the CD?
Was i the only one stupid enough to buy it? LOL
If you should have any information about the "mysterious" CD-Rom, i would be
glad to hear it!
If AWC plan to never give out a second version of it, then why the #¤%& did
they leave the option in the browser version after version? I've started to
wonder if they did that just to confuse people?
I am sure there is alot of users wondering about that option in the browser
and were to get this "mysterious" CD-Rom, don't you think?
So AWC...Make another CD or tell those who are interested, were they can buy
a copy!!!

Alphaworld Object Gallery!

Aug 31, 2002, 1:52pm
Some of you have used the Alphaworld Object Gallery when you build and some
of you have noticed the site is gone now! The reason for that is my web
server, were i had the site have quit with webpages so i were forced to move
the sites to a new location once again! The new location is att :
http://www.bai.no/~ryppfiles and also the site is updated some! I guess
alot of you have waited for the update and now it's finally being done :-D
By now i have uploaded about 300 plus..object images and i have 800 images
ready for upload in the next few days! Also check the site from time to time
since it will be fully updated with all the newest Alphaworld object images!
The object images who are on the site now, is the "edge" objects! You find
a link to those at the main page! ( look for a red text with link) Once
clicking at it, it opens the bottom java applets page were you got 4 new
sites to choose from! That is, edge22, edge30, edge45 and edges!

I hope you who use the site will be kind enough to write my guestbook and
give a little feedback! I love to read your opinion of the site, either it's
good or bad! Please let me know what you think of it, either by writing the
guestbook, sending e-mail to rypp at usa.com or telegram me!!

Have fun building :-D
