Personally I will just rent a tanker with lots of suplies and find a way to
rebuild ActiveWorlds........the RIGHT way =) [View Quote] A Simple Request :)Dec 29, 1999, 1:57am
Actually, I kind of like that idea. I mean, I have a LOT of people on my
lis. Some are PKs, friends, etc. But it would be a lot easier if it were on the lines of the ICQ contacts list. [View Quote] My Aw WishDec 23, 1999, 11:30pm
There is only one feature I really want-and that is to be able to block
telegrams. I have several anoying people constantly telegraming me for the sole purpose to annoy me. I don't know about the rest of you, but I have a sanity limit....... klee42 at hotmail.com MidNight Thunder, Citezen 298,819 My better AW WishDec 24, 1999, 3:19pm
I know this is impossible, but instead of being able to block tgrams and
mute people etc, I wish we could all get along all the time. This goes for the real world as well. I wish that all of you have a merry Christmas, and a happy new year. MidNight Thunder CareTaker of NightWorld (freaks4u on the worlds list) Wishing all of you happy holidays. wave filesDec 27, 1999, 8:39pm
This is possible, with a microphone, website, and a computer =). All you
have to do is to record the message you want the people to hear with the microphone connected to your computer and put it on a site via FTP. Then in aw use the command create noise (the sound url here). With the create noise command, it will not play over and over, just once. [View Quote] World server optionDec 26, 1999, 3:09pm
I think it would be handy if the owner of a world could actually change the
world name on the worlds list, that would be handy if the theme changed, or if the name wasn't atracting many users. World server optionDec 27, 1999, 8:36pm
Yes I know, but they must give you a new world, therefore you must do
apropdump, propload.......it's a pain. [View Quote] World server optionDec 28, 1999, 12:14am
A better chat interfaceDec 28, 1999, 5:02pm
I don't like the colour idea, sometimes the people use colors so bright that
you must strain your eyes to read it. I like the rest of the ideas. [View Quote] A better chat interfaceDec 28, 1999, 10:09pm
Hmmmmm, that sounds like a very good idea.
[View Quote] Re: nobody is postingDec 29, 1999, 2:01am
When I have nothing to do I make something to do. Have I ever mention that I
love fixing things? When I get REALLY bored I will take something complex apart, then find a way to put it back together. Like a small radio for example. [View Quote] Re: A'Dragon PicturesDec 29, 1999, 2:04am
That is because XOOM.com sticks their logo on top of your wbe page.

And you = still have to consider the fact of how much lag that real-time speech = would create, which is already excessive...=20 =20 It would be something like "create sound" where=20 the farther u got from it the quieter it gets. actually, with the 'sound' functions in AW, the sound fades up to a = certain point, then it cuts off entirely. What would be more fruitful to = the environment is directional sound. e.g, if you were facing the wall = with a jukebox (object) off to your left, the music (wav, midi = whatever...) coming from the jukebox would sound louder from the left = speaker than the right, and visa versa. It would also do well to allow = more than one wave file or midi to play at once to create a more = realistic space, while fading in and out of them as you approach the = object. One more detail that would be useful, if not entirely necessary: = Volume control- The intensity of the sound at the closest point to the = object. With multiple waves running at the same time, the louder/softer = tones would naturally need to be manipulated without having to modify = the actual wav file.=20 =20 "What if I don't want people bothering the peace=20 of my world" you may ask? I agree, and there really are some great ideas on this newsgroup. I think
that if they really want AW to progress they should listen to what the customers want. MidNight Thunder CareTaker of NiteWrld [View Quote] Online Status IndicatorsJan 26, 2000, 8:40pm
